So sad, only 57 years old. My sister just smiled and said "Now Daddy has someone to talk baseball with!"

Truly a sad day for all of baseball. Another hero of our youth slips his earthly ties and joins those who have gone before.

Even though we've been expecting it, it's still sad to have him gone at such an early age. He will be missed.

Aw, I didn't even realize he was sick. I remember seeing him play for the Indians when I was a kid.

I just saw this on my homepage (local paper). I closely followed the Giants when Bobby was on the team and later on we followed Barry's minor league career because he had gone to our local boys Catholic high school.
