Rock On!! Because Devil Horns Do Belong at Disney. An Oct TR Updated 9/5 x10!

Just love the pics you got and I will have to keep in mind Christophers room is there..:thumbsup2I would love to try the mahi mahi.the meatball I would not ,can't take spicey because of my Krohns

Oh I love your display case! I have been looking for some type of shelving for our DVDs lately, and I really like that one. It fits quite a few DVDs in it too by the looks of it.

What a cute meet in Christopher Robin's room, and it is always fun to find rare characters!

I'm sorry that you weren't feeling well and I hope that that was the end of it and you felt well for the rest of the trip.

I love the prints that you got, and it is really a great opportunity to meet the artist and get your prints signed.

Love the new DVD case!

Rain stinks but at least you were able to duck into the shop and meet some characters! Jealous you got to meet Rabbit, that's awesome!

I kind of wish I tried the Cosmo Slushie! Glad the Beef Short Ribs were out of this world, but sorry the meatball was terrible and made you sick :(

So much for Jim not buying any tshirts :rotfl2:

I absolutely love both the prints you guys bought!!

I love my new DVD case too! I was really happy to see Rabbit! I don't normally do a lot of meet and greets but I read enough TRs to know how unusual it is to see him out.

The Slushie and Beef Short Ribs were my two favorite things from Food & Wine. While the meatball was gross I'm not sure that was the only reason I got a little sick. I have a very sensitive stomach and putting a bunch of strange foods in was probably not the best idea that night.

I knew Jim would buy some T-shirts, he always does. When we went to Universal a few years ago, we were only there three days and I think he bought at least 5 shirts/sweatshirts.

Fantastic update Ariana!

Glad you werea ble to avoid the rain by meeting Pooh and Piglet - such cute pictures!

The food all looks delicious - can't turn down food anywhere, LOL.

Then I LOVE the prints - both of them!! Excellent taste! So, have you hung them yet?

D~

I was so glad it only rained for about 20 minutes that night. Food & Wine would not have been very fun in the rain. And stumbling on that meet and greet was an added bonus!

Most of the food was and I'm the same way, can't turn it down. Which is probably why I ended up feeling crummy that night!

No, haven't hung the prints yet. I need to take them to get framed and just haven't had the time yet.

Wow, I had fallen quite behind with your report! I get to post my own version of Eating Around the World soon...cannot wait for that post! So far, there are only two things you tried that we also tried. :scratchin We went CRAZY trying things...but we five of us sharing, we definitely had more room in our tummies for a large number of samples. :cool1:

I don't think you where that far behind, just a few updates since I didn't update over Thanksgiving. There is so much to try at Food and Wine that it's hard to pick! I had it a little easier than most with my pickyness but I was trying some new stuff for me. I figured since we were using snack credits I wouldn't feel bad if I didn't like something. Can't wait to read your update about F&W.

Wonderful update: I would have hated that meatball too...actually I probably wouldn't have tried it :crazy2: I have NEVER had a good experience with lamb
ahh too bad you missed the cheese ravioli from Italy its the best I have ever tasted that wasn't made by a relative of mine..but it made a lot of sense to skip it

I usually do ok with lamb, had it at Raglan Road and loved it, but this one was definitely gross. I really wish I had been able to try the ravioli. You're not the only one I've heard say it's really good.

I met Greg too at Festival of the Masters ! what a very nice man and can you believe I fell in love with the very same 2 art pieces you got BIG surprise there huh ??? I didn't get either of them though, maybe next time I'm leaning toward the HM one

Greg was very nice, we really enjoyed meeting him. I'm not surprised you liked those two since they both have Pluto! I picked the one I did because I love Dumbo too so it was perfect for me.

Now I cannot believe I have NEVER been to Christopher Robinsons room I didn't even know it existed I have met with the characters there before, long time ago, but it was always outside if I remember right What luck that the " non-Disney loving husband" spotted Pooh & Rabbit ..a rare find indeed :goodvibes GREAT pictures so cute

I had a vague idea that there was a meet and greet somewhere in UK, but wasn't exactly sure where it was. We probably never would have found it if it hadn't rained so I guess it was lucky we had that little bit.

Ariana, welcome back and so glad you had a good trip with your mom.

I am too far behind to comment on everything (I've only scratched the surface of TR's I have to catch up on and then start my own TR).

I loved the rest of your Animal Kingdom Day. You got some great shots at Festival of the Lion King.

