Such a tragic loss. There is just a cruel irony in the fact that someone who brought the world so much joy was unable to feel the love that the world had for him.
There really aren't words to fill the gap that his passing will leave.

This news absolutely broke me. I feel empty. For me, and many people, he was a large chunk of our childhood. Jumanji remains one of my favorites to this day.

I have a couple family members who knew him personally, one went to Julliard with him, and one used to hang out with him in the early days of his career. They said he was always "on", always performing, and I can't imagine how exhausting that must have been.

And even though I didn't know him, I feel like I did. There's a huge hole in my heart today.

It just seems like it would be so exhausting to be him. It was obvious that brain never turned off. In a way, what happened yesterday just didn't shock me because of that.

Such sad news. Of all the roles he's played and the charities he's been involved with, I keep doing back to that St Jude ad he appeared in. Not only was he a stellar talent, but from all accounts that I'm seeing, he also was just a kind soul. May he rest in peace.

This must be so hard for you. I know it brought it all back for me. My sister killed herself 2 years ago. Yesterday was her son's birthday. My sister and I raised her kids on Robin William movies like Jumanji and Hook. My mind was spinning last night with thoughts of Robin, my sister and her kids...and what it all means. Still have a stomach ache.

How about some compassion and sympathy. I know (I personally have been affected by suicide) it's heartbreaking for those left behind. The pain and suffering that these poor people are dealing with - where they feel that is the only way to bring relief and peace - I just can't imagine. How can you - or anyone who has not walked in their shoes, who don't know how they were suffering possibly be so heartless!

I've really loved a lot of his work - but honestly, if his death was a suicide, it does make me lose some of that respect for him. He was in such a position to do good in the world, that to throw that away seems unimaginable.

Some of my first thoughts were for the children he has worked with - in Mrs. Doubtfire, Jumanji, and other films. Even though they're older now, they will be shaken so deeply by this. About a year ago, a teacher at my son's karate school committed suicide. This was a person who spent his life telling children not to give up...just giving up. They felt lied to, betrayed, incapable of understanding. While I still feel awful for people with depression, it really heightened the selfish part of suicide for me to see how many other people were hurt.

I wish we could get the message out to anyone considering suicide that help is available, and there is always another choice.

A very strong, but incorrect statement. I do not hate anyone. I have very dear friends from all walks of life.

There are some, who will stoop at nothing to interject politics, even if, the references are thinly veiled. It's inappropriate and boorish behavior (both sides). IMO
