We are planning a trip to Rochester Minnesota and plan to stay in our RV instead of a hotel. I see online there are several RV parks to choose from. We will be attending a dance competition at the convention center. Do you have any suggestions? Any that are more kid friendly than others, nicer than others, or more accessible than others? Oh, and we will be there in mid June.
Thanks in Advance!

I have no clue but wanted to say to have fun. I visited Rochester 3 summers ago and loved it. DH had surgery at the Mayo and it was an awesome place, town and people. Enjoy your trip!!

I don't know about Rochester, but ...

Unless you have tried to get a dancer ready in your setup prior to this trip, think carefully. We stayed in our trailer when we went to nationals last year and I can say that getting her ready for competition was a huge hassle. Not enough space to hang her costumes and store her props / accessories, the permeating campfire smell (again, the costumes), the dirt and the space and lighting needed to do hair and make-up was a large inconvenience. Not to mention the strange looks she got with all of the makeup on and her hair done. We found that if we got her ready in a teammate's hotel room it was much, much easier.

The upside was that we got to really relax and be away from the mayhem of the host hotel. It can work, just make sure you have a good plan!

Have fun and Good Luck!!

Buckalew11...Thanks for the well wishes. I passed through Rochester 2 years ago and we only stayed one evening in a hotel. I have stayed a lot of places and it was definately the nicest evening and morning I have experienced in a small hotel, not because the hotel was that great, but because the people were so incredibly friendly. I am still amazed at the conversations between the staff and the other guests and us.

AboutTheMouse...Thank you for giving me some good things to think about to make our experience better. I do think the smoke could be a problem, so I am glad you gave me a heads up on that! It's always nice when someone has been there, done that and we can learn from their experience. I appreciate it and thanks for the luck!

PM me tomorrow with questions. I'm using an iPod tonight which is low in batteries.

Off hand silver lake trailer park is your best bet.

Thanks Herc. Sorry, I haven't been able to be on for a few days, so just now saw your reply. I had seen Silver Lake and thougt it looked pretty nice. Gonna go check it out again.

Silver lake trailer park is a small trailer park that is wooded and right on the zumbro river. It's all fenced in because it's just off broadway which is our main st running north and south thru town.

It's in a congested area by a wendys, that's the downside.