Your evening at Epcot is off to a great start. I've never seen Rabbit with Pooh Bear...that is so cool!

Funny Jim wouldn't change his shirt or buy a new one. :rotfl2:

Welcome back yourself, I can't wait to read your newest TR when you start it!

It was awesome to catch Rabbit! I think I only knew about that meet and greet area from reading your TRs.

I knew as soon as he said that he wasn't going to buy any shirts that he would but of course he doesn't listen to me. :rotfl:

There were 2 baby giraffes, however, one of them injured a leg and had to be put down as they were unable to fix it. It was Mosi I believe - Stefanie the giraffe's baby.

Awe, that's so sad. I tried to find so more information on them but wasn't sucessful.

Just love the pics you got and I will have to keep in mind Christophers room is there..:thumbsup2I would love to try the mahi mahi.the meatball I would not ,can't take spicey because of my Krohns

There's quite a few "hidden" meet and greets in World Showcase. The indoor Aladdin and Jasmine one in Morocco is another.

I really wanted to try the Mahi Mahi but just never had a chance. Maybe next year! I'm not sure what made me want to try the meatball as I don't like spicy stuff either. I guess I was trying to find something different to eat.

Oh I love your display case! I have been looking for some type of shelving for our DVDs lately, and I really like that one. It fits quite a few DVDs in it too by the looks of it.

What a cute meet in Christopher Robin's room, and it is always fun to find rare characters!

I love the prints that you got, and it is really a great opportunity to meet the artist and get your prints signed.

Thanks, I love the case too! They had a similar one that did not have glass doors. It definitely does hold a lot, the shelves are deep enough that you can put the movies two deep if necessary.

I did feel a little sick the next morning but by lunch time I was fine. I'm used to it though, with a sensitive stomach, vacation can always be a bit interesting.

HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Ariana.

i didn't know Rabbit did a meet and greet! SCORE!!!! and kept outta the rain... SCORE AGAIN!!! :thumbsup2

Love the art pieces.. and signed!! :worship: This trip is full of pixiedust:

so 3 tee shirts... But he didn't need any... :rotfl2: :lmao:
Ohh boys will always be boys!

Sorry you fell ill. that's the worst best news you picked right up. Bet that meatball did it to you in the worst way. You had already mentioned you are acute to texture, which falls in line to NOT liking that thing.

Yesterday was the 60 day mark for my February trip and I got all of our FP+ made last night! Well at least for my group of 6. My cousin is not having as easy of a time because half of her group doesn't have their tickets yet. You can't make the FP+ selections without tickets. I'm not sure if she just went ahead and made them for the ones that have tickets or if she is waiting. At least my 6 are taken care of! I really don't know if I'm going to do a PTR for February as the plans are still seriously up in the air. I may just throw an update or two in this TR, we'll have to see how it goes.

Since my next trip is approaching so fast, I'm going to speed this TR up a bit. If I can keep up with writing the installments, I'm going to try to post an update every day during the week. I'm too busy on the weekends to get on the DIS much. So, hold on for the ride, don't worry too much about getting behind, I know it's a busy time of year, just comment when you can.

As you can probably guess by the title, we headed to Hollywood Studios on Monday, October 21st. I was still feeling a little crummy from my Food & Wine experience the night before but I was in Disney so onward we go! I did feel a little yucky for the rest of the morning but by lunch time I was fine.

Toy Story Mania is one of my all-time favorite rides and I like to ride it more than once. We had a FP+ scheduled for that afternoon but I was hoping for the same luck I had in March. On that trip, they let us in the park at 8:30 and I got two rides in before the official park opening. With that in mind, I got us up and out the door by 7:50 am.

I must have been anxiously watching the time because I have in my notes that we waited 12 minutes for a bus. I’m usually not that precise. We got to HS and were through bag check and in line by 8:20. Even with getting there that early, we were still pretty far back in the line.

Those orange sunglasses are pretty awesome, aren’t they? I knew at that point that we were in for some large crowds on this day.

There wasn’t really munch to see or take pictures of where we were standing. I could just see Mickey on top of the world. A big crow was sitting on his head. I tried to get a picture but the crow took off just as I snapped. It still turned out to be a pretty neat picture.

