I think I just saw a roach in my kitchen. I tried to kill it and it disappeared! I am so grossed out!!!!!

We have a contract with Terminix, but I am pregnant, so I am not sure what they can treat with?

Anyone have roaches treated while they were pregnant!?

Omg! I think I would freak out if I saw one of those more than I would a spider! Especially a giant one! Omg I don't even wanna think about it!!

It wasnt a giant one, thank goodness. I would sell the house! :rotfl2: oh, and down here they call those "Palmetto bugs" like it makes them pretty! :crazy2:

And DH is overseas this week until at least this weekend!!!

I think I am going to shower, dress and then rip the kitchen apart!

When we see them, we sprinkle Boric acid powder around in hard to get to places (behind stove, washer, dryer, dishwasher...). That seems to get rid of them and doesn't hurt people/pets unless they ingest it somehow.

Get Combat traps. They are incredible. No smell, no vapor, you just put them in the corners of your cabinets, etc. and you will never see another one. Believe me, I live in an apartment building in NYC and I haven't seen one in years!

Yikes that is so scary, I stayed at a 3 star hotel in San Diego once and there was a roach in the bathtub/shower, it was my first time and only time seeing a roach, it was totally disgusting. Needless to say, I checked out of that hotel, apparantly, that area had a roach problem. :faint:

I am off to walmart for some of these. I think if I am careful, they should be okay to put around while pregnant.

I may also throw out my coffee machine. That's where it crawled out from under and back to when I tried to kill it....then it disappeared, so I am afraid it crawled up into the bottom and is making baby roaches! :faint:

I think they are safe because you don't touch what is inside and the bugs bring it back to where they are living, eat it, and it kills them all. Good Luck!

You don't live in Florida, do you? :teeth: Palmetto bugs are like squirrels here, just as many and can be just as big.
The Combat traps do work good, just keep them away from pets. My dog seems to try to get to them for some reason?
We also have one of those ultrasonic pest repellers...seems between the Combat and that we're pretty much bug free.
