Rock On!! Because Devil Horns Do Belong at Disney. An Oct TR Updated 9/5 x10!

It was about 11:30 when we got done with GMR. Dinner was kind of early at 5:30 so I wanted to eat lunch soon so we headed towards Pizza Planet. I’ve haven’t been really thrilled with the CS selections at HS but I had never eaten at Pizza Planet so that was the choice for this day. There was also a second reason for eating there but I’ll get to that in a minute.

There were some Hidden Mickeys in the mural in the order area. I still haven’t figured out for sure why my camera goes blurry sometimes when I zoom in for a close shot. I think I need to play some with the focal length.

The downstairs area was very crowded but we headed upstairs and there was plenty of seating. Jim ended up getting the veggie pizza:

I got cheese pizza:

Our meals came with a Caesar salad which neither of us touched.

For dessert, Jim got the special Carrot Cake cupcake they had for Halloween. He scraped some of the icing off because there was a lot. I was going to eat it for him but discovered it was Creamsicle flavored, not vanilla like I thought. I’m not a big fan of Creamsicle.

I got a chocolate chip cookie for my dessert.

The food was good, nothing special but it filled us up. Jim thought the cupcake was very good.

The other reason I wanted to go to Pizza Planet was because I found out that there was a pressed penny machine with Pluto somewhere in the place. I was on a quest to find it which is probably why I didn’t take any more pictures in Pizza Planet. And find it I did! I’ve been looking for Pluto since our Honeymoon in 1998. I got one on that trip but lost it so I needed another one.

The next thing I had on the schedule to do was the Lights, Motors, Action show but we still had a bit of time before it started. So I asked Jim if he wanted to ride Star Tours. I was planning on sitting it out this trip since I got so sick on it in March. Jim didn’t want to ride it alone but he did want to visit the store so we headed there.

It was really crowded in there but he managed to look around a bit. He was really disappointed in the selection of adult t-shirts and didn’t get one like he wanted. He did see a storm trooper sweatshirt he liked but unfortunately it only came in kids sizes. He did end up getting some light up light saber key chains.

He wanted them to put on his back pack as the picture shows but he ended up taking them off because they turned on too easily and he kept bumping them. Those suckers are bright! I saw a Pluto as R2D2 figurine but decided to come back later to get it so I didn’t have to carry it all day.

When we left the store, Jim spotted the Speeder Bike from Return of the Jedi and of course he had to have a picture with it.

It was around this time that I came up with the title for the TR since the Devil Horns were becoming a theme. I mentioned my title idea to Jim and as you’ll see, he took the idea to heart for the rest of the trip!

There was still quite a bit of time till the LMA show and I noticed there was no wait for the Muppets so we hopped in line.

I don’t think I ever noticed the Pigs in Space vehicle before.

We both enjoyed the Muppet Movie. Jim really likes the Swedish Chef so he liked the end part a lot. I know we looked at the Muppet store because Jim wanted a Swedish Chef shirt but I can’t remember if it was right after the movie or later in the day. He was very disappointed with the selection as he remembered the huge variety they had in 1998 when that whole store was all Muppets.

As we headed towards the LMA stadium, I noticed that some of the Osborne Lights were up. It made me sad because I knew I wasn’t going to get to see them this year.

Continued from Previous Post

The stadium was pretty full already but we still got decent seats that were in the shade. It was another scorcher of a day.

I always have to take a picture of the iconic buildings you can see from the audience.

I took a huge amount of pictures during the show but I’ll just post some of the better ones.

Here comes Lightning McQueen!

Jim really enjoyed the show like I knew he would. He likes spy movies so he thought it was neat to see how the stunts were filmed. As for me, well, this was the third time I’ve seen it. It’s definitely a good show but it’s not as fun when you know how all the tricks work.

Probably posting as your posting your next update BUT..
your too close and your camera cannot focus on it.
depth to field is off... :thumbsup2

i am LOVING the devil horns all over the world it is CRACKING me up!!!
I am a puppet FANATIC! and your right the store needs more muppet stuff. I want a beaker/Bunsen doll for my photography....

You are killing me with all of these updates, Ariana. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

We did "double dip" once this past trip. We rode Soarin' with our FP+ and then got another set of FP's with our Annual Passes.

Sorry you didn't get that extra ride in on TSM...but glad you at least got one before your FP+.

I've never seen the line for TOT out to Beauty and the Beast. Glad it moved quickly and Jim enjoyed it.

The picture of Jim on Rock & Roll is exactly how I look. I hate that ride and will NEVER do it again.

Great shots on The Great Movie Ride.

Love all the photopass pictures, but especially the ones with "Chip".

