Rise of the Resistance to utilize normal queue starting Sept 23.

We get to Disney on Sept. 24, and our first HS day is the 26th. So I guess we'll be one of the early guinea pigs.
Yeah, I hear you. My brother leaves for Disney on Saturday and 9/23 is supposed to be his HS day. I had coached him on how to grab a boarding pass at 7 AM when we were there in April. He was all set to snag one this time around. He's going to be bummed out when he reads my text.

I wonder if this means that is when genie+ will start 🤔
Betting it will start that day or shortly before.
Not sure this is a good thing, but now it makes that 30 minutes early for onsite guests worth a lot more.
As others noted, the real question is how much will LL cost for that ride. I see big bucks around Christmas and any holiday.

I don’t think IAS will go in seconds. I believe only onsite guests can book IAS at 7 am. Offsite has to wait until they enter. Plus many will not buy and try to do RD. I bet a decent portion of people will wait until they get into the park at RD and hope they get ahead of the pack before purchasing ahead.

I just want a return time before noon. Time will tell how fast they go out. If they go out fast then I’ll have to rope drop and hope for a short line. 🤞🏻

Disney even went out of their way to tout how VQ would remain free during their Genie+ pep talk last month. Very disingenuous.

The ride performs poorly (# of guests per hour) considering the cost of it. Why not see if they can make (an additional) $20 a person, instead of merely the cost of admission. :rolleyes2

To be fair, standby is free too.

I wonder how many of the IAS they’re gonna have, and how fast they run out each morning. .. if I get up at 7 just like with the VQ am I gonna have to be lucky to get a morning one? I think I might rather wait in the three hour line. 🤷🏻‍♀️
Hahahaha! Three hour line? It's going to be MUCH longer than that. I'm thinking 8 hours. And I'm not exaggerating.

We go the week of Thanksgiving. I expect at least $30 per person that week
Ouch if you are right. Probably not wrong though as they will have surge pricing with the LL+ (or whatever they call it). Just look at hotel prices around Thanksgiving/Christmas - insane.

Our HS days are Sept. 24th and 27th. I'll totally pay for that ride (once) to avoid a huge line and rope drop slinky dog or something.

LOL Disney really is flying by the seat of their pants with all these announcements.

Their own Genie+ video which got downvoted to hell made a point that the Virtual Queue would still be an option for a ride like Rise.

You can tell they are doing this as they please with no forethought.

You wouldn't have built a brand new ride like Remy and installed FP+ signs/markers only to have to change them before the ride really opens up for the GP.

Will be interesting to see how this affects wait times at Studios.

With a VQ people could be waiting in other lines for other attractions. Now with Rise going standby those people who were riding Star Tours/Muppets/Tower/et al while waiting to be called will now be standing in line opening up space for other attractions in the park.

Disney was really pushing that you'd have two ways to ride ROTR: VQ or LL. Now they're going back on what they said. I know VQ was not popular, but seriously - waiting in an 8 hour standby? (Because yes, I think it could get that long. Does everyone forget the 5-6 hour standby lines for FoP?)

I feel sorry for the "guinea pigs" who first have to test this all out, but I'm hoping there will be a better grasp on what's going on before my January trip.

As good as RotR is, they need to build more people eating attractions so that lines do not get to be 8 hours. I can see that happening or at a minimum 3-4 hours then cut the line.
