So, I've never really been a fan of rollercoasters, but I'm dying to ride this one. I KNOW I'll be scared out of my mind but I'd love to do it. Can you guys tell me your experiences, and some basic info. about the ride? (Like how long it lasts, and stuff like that.) Thanks!

(By the way, first post! :cool1: )

I do not know how long it lasts, but it sure is a thriller. I keep my eyes closed the entire time. I have ridden it twice, & still can not bring my self to ride it with my eyes open. My DD "11", says it is super cool when you watch where you are going. They blare aerosmith, so that pumps you up even more. This is my DS "7" favorite ride. You can do it, you have to at least try it once.

It is an amazing rush!! There is one 360 dgree turn and some corkscrew twists. The "take-off" is the highlight of the ride! You just shoot out of the gate and right into that loop. Keep your head planted back into the headrest and enjoy the trip!

You can do it. :-) It's not terribly long and while there are rolls, there are also people who SWEAR they never went upside down, so it can't be too bad. The music is a cool addition and the speakers in your seat are set so you get the right songs at the right time - it's not just blaring through the whole room.

Try it once. If you hate it, you never have to try it again. That's my theory, anyway. :-)

I'm not a coaster fan, but have ridden R&R 3 times.
Is it one of my favorites? Not really.
I like the ride after the take off. The take off is too intense for me.
re: going upside down..... you'll never know it
I think the ride is only like 2 min. long anyways, so try it!

Awesome, thanks you guys! I'm really worried about the 360 turn...I've never been upside down on a rollercoaster before. I know they're not really the same, but compared to Tower of Terror, how bad is the "thrill" factor? I rode that a couple years back (I was probably 11?) and was scared out of my mind, but now looking back I think I want to do it again.

Congrats. on your first post!!

We (DD :cheer2: 13 and myself) love this coaster.
You go from zero to near 60 mph in the first three second!!

There are several loops and corkcrews and the best
part is its in the dark with Aerosmith songs blasting away.

so cool!! :cool1:
Get to MGM at the park opening and ride it first thing!
We will be there this weekend and can't wait!!

If you're a first-timer, I would suggest sitting closer to the front. I rode in the very back seat last time, and WOW -- what an e-ticket ride!! Which was fine by me, since I'm the ride junkie...but sitting near the front might be a little less intense for someone who is already a little nervous. Don’t be intimidated by the fast takeoff, that’s my favorite part of the ride!!

Remember, it's over in just a couple of minutes, and you never have to ride it again if you don't want to. But I hope you LOVE it like I do!! :car:

I won't ride ToT, don't like that dropping feeling. I LOVED RnRc.....a huge rush, only went on once, "to test it out to see if DD6 could go on it" That's what I told DH at least, and it was true....I just really wanted to go on it. And NO I did not let DD go on, she'd just reached the height requirement, but had only been on big coasters on one trip to a park this past summer, and had not been upside down yet......maybe next time for her.
The launch is great, I think my eyes were closed for most of the time, and I'm not so sure I was crazy about it right afterwards, but I can't wait to go back on it again---with DD next time!

I do not go on roller coasters - but I LOVE this ride. There are no drops - just a loop and some twist and turns. The take off is amazing - kind of scary the first time - but after that it is quite a rush. I say give it a try. I hope you enjoy it! :teeth:

I love the Rock N Rollercoaster. You zoom through the inside of a giant warehouse, its dark, and your car goes through things such as giant donuts and past palm trees, all illuminated by blacklight. It's a really cool experience. When I went last August, I rode it 9 times I believe. Not all in a row (though 5 of the 9 were back to back), so it was really fun.

Hate drops, just hate 'em. But, I love RnRC!! I finally succumbed to peer pressure back in '01 and rode it. I haven't looked back since. It is very fast...put your head back and keep it there, especially for the take-off. Then, you hit that loop. The only way I knew for sure that I was really upsidedown was that my shoulders hit the restraints!! It's that smooth. I just love it. Oh, and I hate ToT....absolutely hate free fall. I did it with friends last Dec and I lucked out (much to their dismay!!!) since we got the wuss sequence which isn't all that bad.

MY FAVORITE RIDE!!!! :cool1:

I was scared to death at first since you can't look at the ride and analyze it. It is soooo much fun! The take off is the best and nothing is scary about it (and I am scared of coasters)..... I have ridden this over 50 times between 2 trips. I love it and would stand in line all day to ride it.

fun ride, very fast and dark, kind of like space mountain on steroids.
the loop is so fast you hardly notice it ( hmm does that make it better or worse :rotfl2: )
i have some disc/back problems and messed it up by not keeping my head back on the headrest at take of but it was fun enough i tried it again once i could walk( yeah, it must be a sickness)

that and tot are my pretty much only reasons to go to MGM

LOVE THIS RIDE! I don't do the scary Six Flags type of ride, but I love Disney rides. It's not scary to me, but more exciting. I've probably ridden it 20 times!

It is my favorite ride but I'm always nervous everytime I ride it. As everyone else has said, it goes very fast, it's dark except for the street signs you fly by, and it's over in about 2.5-3 minutes.

There is a website www.rocknrollercoaster.com that gives lots of specific details about the ride, and if you want to be surprised don't click on the video, but if it doesn't matter-click on the full video from a guy named Martin from the UK. You can't see really anything but it will give you an idea from someone riding it and taping it.

The best part to me is Aerosmith blasting while you ride and the ride is sychronized to the music so that makes it even better!! It worth trying at least once, a great thrill ride!!

Are you serious?!!?!? I was scared to death to ride this...never been on an upside down ride. Well DH takes DD13 and DS10 on and they were so excited I let them talk me into going on. So off I go with my 2 kids (DH was back with DD7). We had fast passes and the lined moved so dang fast I didn/t have time to whimp out!! We get on and I'm by myself in the last seat of the last car :scared1: My first time upsidedown and I get the e-ticket seat!!

But you know what...it wasn't bad. I LOVED the launch!! AWESOME!! I didn't even realize we went upsidedown! I'll go on it again when we go back!!

My advice try it....be brave...it's Disney and Aerosmith what's not to love!!

I hate coasters, but did this one for DS. I must admit that I thought I had made a mistake within the first 10 seconds. The takeoff really takes you by surprise, no matter how many times you stand there and watch. It was awesome though, very smooth. :thumbsup2

A must must must do! I am a ride junkie and this and Tot are my fixes. The drops on Tot probably freak me out a little...but not enough to keep me off of it. Rock-N-Roll has got great music (Aerosmith), great black light effects, great rolls, great speed, only down fall...to short. After you climb into your limo, just sit back, put your head back against the head rest, and hold on.