Wow - you got to meet Rabbit!! How cool - pretty jealous, actually. You got some really nice pics with him and Winnie the Pooh.

I’m so sorry that you were feeling sick; glad it was relatively short-lived.

Great ToT pictures! I wish I was there now. I think your ride photo turned out really cute.

:rotfl2: The RnR pic is hilarious though!!! Too bad y’all didn’t enjoy the ride though. :(

Enjoyed the GMR pics. We have never done it! :scared1:

The caesar salads at Pizza Planet actually look quite fresh and tasty - I’m a bit surprised. What a cute cupcake!

Love the Muppets! Can’t believe I totally forgot about them on our August trip.

Great update...

I have never eaten at Pizza Planet... But I am glad you were able to get your Pluto pressed penny. Despite the creamsicle frosting - that cupcake is adorable!

Those light sabres look pretty cool, and I like the photo of Jim... For some reason - I see a lot of those photos, but I've never actually seen the spot to take them when we are in the store. Not that I am really looking for it... LOL

We have not seen LMA either... It is on our list to do, but we just have not done it yet. It seems that we are always preoccupied with other things at DHS... I think we will get there eventually though.

Ah, I had no idea I could zoom in too much! Thanks, I'll have to work with that next trip.

That store is such a disappointment now. I remember spending a huge amount of time in there on our Honeymoon. Jim did get a Swedish Chef shirt and of course it's long gone now. He really wants a new one to replace it. I love your Walter shots and I bet some Beaker/Bunsen ones would be awesome!

I can't agree with you more! It is a little sad to know all the tricks.

I remember being in such awe the first time I saw that show. But now that I know what is going to happen, it's just not as fun.

You are killing me with all of these updates, Ariana. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Sorry Kathy! But I think you understand that it is not fun to be writing two reports at once. I only have 54 days to go till the February trip and I'd like to have as much of this report done as possible.

We did "double dip" once this past trip. We rode Soarin' with our FP+ and then got another set of FP's with our Annual Passes.

We did end up double dipping one time later in the trip. There was one particular ride that had a 40 minute wait and I knew Jim would not be happy if we waited that long for this ride.

Sorry you didn't get that extra ride in on TSM...but glad you at least got one before your FP+.

I really wanted that second ride but I think my experience in March may have been unique. The line to get in was much shorter because it was so cold that day. I have no idea why they let us in 1/2 hour early.

I've never seen the line for TOT out to Beauty and the Beast. Glad it moved quickly and Jim enjoyed it.

Well, it really wasn't that long because they hadn't started letting people into the regular line yet since it wasn't open. We walked all the way to the empty fountain once they started letting people in.

The picture of Jim on Rock & Roll is exactly how I look. I hate that ride and will NEVER do it again.

I'm beginning to really dislike that ride myself. I know I'll have to ride it next trip because it's Mom's favorite. I guess I can put up with it for her sake.

Great shots on The Great Movie Ride.

Thanks!

Love all the photopass pictures, but especially the ones with "Chip".

I was really excited to get the Chip ones this time. We got a lot more magic shots than ever before and I think it was because we had PP+

Wow - you got to meet Rabbit!! How cool - pretty jealous, actually. You got some really nice pics with him and Winnie the Pooh.

It was really awesome to get to meet Rabbit. They were a lot of fun to meet too.

I’m so sorry that you were feeling sick; glad it was relatively short-lived.

Yeah, it was a bit of a bummer but I have a very sensitive stomach. I'm so used to feeling sick that it really doesn't bother me too much any more.

Great ToT pictures! I wish I was there now. I think your ride photo turned out really cute.

:rotfl2: The RnR pic is hilarious though!!! Too bad y’all didn’t enjoy the ride though. :(

That RnRC picture is just the best, I giggle every time I look at it!

Enjoyed the GMR pics. We have never done it! :scared1:

You'll have to put that on your must do list for your next trip because it's a really cute ride!

The caesar salads at Pizza Planet actually look quite fresh and tasty - I’m a bit surprised. What a cute cupcake!

Couldn't tell you if they were fresh or not because neither of us ate a bite! :rotfl: The cupcake was cute. It was just available for Halloween, I think they do different specialty cupcakes there throughout the year.

Love the Muppets! Can’t believe I totally forgot about them on our August trip.

I love that show too!

Great update...

I have never eaten at Pizza Planet... But I am glad you were able to get your Pluto pressed penny. Despite the creamsicle frosting - that cupcake is adorable!

That was my first time. It's very similar to Pizzafari if you've ever eaten there.

