Sorry If this has been posted earlier but looked for this topic and didn't see anything specific. Saw this on WDW News Today.

"According to an internal document floating around, Rivers of Light at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will make its very first performance on April 6th.

The April 6th showing will be for Animal Kingdom cast only. All other Walt Disney World cast members will have access to previews of the show on April 8th, 9th, 12th, and 13th.

There is some sort of “premium” annual pass holder and Disney Vacation Club member preview event being held on April 15th which will hold 4,000 guests, but we expect this to have an added fee (should be announced soon). Two normal AP and DVC preview nights are scheduled right after that for April 16th and 17th.

A press event premiere of the show will be held on April 19th and the show will of course open on April 22nd to all guests.

According to the document, showtimes once the show debuts will be at 8:30PM and 9:45PM nightly."

So my big question is will Disney officially announce anything about these preview nights or will it be just a word of mouth type thing?

Wondering if FP is going to be set up prior to the 22nd (and dining packages).

This has been talked about, it seems this is old news as the previews were cancelled.

so how do you know it's been canceled?
I can't confirm one way or the other. WDWNT is the only site reporting this right now. The HUB (CM internal website) had preview events like this listed but it was taken down a while back. Various sources are saying this is just old news and it has been cancelled. I do know Rivers of Light has been having technical difficulties as of late and they are going to cut it close to make the dates they need too. Knowing that makes me really believe the previews were cancelled. I do believe a media only event is still scheduled for 4/19.

I think it's safe to say you shouldn't make plans around those previews if there's no official announcement from Disney.

ROL is off until at least mid-May. Still having technical issues. Anyone going in April can forget about planning.

Ok so no matter when it may open will there be any preview to open this show? Many of local Passholders would love to see before the it gets to crazy if not I'll wait till the end of the busy season in the summer.

Who knows right now. They are more worried about getting this show ready before the busy summer.

I know this dude not my question but never mind I'll wait and see not internet speculate

It's possible they'll have a preview but nobody knows right now. You can't schedule one without a working show.

1) Disney can do anything and try to put a spin on it.
2) They can show illustrations and pass them along to the media.
3) And, the media will eat it up.

There is no doubt to that. It's just this is a brand new show with new tech that isn't working correctly right now.