We didn’t end up having the luck I was hoping for. The finally started letting people in at 8:45 am and then Jim’s finger scan didn’t work again. Darn him and his sweaty fingers! We lost about 5 minutes while a CM reset his biometrics again and then we were off to TSM. As we were walking, I debated getting a regular FP but decided against it even though the line for the FPs was pretty short. I was really trying to live within the FP+ system on this trip. We did see tons of people double dipping all week.

We got in line and it was still pretty empty despite the sign saying 25 minutes.

We did get lucky when we got to the steps as we were sent through the little blue gate right before the stairs. I love that little gate! They only send parties of one or two through it and you end up skipping past a lot of people.

So did Jim like the ride? Yes he did! Nowhere near as much as I do but he still had a lot of fun. And luckily I was able to just squeak out a win.

I was pretty impressed with my accuracy this time too. I’m usually a lot lower than that. This was definitely not my highest score but it’s a lot harder when there is someone else shooting at the same targets. I get much higher scores when I’m by myself.

When we got off, it was 9:05 am and the standby line now said 75 minutes. I knew it would be much shorter than that but I wanted to get to Tower of Terror before that line got too long. Plus I was having the same problem as the day before with drinking too much before we left the room. I was in need of a bathroom stop. So I made the painful decision to skip the second ride on TSM that morning and head down Sunset Blvd instead.

As we got near TOT, I saw that the line was already to the bathrooms. I was kind of shocked that the line was so long already but then I heard a CM saying that the ride was not open yet, they were still doing safety checks for the day. They hadn’t started letting people into the actual line yet. We made a quick bathroom stop then got in line. We were right across from the Beauty and the Beast Theater and in the direct sunlight. It was already hot but luckily the line started moving fairly quickly.

Can you see the wait time there? Yep, it says 45 minutes and this was at 9:15 am. I thought no way is it that long. But it did turn out to be a little longer than I expected, about 25 minutes because only one side was working. Some more pictures while we waited.

When we got into the Library, I decided to see how my camera did because it is pretty dark in that room. Once again I was very impressed with the pictures.

When we got to the boiler room, Jim got very excited when he saw the old GE boiler because he works for GE. I was honestly surprised he had made it this far, I thought for sure he would chicken out since he hated the ride on our Honeymoon. He said he was determined to ride everything though. At this point he asked me to take some pictures of the boiler so I did.

And then it was time to board our elevator! Jim got a little spooked when he realized we were in the front row but he got on any way.

I was really shocked when we got off and he said he didn’t mind the ride at all this time. He said the up and down part wasn’t bad and he liked how well the rest of the ride was done. Go figure, I worried about this ride for months before our trip for no reason at all. Our ride photo turned out just ok, it’s cute but nothing epic. I still haven’t gotten the timing of the ride photo on this one in order to do something funny.

HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Ariana.

i didn't know Rabbit did a meet and greet! SCORE!!!! and kept outta the rain... SCORE AGAIN!!! :thumbsup2

Sorry you fell ill. that's the worst best news you picked right up. Bet that meatball did it to you in the worst way. You had already mentioned you are acute to texture, which falls in line to NOT liking that thing.

HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO back at ya!

Rabbit doesn't usually do meet and greets, so it was exciting to see him. I guess he's really pretty rare to find out and about.

We did have a lot of pixie dust this trip! It was really nice meeting the artist and talking to him about his work.

Yep, he didn't need any t-shirts, right (said in my best sarcastic voice).

I'm so used to feeling ill when I eat that it's more of a surprise when I don't get sick. I'm not supposed to have caffeine, chocolate or alcohol, three of my favorite things. And too much spice sets me off too. Most of the time I just eat it anyway and deal with the consequences later. ::yes::

Awesome that Jim liked ToT this time!!! I am telling you, that man is SOOOO close to becoming a Disney fan, sooooo close! :thumbsup2 I really want to kick my TR into high gear too, but my best laid plans keep getting interrupted! :sad2:

Good morning Ariana, Say Hi to Jim for me:

Wow if I hadn't already bought/and love my new camera after the sad demise of the last one I would buy the one you got Really great pictures They're getting better and better great job

The picture at TOT I think is epic because not only did Jim actually do it but you're in a great spot I really like this picture :thumbsup2

Your next trip is approaching fast, how exciting!!

Glad Jim liked ToT this time. I see your Monsters Inc shirt and I love it :goodvibes

WOW! you ARE in a updating frenzy aren't you! NICE!!

TOT is one of our favorite rides. but never sat in front. always the last or second to the last!
pictures came out GREAT!!! did you use a flash in the library???

