My DH just received some trading cards from ebay. They are ones from AK. A couple of the cards show river boats that take you around the waterways around the Tree of Life. Does anyone know if these actually exist? Or was it an attraction that Disney decided not to have after these cards were published. Any thoughts?

This ride was around in 1998, at park opening. However, by the start of the Millennium Celebration (October 1, 1999), they were discontiuned.

The main landing is now used as a character greeting area (pooh and friends).
One of the boats was refurbished and modified and is now used for the Magical Gatherings MK Fireworks Cruise.
One of the boats is being used for a new entertainment offering along the riverbanks in Asia. The remaining craft are backstage at DAK.

You aren't missing much AT ALL by not having ever ridden them. The lines were LONG and the ride was BORING. All you could see was greenery and the tops of some buildings.

We went to DAK the summer it opened and waited well over an hour for these boats. This was the most poorly designed entrance and exit of any ride I had ever seen. The poor people in wheelchairs had to fight their way back through the line just to leave the dock after their ride was over! Once you finally made it on the boat they had CMs with spiders in plastic cases talking about them - NOT worth the hour wait at all!

The problem was that people would line up for as much as 90 mins. thinking it was an attraction when it was really a mode of transpotation like the Friendships at Epcot.