Those light sabres look pretty cool, and I like the photo of Jim... For some reason - I see a lot of those photos, but I've never actually seen the spot to take them when we are in the store. Not that I am really looking for it... LOL

It's actually across the path from the store, kind of on the way to Sci Fi. Jim spotted it from pretty far away, guess it was his Star Wars radar kicking in. :rotfl:

We have not seen LMA either... It is on our list to do, but we just have not done it yet. It seems that we are always preoccupied with other things at DHS... I think we will get there eventually though.

D~

You should definitely see it one time. It's not really a show to see over and over because once you know the tricks it's not as exciting. That being said, I will be seeing it for a forth time in February because my DB & SIL have not seen it yet.

So before I do the next update, I thought I'd share some of the Christmas stuff I did this year for my Mom and SIL.

First up is my SIL Jocelyn. She asked for Disney hoodies for Christmas for our February trip. I did get her a nice navy Mickey one but forgot to take a picture before I wrapped it. To go along with the hoodie, I decided to get her a Starbucks gift card. She loves Starbucks and was very excited when I told her she could get some at Disney. Just so she knows what the gift card is for I put together this for her:

As for my Mom, every Disney trip we take she mentions wanting to eat in the castle. But with one thing or another, we always pass up CRT for other restaurants. She always ends up defering to what other people want. So about a month ago, which was way past our 180 day mark, I decided to just see if there was anything out there. I really did not expect to find a time available. Imagine my shock when I found an 8:35 am breakfast spot for us! It will just be the two of us going on our last full day, my DB, SIL, Aunt and Uncle will already be gone. I had to come up with a way to give this to her for Christmas so I decided an invitation from Cinderella would be fun.

Here's the outside of the card:

I really wanted to carry the gold lettering to the inside but I seriously miscalculated the number of packs of letters I would need. Luckily I had the pink letters that I used on the inside.

An a closer picture of the message from Cinderella.

I sure hope she likes it when she opens it on Christmas morning!

I didn’t really have any concrete plans for after LMA. I had gone over the different shows at HS with Jim at lunch and he didn’t seem interested in seeing any of them. So I decided it was time to meet some characters. I had on a Monster’s Inc. shirt so we headed to their greet first. We made a quick bathroom stop which was probably not a good idea because a lot of people from LMA headed to the Monster’s line and it was pretty long by the time we got in it. Plus it was really hot back in that area with no breeze at all. I know I sound like a broken record complaining about the heat but it was a big deal to me this trip. So sorry for the complaining. Once we got under the roof of the greet area it wasn’t so bad because there were fans. We ended up waiting about 30 minutes which included the Monsters taking a break.

The whole meet and greet area is now done like Monsters University so I took a bunch of pictures while we waited.

This turned out to be a pretty disappointing and weird greet. I was hoping for some good interaction since I had a Monster’s Inc. shirt on. Sully is my favorite from the movie but the Sully at the meet and greet is just creepy with that open-mouthed staring at the ceiling expression. It’s really hard to interact with him because of that. And Mike was trying to get me to do something and for the life of me I couldn’t figure it out. I thought he wanted me to roar with him but apparently that was not it. He keep stamping his foot at me and wouldn’t turn to face the camera for a while.

Next we headed towards the Cars “meet”. I put meet in parenthesis because there really is no interaction since they are just statues. Jim had seen them earlier though and wanted a picture. The line was pretty short, in the shade and there was a good breeze going in that area which was a relief. And we were being watched over by this lady the whole time.

The meet with Lightning and Mater was quick since it’s really just a photo op.

I see now looking at my pictures that we visited the Muppet Store after the Cars greet. I guess we didn’t have time before LMA. I think we also stopped in the little Christmas Store at that time.

We wondered a little through the Streets of America and Jim just had to break the rules and get this picture.

Would you believe another guest came up and told him off for being behind there? We both thought that was pretty funny.

I like that pressed penny!!

Glad you got seats in the shade for LMA. Great shot of ToT, GMR and the hat from your seats!

The card you made for your SIL is adorable! And the CRT invitation is SO nice, that's awesome that you got a reservation for the 2 of you. She will love it!

Still following along! Seems like it was a fun trip. I also love your creative Christmas cards! Those are adorable!

You didn't even take the weekend off! You are a posting maniac!! :cool1: That RnR ride photo is great!!! Jim cracks me up with his squeezed shut eyes and death grip. I LOVE that ride!!!

The pressed penny is fantastic! :thumbsup2

LOVE the cards you did for your mom and Jocelyn..those are so cute and creative! :cutie: Can't wait to see how excited your mom gets about her breakfast in the castle! With the safari last year and the castle this year, you are really setting yourself up for some BIG expectations at Christmas every year now. :rotfl:

Yeah, that Mike and Sulley m&g WAS indeed weird. You and Jim and Mike are all roaring and posing...and Sulley is just standing there all dumb-founded like. :confused3 :sad2:

Can't wait to read more! popcorn::

That's funny that you said you got more magic shots because you hadthe PP+. We got ONE magic shot our entire trip. :(

Love the Cinderella card.