If you heard him grumbling about having to go back for the wedding in February you would not think he was a fan. :sad2: :rotfl: And I'm not even making him go to any parks!

We'll see if I can keep up with my idea of posting every day. The one I'm posting today is the last I have written and I am a very slow writer. :scared1:

I was so pleased with the new camera! The only thing I had trouble with was zooming in the dark. I think though that I've figured out the settings a little better so I can't wait to try some more pictures in February.

Wait till you see the RnRC picture I'm posting in the next installment, that one is epic!

I know, I'm getting so excited! As soon as Christmas is over, I'm going to start packing!

I wore the Monster Inc shirt specifically because I wanted to meet them. That turned out to be an interesting experience I'll probably get too in the next few updates
.

Great pics! :goodvibes

Thanks!

I really don't want to be writing two TRs at once so I'm going to try my hardest to finish this one by February. With Christmas in there, I'm not sure if it's going to happen.

The front of TOT is really awesome I hope you get to experience it sometime. Nope, no flash at all. I don't think I turned my flash on more than once or twice the whole week.

When we got off of TOT, it was 9:50 am already. Our first FP+ was at 10:00 am for RnRC so we headed that way. We sat on a wall across from the entrance until our FP+ time. I must have been bored because I took this totally random photo.

I have no idea what I was trying to take there. Right at 10 am, we got in the FP line and walked all the way to the entrance without stopping. We were let into the hall right before you go into the recording studio and then we stood there for what felt like forever. It was so hot and stuffy in that narrow little hall that I felt like I was being boiled alive. It was awful, I don’t sweat much and I was dripping. I’m pretty sure we only stood there for about 10-15 minutes but it felt more like an hour. It was such a relief when we were finally let into the studio. I of course grabbed Jim and lead him over by the exit door so we could get out first.

It wasn’t long before we were boarding our limo and Jim asked me when the photo was and then said let’s do devil horns. Sure, I had no problem with that since they are actually appropriate for this ride.

So I did the devil horns and we were off! When the ride was over I looked at Jim and he had his eyes squeezed shut and his hands were white knuckled on the handles. Uh oh, I don’t think he liked this one. He asked if it was over and I said yes and he said oh good and released his death grip. I have to admit myself that I really do not enjoy this coaster much anymore. For some reason, I find it much rougher than either SM or EE and it also really does a number on my stomach. I was feeling a bit queasy and beat up when we got off. I’m really afraid this ride might be on my do not do list from now on which makes me sad.

We headed over to look at the ride photo and there it was! The epic ride photo I had bought PP+ for! This one makes it all worth the extra money. As we were standing there laughing at the photo and waiting for the CM to write the number down for us (they sometimes have a CM by the ride photos to write the number down for you. If there wasn’t one, I just took a picture of the number to take to the desk) another CM approached and ask us if we would like to ride again for our anniversary. We both turned to him and said NO!!!!!! The look of shock on his face was pretty funny but I quickly explained that the ride had made me queasy and that Jim had hated it. I thanked him and told him we were grateful for the offer but another ride was just not in the cards for us.

So have I keep you waiting long enough for this epic photo? OK, here it is.

There is just so much going on in this photo. Jim apparently did not hold the devil horns pose long enough. The look on his face and death grip is the exact same one he had at the end of the ride. I managed to hold onto my devil horns and must have been screaming at the top of my lungs. I know I kept my eyes open but I think the bright flashes from the camera must have made me blink. Then there’s the tongue guy in the front who looks so much like my brother it’s a little creepy. The photo makes me laugh every time I see it.

We spent a few minutes looking around the store but since there was nothing Van Halen, Jim wasn’t interested so we left. Jim then decided he needed to pose with the big guitar.

We then moseyed our way up Sunset Boulevard and stopped for some PP pictures.

OK, I don’t do scared very well.

And then we got some magic shots. Jim’s expression in this one cracks me up.

We went in and out of all the stores along Sunset Blvd as we made our way towards the Great Movie Ride. I don’t think we bought anything at that time, just did some browsing. The wait time for GMR was 30 minutes but it fit with the schedule I had laid out and we got in line. Everything had a long line by this time. This was the first time I’ve ever had to wait in line outside the building though.

I continued to take pictures through the line to keep myself occupied. Jim was pretty much glued to his work e-mail any time we were in line.

