I didn't see a post about this. Here is a beautiful video of him playing and singing for those interested:

From cbs8.com:
Gary Moore, the former guitarist for the Irish rock band Thin Lizzy, has died, according to his official website. He was 58.

"It is with deep sorrow and regret, that we have to announce that Gary Moore passed away while on holiday in Spain last night," a statement posted on his website read Sunday afternoon. "Our thoughts are with his children, family and friends at this sad time."

Moore played with Thin Lizzy for three different periods from 1973 to 1983, when the band disbanded following lead singer Phil Lynott's departure. Lynott died in 1986 after falling into a heroin-induced coma. Thin Lizzy's hits included "Whiskey in the Jar" and "The Boys Are Back in Town" -- which remain staples on classic rock stations.

Besides his work with Thin Lizzy, Moore had several Top 40 hits in the '70s and '80s, most notably "Parisienne Walkways" and "Out of the Fields."

Thin Lizzy founding member Brian Downey called Moore a "great player and great guy" in a statement to the newspaper. "I am in total shock," he said. "He will always be in my thoughts and prayers and I just can't believe he is gone."

Moore released his most recent album, Bad for You Baby, in 2008.

My dh is a huge Thin Lizzy fan. He said he heard last night. Sad.