I've read a lot of unhappy reviews of the character meet with Sully and Mike. I can't beleive a "guest" yelled at Jim for being behind the sign. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Oh your SIL and Mom are going to LOVE their gifts What sweet cards you made :goodvibes I never had breakfast in the castle but had lunch there about 5 years ago and I was extremely happy with the whole experience It is one of my top memories, right up there with the experience of Wild Africa Trek so I think you will be very pleased Worth every penny and a lifetime memory

Cinderella should be in an extremely good mood I would think being married to a prince and you are seeing her in her home on Valentines Day  lucky princess

Yes what the heck is up with Sulley & Mike I haven't seen them back there since the new look but have heard same kind of experiences :confused3 especially Sulley just standing there like a stuffed polar bear in a game trophy
room or does he have a sinus infection and has to mouth breathe :rotfl: ?
Just beyond strange

There is more I want to say, but since I didn't quote you I just plain forgot
Oh yeah the big mouth guest I have taken pictures there many times and heard a remark or two or got " the look" I have no qualms in telling someone to mind their own business...and have

When the NYPD patrol car was there it was a must do for this native NY family too :thumbsup2

Awww - I love the way you presented your Disney-fied Christmas gifts. Very creative!

 No worries about complaining about the heat. I feel like that is all I ever write about our August trip. It was just so HOT!

The Mike and Sully greet is a bit awkward, isn’t it?

Your Cars pics turned out cute!

I'm sorry about the less pleasing Monster M&G.. the original movie is WAY better then the MU. it's a cute movie.. little Mike is WAY TOO CUTE.. love the retainer on him..
it really does look like Sully is looking into outer space! What is the deal with that?!?!
Were you able to figure out what Mike wanted you to do? :confused3

again great pictures!!
:thumbsup2

I love my pressed penny too! I love taking that picture of the buildings from LMA. There is an angle too where you can also see Spaceship Earth but I've never sat in the right seat.

I do hope that my Mom likes her Christmas gift!

Glad you are here, I know you have been busy. Thanks on the cards!

You didn't even take the weekend off! You are a posting maniac!! That RnR ride photo is great!!! Jim cracks me up with his squeezed shut eyes and death grip. I LOVE that ride!!!

I did too take the weekend off. :rotfl: I posted that one Friday morning, I think you just missed it. I used to love RnRC but it makes me feel yucky now. :(

The pressed penny is fantastic! :thumbsup2

I know I keep having to come up with awesome stuff. Well, I did give her a pair of shoes for her birthday. Boring but she liked them.

Yeah, that Mike and Sulley m&g WAS indeed weird. You and Jim and Mike are all roaring and posing...and Sulley is just standing there all dumb-founded like. :confused3 :sad2:

Can't wait to read more! popcorn::

They need to do something better for that meet and greet. I've read several TRs where people had a horrible time meeting them. More coming up in a few minutes.

That's funny that you said you got more magic shots because you hadthe PP+. We got ONE magic shot our entire trip. :(

That is funny. The two trips before this one I got no magic shots at all. And on this trip with the PP+ card, we got at least three if I'm counting correctly.

Love the Cinderella card.

Thanks!

I've read a lot of unhappy reviews of the character meet with Sully and Mike. I can't beleive a "guest" yelled at Jim for being behind the sign. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I've read some bad reviews myself and now got to experience it too.

It was really funny. I just rolled my eyes at her and said that was the whole point of the picture to be behind the "forbidden" police line.

I didn't even realize I had made the reservation for Valentine's Day till I made the invitation. I wonder if they do anything special? Of course it's not really a romantic meal since it's just Mom and I. :rotfl:

Yes what the heck is up with Sulley & Mike I haven't seen them back there since the new look but have heard same kind of experiences :confused3 especially Sulley just standing there like a stuffed polar bear in a game trophy

I forget all the time what I want to comment about! Sometimes I try to take notes but that's a lot of work.

I just laughed at the lady and told her that was the whole point of the picture.

:goodvibes Great update!

Thanks!

Awww - I love the way you presented your Disney-fied Christmas gifts. Very creative!

Your Cars pics turned out cute!

Thanks, I hope they have fun opening them on Christmas morning!

I actually just found your August TR and started it. Gonna be a while before I'm totally caught up though, I'm only on page 11 right now.

That was the weirdest meet I've ever done!

It was a really strange greet. I agree that I liked the first movie better although the second one wasn't bad.

Nope, never did figure out what Mike wanted me to do. :confused3