Jim did have a bit of a crisis while we were waiting. Sometime before we got in line, he bumped up against something and cracked the bottle of hand sanitizer in his pocket. He had to throw it out and he was in a tizzy trying to figure out how he was going to live without it for the rest of the day. He had another bottle back in the room but that wasn’t helping him. Then he remembered he had some Handi Wipes in his bag. Whew, that was a close one, crisis averted.

I was kind of shocked to see the Mary Poppins horse gone. I thought that display was a permanent one. They had some outfits in that case instead but I can’t remember which movie they were from.

We ended up going through the movie previews in the line at least three times before we made it into a car. I tried to tell Jim it was a high speed roller coaster but I couldn’t keep a straight face.

I discovered almost immediately that my camera was awesome on this ride so I took about 3 million pictures. Well, I may be exaggerating a little bit there. I don’t think any of you need commentary for this ride so sit back and enjoy the pictorial ride through the GMR.

Continued from Previous Post

When we first got on the ride I realized that both Cowboy and Gangster were running today! Unfortunately we were in the back car which meant we got Gangster as usual. I think I’ve figured out that when there are two cars running, the first one goes to the Cowboy area and the second one stops in the Gangster area. Jim said he loved the Gangster and was glad we got that rather than Cowboy. I on the other hand had seen the Gangster one so many times that I was hoping for Cowboy this time. We got a lady gangster again like I had on my March trip.

Then we got to the land of the Munchkins which is my favorite section so you can probably guess what happened. Yep, I took more pictures.

And that concludes our tour of the movies. Jim really enjoyed this ride, he said it was more his pace than the last two we rode.

Up next: To Infinity and Pigs in Space

Good Morning Ariana :)

I LMAO with the RNRC picture yes you're right EPIC especially Jim's face and oh how brave of him to do devil horns OUTSIDE the ride :rolleyes1 :scared1: I would feel the same exact way if I didn't have hand sanitizer with me in any park

I think you're right RNRC worse than EE but I am amazed you can do SM I have done it in dark & with lights on and its still horrible for me

Mary Poppins horse went out to CA for the D23 Expo, not sure if they are keeping it out there ( probably tying in with the new movie coming out " Saving Mr Banks" & I think its also the 50th anniversary of Mary Poppins isn't it ? )

You know sometimes I LIKE a 30 min wait time you see things you usually blow right past and miss it all I mean look at the pictures you got in GMR line

Anxious for more...........................

Awesome ride photo! I'm not a fan of RnR myself. DBF made me ride a bunch of times because he loves it, but it kind of scares the crap out of me! :rotfl: I was glad to not have to ride it this past trip with Mom & Dad.

Love your magic shots with Chip and all the GMR photos!

MORNING MY FAVORITE FOODIE!!! :lmao:

KNOCK OUT PICTURES!!! they are amazing! well.... ummmmmm at least you had someone in the picture doing the devil horns! :rotfl:

Poor guy.. i am a fan of both ROCKIN and Tower of Terror.. so do my kids.
The theme is amazing.

you have a ton of GMR pictures! This trip i am promising myself to SLOW down in the lines to get the shot i want. I must.

Ok I am freezing here so more warm Florida pictures please!!!

It's funny because I have no problem at all with SM. Remember in March I rode it 4 times in a row! But RnRC gets me every time.

Mary Poppins horse went out to CA for the D23 Expo, not sure if they are keeping it out there ( probably tying in with the new movie coming out " Saving Mr Banks" & I think its also the 50th anniversary of Mary Poppins isn't it ? )

Ah, that makes sense. I can't wait to see that movie! I don't think I'll get to it this weekend, I've got too much to finish up for Christmas.

You know sometimes I LIKE a 30 min wait time you see things you usually blow right past and miss it all I mean look at the pictures you got in GMR line

It was nice to see everything in the GMR line but the movie clips did get a little old the third time around.

RnRC is my Mom's favorite so I think I'll be dragged onto it in February but if I do another solo trip I'm definitely skipping it!

Great update! :)

Thanks!

It totally cracks me up when you call me a foodie since I am such a picky eater. I do like to eat though and the restaurants are a huge part of any Disney trip for me!

Thanks on the pictures, I LOVE my new camera!

Jim actually didn't mind TOT but I will never get him on RnRC again. I've always loved RnRC but the last few times I've ridden it I've come off feeling sick even with the anti-nausea drugs I take.

More coming up in just a minute!
