Rip, Ride, Rockit!

The Dark Marauder's Full Rockit Review
Warning: Contains Spoilers

If you want to skip the spoilers, then just read this: It's a lot of fun, the music makes the ride, the vertical lift is awesome, it's not as intense as the Hulk.

*********Spoilers Begin Now!**********

The ride opened for technical rehearsal today around 1235pm. I would arrive by 3pm. Single Riders was intermittent, and the regular line was posted at 2hrs. There were lockers available, but I did not check them out; all my stuff was secure in my cargo shorts. When you enter, they give you a ticket. DO NOT LOSE THIS TICKET! You need this ticket to ride, plus it helps to determine if line jumping has occurred.

The queue is pretty awesome. The outdoor queue has a video wall, which tells part of the "story", shows how to pick your music, and clips of the different songs. While waiting in the extended queue, you can see the coaster whiz overhead in the "Crowd Surfer" maneuver. That's a cool effect. The inner queue is separated into two parts. The first part is just like the exterior: showing the same clips and explaining how you are in charge of making your own music video. The inner part is more about safety. It shows what to do and what to not do. It's no Doofus & Do-Right, nor Spider-Man (both have the funniest safety vids, imo), but it gets the point across. There is also one line said that is a very dirty joke; children will miss it, though. And apparently there's a height MAX of 6'6"

After 90 mins  and two short bouts of technical difficulties, I made it to the load station. The moving platform was not working. I got into row 2, pulled my lapbar down, and made my music selection. There are THREE ways to pick music, not two.
1)Choose Your Genre, then song
2)The computer will pick a song for you
3)Access the "hidden menu" and punch in a 2-4 digit code, then hit enter. You may or may not get a hidden track :darth:

You don't have much time between sitting down and choosing your song before the ride moves. And it moves into the vertical lift quickly! IMO, the vertical lift is the most intense part of the ride. My song--a Crystal Method song--seemed to sync wonderfully with the ride. All the ride maneuvers were smooth and fun. It was short (all coasters are), yet enjoyable.

Final Thoughts:
Lots of fun, I want to ride this again with other tracks. Supposedly the BTTF theme is a hidden track! :3dglasses It's very smooth, it's not as intense as the Hulk or DD, but it's a lot of fun. It's a Must Do.

Thanks! What type of lap bar is it? Is there a seat belt too? or just electronic? over the shoulder harness?
I like to feel really secure and with talk before about safety harnesses releasing unexpectedly, I'm a little nervous.:guilty:

It's a very large lapbar, and the talk of harnesses releasing was nothing but ridiculous rumor. Thousands of LIVE PEOPLE have ridden and have had no problems. :cool2:

That big, tannish thing is the lapbar. All pics were found on IOACentral.

Thanks! I admit I'm a little neurotic....:guilty::sad2:

What about the single riders line?
Single riders = :headache: It's available, but is on-and-off. Don't be surprised if the singles line is closed/full when you get there. It does open up, then gets swamped, and closes again.

Yes, but is there a line for express that they are not yet using?
The express line does physically exist, but is chained off. The sign for where Express would enter has no indication for Express (this is deliberate). Until then, there are large signs that say "Ride is in Technical Rehearsal, it may be interrupted at any time. No Express is honored during Tech Rehearsal"

i scanned thru this article and think someone mentioned the third row had the larger seat. a person sitting in the front row was moved to a different row due to the larger seat set up.

in the comment section, Ricky and Steve make a comment on being moved the the right seat, third row.
that is where the larger seat is mentioned.

What part of the ride are the pictures taken at? I love how the people in the front of that pic are scared to death - but the people in the back are chill. :goodvibes

Not sure if this was asked before but does anyone know if the front row line is a separate line like the Hulk where FOTL will not be able to ride?

It's in the firehouse

and I was in the front row and my picture kinda looks like that. Big smile on my face and you can see the rush hit me :D

No it's not like the hulk, both regular and express reach the platform at the same place and from there you can choose the front line.

The hulk was built before express pass came along and hence way express people enter through the emergency exit and can't reach the front row

I've been trying to post from phonw w no luck so hopefully this one works. Been i n line 4 an hour, one 5 or 10 min shutdown but almost 2 stairs now.

AWESOME!!! Let us know what you think since you're a coaster freak! I will take your opinion a little more seriously than some of the one's I've seen posted.

Off and waiting for ride num. 2. Took a little more than 90 mins w 2 shutdowns. Did front row. Not much longer wait. Tried secret song selection but not quick enough wnumber. Lift cool drop okay. There are some air time parts but minor not way out of seat. Lapbars not as restrictive as they look. Fun but in a disney coaster way I.e. not big thrills just mild ones. Loop and lift rbest. Lights are cool. Soundtrack synched nicely. Ain't gonna make top 10 in thrills...ranks w mummy 4 me in fave rides. Sheikra and manta still thrill leaders. More coherent review and photo gong on examiner when I get home. Phone typing is a pain but at least kills queue time.
