Rivers of Light- Asia viewing area FP

Ok, so I am doing a solo trip(yay- my first one) July 4th week, will be at AK on July 5. I have a fast pass for Rivers of Light- Asia viewing area. Is it needed- especially with just me. It ties up my FP's for the rest of the day. I want to get a good seat, and I have never seen the show. Any thoughts?

I have only watched it in the FP viewing area but I got that FP at 8pm the day of. Not sure that will be possible during a holiday week. I got there at 9 for a 9:15 show and it looked pretty packed so if you don't want to use a FP I would just make sure to get there early. Or book a dining package.

Were there seats? Or was it a standing area?

There was plenty of seats in the FP area. Like still a whole section empty for FP when I got there but it looked like the non FP area was pretty full. Being just one person I'm sure you could come at the last minute and squeeze in somewhere though.

hmmmm, I will maybe try to squeeze in then in the non FP area. I just hate the idea of no FP's all day, although I guess I could do single rider for some.

If its a busy performance, being "just one person" showing up last-minute can actually mean being "just one person standing with 268 other guests all still waiting in line to enter the theater."

Agreed which is why I said I didn't know what it would be like during a holiday week. My experience was two nights ago and I saw people still finding seats at 9:14 for the 9:15 show.

I would get there early or try for a FP for it after you use your initial three. I have had great luck getting hard to get fp's by refreshing over and over.

I decided to book the Rivers of Light dining package, so I will be having breakfast at Tusker House as part of that package. I love that character meal, hopefully it won't be odd that I am an adult going there by myself. haha
