I've never been on this. I hate rollercoasters. I did Space Mountain on my honeymoon because I promised DH, but I haven't done it since. I had a BAAAAAAD experience with Splash Mountain. I don't do Big Thunder. I *do* love Test Track. Fast---good, dropping--BAD.

DH is insisting that I at least TRY Rock 'n Roll. It's my DD's favorite ride (she was 7 on our last trip and wanted to do nothing else).

I'm thinking NO. Our big discussion was if there were any drops and how bad they are. I said I'd come here. He also said to just look at the building and see how small it is. I said it goes BELOW the building. Am I correct?

My wife loves roller coasters and won't ride RnRC -- it has loops.

To my recollection RnR really doesn't have big drops. But it's fast -- the total ride time is also about 2 and a half minutes. There is a corkscrew and a loop.

I am NOT a coaster fan but for whatever reason I prefer this coaster. Being in the dark, I can't see what's ahead with enough warning to get scared :)

Also, I am more comfortable on RnR than Space Mountain because RnR has a shoulder harness so you are nice and tight in the seat. With SM I always feel like I'm going to lose something over the side or fall out!

So I have become a fan of RnR, albeit reluctantly! The launch into the ride (something like 0-60 mph in 2 seconds) is amazing. You really don't have time to think about being scared :teeth:

Rock'n'Roller Coaster has multiple loops -- and it's in the dark. On the one hand, because it's in the dark, you almost don't know you're doing loops. On the other hand, IT'S IN THE DARK. Personally, I love it -- for you, I'd stay away.

It's over quickly and you don't know what's coming. There are loops, but since you can't see them, it doesn't feel so bad. In my old age, I have started getting queasy after riding Space Mountain, I think it's the jerking around more than the drops. I never feel sick after Rock 'n Roller Coaster.

I love this coaster -- it's very smooth and I don't think you would feel a "drop" although it is fast and intense. My daughter hates drops (won't go back on Tower of Terror because the dropping made her feel sick) and she loves Rock n Roller Coaster. Finally it only lasts about 90 seconds, so why not try it once and if you hate it it will be over quickly!

I LOVE Rock N' Roll rollercoaster, but it isn't for everyone. My sister likes coasters ok, she can take them or leave them, but she wanted to kill me for making her go on RNR as she was a lovely shade of green for a bit after the ride.

RNR is FAST and very smooth, but it does have loops, I'm not sure if it's better or worse for you that you can't see them.

I am scared to death of roller coasters and got swindled into riding RnR(was told it wasn't a real roller coaster). But it actually was alot of fun. they play music and they have street signs lit. I never felt any drops and never realize we ever went upside down. actually it wasn't till we watched the disney planning dvd that we realized we went upside down. The scariest part of the whole ride was when you take off. It goes really fast, but you said fast is good. I say go for it. I'll bet you will love it. As for tot forget it. You would never get me on it.

I always said I would NEVER EVER EVER go on a Rollercoaster with Loops...... but for some reason I tried R&R and it was a BLAST!

The thing is... 1. It is in the dark, so most of the time you cannot see what is coming. 2. The loops are over with before you even realize you are upside down. and 3. The music is so loud and fun that you find yourself singing and screaming to the top of your lungs!

What a fun ride, and cannot wait to ride it again!

I HATE rollercoasters!!! I will not ride anything with a drop. Fast and loopy are ok...just no DROPS!!! I had a blast on RnR...it was fun. There are no DROPS!! I believe it has 2 corkscrews type loops. They weren't a big deal at all. YOu do go very fast..the take off was the worse part of it all. Plus, there is the music and the neon street signs that are everywhere during the ride. I have rode Space Mt.and Big Thunder Railroad. I thought they were ok..but didn't feel safe in them at all. I am a small person and have this fear of flying out!!! You are buckled in very tight on RnR.
I refuse to ride ToT and Splash Mountain. I just won't do drops...Hate the feeling of falling. I won't even fly. OTS...but what is EE like in AK? Does anyone know if there are drops? What ride is it like in comparisson? Have a wonderful trip and try riding RnR....itt really was fun!!

A hint my SIL gave me before my first ride..when the countdown gets to 2 take a deep breath and hold it. You'll know when you can let it out. The 0-60 in two seconds can take your breath away and make you panic a bit. I wouldnt know......I always hold my breath. I didnt even ride Space Mountain the last time because of the jerkiness but couldnt wait to get back on RNR. I'm sort of hoping my dd will be able to ride it but then again worry about her since I dont think I can get her to hold her breath. She is over 47"but not quite 48 the last time I checked (2 weeks ago) and we leave in 1 week.

I must first start by saying I hate roller coasters!!! But the only way that I was going back to Disney was to tell my husband that I would ride on RnR. So I booked the trip and kept my promise. I'm not a fan of heights and my sisters scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. That being said...I love RnR!!!!! First like everyone else has said...it's in the dark so you can't see what's really happening. And it's all positive G's, meaning you don't get that sick feeling in your stomach. The coaster starts out with a very quick inversion. You can't even tell that you are doing one. The first time I rode, I had my eyes closed for all most all of the ride. Only opened them for like 3 seconds!!! :rotfl2: But we went back a couple days later and I rode it again with eyes wide open. And it's one of my favorite rides! It's one of those things that you have to try even if you think you can't make it through...you can!!!! Also there are NO big drops in this ride at all!!! A trick I learned was just before you take off try to cough a deep cough. It's something with the pressure of the cough that hits a nerve in your back...and well yeah that's what I was told to do...and it worked. :confused3 Another suggestion that DD best friend told me to do on the ToT was to laugh out loud. I don't know how that works, but it takes your mind off of it.

I hope that you at least try it!!! You never know...you may really like it!!! Here's a little pixie dust for good luck!!! pixiedust:

I love the mountains and tot.... RnR scares me, my fiance loves it. I ride it for him, but do not like it. The first loop is not bad, I am not a fan of the cork screw and I also do not like how fast it takes off. I was not prepared for it the first time and could not make a noise until half way through and I think then it was something like take me back to space mountain. I do think it is better than the other upside downs b/c of the dark and I do not know how high I am or what I am doing , so I can handle it. Try it once and just see...I love drops and I do not think there were any.

I'm a huge chicken when it comes to thrill rides and I also hate drops. I still cannot get myself to ride Tower of Terror. But RNRC I can do, because there are no drops. It's just FAST. No matter how many times I've been on it, I still get nervous before it takes off, but I end up loving it. Go for it! :thumbsup2

IMO the RnRC is the best ride in all of WDW. My favorite thing to do is get to MGM when it opens, head right for the coaster and ride it three times in a row before the line starts getting too long. I love it. :thumbsup2

Like others have stated it's very fast and in the dark. Since you said fast is good, drops are bad, maybe you should give it a try.

How do you feel about upside down? :)

This is the exact way I feel but I wanted to add #4, there are no big drops. I'm not a huge roller coaster fan because I really don't like drops...but RnR has none of them...it's just a fun, fast ride that's over before you know it.

RnRC is great! It has 2 loops in the beginning, but they are fast and you can't really tell if you're upside down or not. Then you go into helixes, which is where you just turn around and stuff. Then you go into a corkscrew, which you definitely know you're upside down, but again, it goes by quick. There are no drops, just 3 loops. It's in the dark, but you can still see the track when certain parts light up. It goes fast, and it's a great ride. If you need more info, check out http://www.rocknrollercoaster.com/index2.html

This site is all about RnRC, and has pictures and a video (tho you can't see much).

Have fun! It's not a bad ride at all. I'd recommend just trying it once.
