Riviera Direct Price Per Point Pool

Did they get rid of the cabin/bungalow model for Riviera? I've always planned on getting 75-100 pts direct from Disney but since its going to be a smaller contract it will likely be used for smaller accommodations on one of the two trips when it is just the wife and I. Seems like studios are a joke at CCV most of the time even if you are 11 months out. If I could buy at BLT direct I'd just plan on adding on additional resale points for BLT and stay at bigger rooms over there when multiple family members tag along and use my AKV points for studios but I wouldn't want to add on resale over at CCV.

In a month. My guide told me they expect to put the resort up for sale in March, and all the other information he shared with me during our conversation ended up being correct, so I'll take his word for it.

If they start selling contracts in March does that mean they plan to open earlier than mid December? Hopefully?

Isn't it announced as a Fall opening, not late fall? I haven't been past it recently to see the progress but had more or less thought it would be planned for October. Maybe a little sooner but no later than early November. The cash side would be erring on the conservative side for initial bookings but it is the first time they've offered cash bookings before they've announced and started sales. I never took that date to equate to an opening date of the resort.

Plus a March sales date would allow them to still open in December, or even later. People could just start booking stays in March for the opening date, as long as it is open before next February (it is bound to be), they would still be able to book using 11 month points.

I have seen where Disney said it is opening in the fall but they are taking cash reservations starting December 16 which technically is fall. Winter doesn't start until the 21st I think. DH and I are thinking of going down in the first week of November and would like to stay at Riviera but don't know if it will be open yet or not.

I thought there was a law that said timeshare companies could only start selling contracts a couple of months before the resort opened. I could be wrong though.

I think CCV started selling in February (could’ve been March), and it opened in July.

Regarding when to start selling versus when you can book: they can do anything they want. With CCV (and possibly others), only new owners could book for a certain time until they opened it up to everyone else. It was less than 7 months when they held the inventory for a time. I hope this helps.

I am anxiously awaiting the charts...would like to try for a day or two there during our 2020 trip to try it out.

So probably no chance to book a cash stay in early November then?

No, nothing about 2 months. I believe they have to be at a certain point in construction.

There’s definitely a chance depending on the official opening date. It really depends on when they open booking to non-owners as well as the opening date. If they open booking in April, for example, to non-owners you’ll have just as much a chance as every other current member who doesn’t buy points there. They haven’t announced an official opening date, so it’s realy anyone's guess. All we know is that it will be open in mid-December for sure. I had heard that they were shooting to open it by late October, but I haven’t seen anything about an official date in a while.

I still think it's very likely it will be open by then but we don't know yet. More info that would include an opening date will be coming in the next month or two I'd believe.

March when the Riviera points go on sale at $188 per point without incentives which is what CCV is today.
I just heard from somebody who knows somebody that knows somebody who knows what Riviera will be priced at and the incentives. They said, $198.00 per point with a minimum contract of 125 points with one large popcorn in a souvenir bucket and two Mickey bars.

You can make make a cash reservation on the website starting on 12/16/19 it looks like. Nothing before that seemed to work. If you are interested you can have a 6 night stay in a 2 bedroom preferred view for just over $13000! If you need a 3 bedroom i'm afraid it looks like it will run you about $23000!

Can you trade the Mickey bars for rice crispy treats?

Supposedly, the guides have a meeting on Monday about Riviera. It’s probably to introduce the charts, new rules, etc.

My guess is after it’s out at that meeting they don’t want it leaking as rumors, so

I think that there’s a very good chance that the charts are released with Monday’s nightly computer refresh.

Or....

DVC has a penchant to release info on Sunday.

Maybe Sunday morning.
