Ringing in 2010, 6 months til we'll be back again

I would love a snow day! In the 16 years that my kids have been in school we have had exactly 1 snow day and that day the whole city shut down it was that bad. We can get 1 or 2 feet of snow in a day and it is seriously just treated as another day - stinks.:confused3

It is currently -32 C or -26 F :scared1:

Everyone keep warm with fuzzy Disney memories.:cloud9:

Anxiously awaiting the snow day update!!! popcorn:: (afterall MeMom haven't you been up about 6 hours now? ;) )

Our 8lb chihuahua is also scared of my 15 month old son too!! :rotfl: The dog just runs away from Caleb!:lmao:

I like Taylor Swift...she is a very talented girl..and i think she is very grounded.

Here's hoping for no work for me tomorrow...i think we are only getting about 3-4 inches but it is supposed to be windy...so here's hoping for no visibility and I don;t have to go in!

I hope everyone's puppies and kitties and whatever else you have were safe and warm inside last night. It was 15 degrees at the Nashville Airport when I saw the Weather Channel a few minutes ago.

Did you get to have the day at home?

I'm here! I just finished your last TR and I am ready for another one. I just love those pictures of WL. It brings me back to when we visited it in early December this last year. I am so excited to stay there in May. We have a very thin layer of snow in Knoxville with ice underneath. My office manager has already canceled my morning patients until 10 or so and is warning the others that she may be calling them in the morning. Yeah!! I get to stay home with my boys for awhile. I hope everyone stays warm! Keep the updates coming.

So glad to have another Tennessee girl along! That's kind of what we got - a little snow on top of solid ice.

Our superintendent decided at 3:20 today that classes were canceled tomorrow. I do like someone who is proactive like that!

It's nice to know the night before so you don't even have to set the alarm.
I think I smelled the wonderful aroma of bacon coming from your way this morning. :)

Ok now I am thinking WL would be a good place to stay. Hmm will think about this.

We are supposed to get 1-2 inches in the morning. We will see.

If you like rustic, you'll love it. I get such a welcoming feeling when I walk in the lobby.

Unfortunately, yes. Or if the roads are really slippery and icy. Then they'll cancel school. We had 22 inches a few weeks ago(We don't usually have that much! That was crazy!) and that was enough for a snow day

Like I have said before, I wouldn't be able to function any further north than where I am.

Hi MeMom and Jill!:yay:

After a couple of months away I am finally caught up on all the TR's! Sorry I missed so much! But life got away from me...but now I am back and all caught up! I'm glad to hear you all had a happy Christmas and New Years! Also glad you had a good couple of trips and are home safe and sound! I can't wait to hear more about this last trip! I hope you New Year is going well!

Well, it is nice to have you back. I always wonder about people when they disappear. I figure they just got tired of seeing and hearing the same old stuff from us.

I hope this year is a good one for all of us! I know it will be short on Disney trips for me, though. :sad1:

Add us to the list of people who got snow days today. School was called off without a flake in the air. By the end of the day we ended up with 5 inches, but it looks like the kids are going tomorrow - at least in this system.

How fun for you guys who got two days off! I loved the double days when I was teaching! Stay safe everyone and I hope everything clears up well for the GTG at the Rainforest/Disney Store on Saturday!

5 inches is enough for a decent snowman, isn't it? Did the boys make one?

Jill says she is coming to go to the Disney Store no matter what. Brooklynn has birthday parties to go to the next two weekends, I believe she said, so it's now or never.

All caught up now. It was fun to read the live reports and also to read people's reactions to the NYE meet. Trent's dancing was hilarious - and I don't know if the camera picked it up, but Jarvis stopped at one point and asked Trent why he even knew "Bye, bye, bye"...which made us all laugh even harder!

Love the box you sent Dawn!

Wow, lots of crazy weather happening around the country, isn't there?! We got a bit of snow last night, but nothing major. Our road outside is a pure sheet of ice-which doesn't surprise me much considering the storm that was happening when we left for our trip. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 20's finally, but unfortunately that still isn't warm enough to melt it a bit!

Stay safe in that weather, I know it's a whole different world for you guys when it snows like that!!

And unfortunately you probably hear my raspy voice. My voice came back on January 2nd, and the cough is almost gone. Thankfully! It was just one of those coughs that hang on forever after a cold. Blah.

I really enjoyed meeting you guys. I agree that we didn't have enough time to really talk, there was so much going on at once. It was fun though! My cheeks hurt from laughing and smiling at those nutty boys. And what time we did have to talk, I truly enjoyed. I felt like you and Jill were old friends!

I wish Joe had arrived on time, it really bummed me out and made my New Year's a tad bittersweet. And poor Brooklynn who asked about Henry.

I guess that just means we need to line up another meet now, don't we?! Perhaps one during the day would be better for the little one.

Maybe Thanksgiving...hmmm...Is it generally warm around Thanksgiving in Orlando? Swimming weather? We are tossing around dates here...we want it to NOT be a peak sickness/cold time in MN so we can hopefully avoid getting sick (Joe was battling a cold the entire trip-and still is), and we want swimming weather while we are there. We want to leave the COLD behind!!!!!

I'm sure we will cross paths again. You are right about feeling like we knew each other. When I met you outside Kona, it was like, 'Hey, here's the stuff. See you on the beach!' as if I had talked to you a hundred times.

We are definitely considering Thanksgiving this year. We really liked it last year. I have to see what kind of break they are going to be giving us, but I am going to try to get the whole week.

You deserved it!! And always so fun to get on even a 'needed' day!!

:sad2: I'm so sorry I won't be able to come....we have a game at 11a Sat!! Boooo!! I was thinking though I will be in rivergate at babiesRus registering Sunday, and if I drive separate I might come see you to.....see below

Yes......

I can't wait to have a little one to play with those

Also meant to tell you I bought the princess set for Katelyn when we went in Dec....and seeing her play with them just melts my heart :cloud9:

That would be FUN!! I will get off around 1ish if I could come meet you somewhere too!!

I LOVE the view from this angle seeing the whole lobby. Such a cool place!

Glad you got a snow day today....I enjoyed watching the small snow showers we had through out the day. Here's hoping it's not going to be hard to get to work tomorrow morning

I think Jill is just coming for the day, but maybe we can work out meeting when Dawn comes.

I hope you got to work with no difficulties this morning. I am very happy to be at home!

When I can afford it sometime in my old age, I have a feeling I will stay at Wilderness Lodge more often. Hopefully, anyway.

Do you have special kinds of pipes, or what do you guys do to keep everything from freezing?

One snow day? I guess I should consider myself very fortunate, then!

Anxiously awaiting the snow day update!!! popcorn:: (afterall MeMom haven't you been up about 6 hours now? ;) )

I got up at 3:22, because my mind/body can't understand that it's a snow day and I have nowhere to go!

As soon as Jill gets those pictures going, we'll get started. She tried to yesterday when she got home, but the computer was coming as going with the weather, I guess. She is going to try again early today.

I am enjoying Snow Day #2. I made another Mickey waffle early this morning and folded some laundry. Other than that, I have done pretty much done nothing but Dis, balance my checkbook, and read.

Okay let's get this trip report rolling, we only have 173 days until we leave again! (And knowing us we'll finish this one hours before we board the plane for the next one)

Now for those of you just joining us, some introductions. For those of you who have been with us just bear with me for a moment.

First, the stars of the report!

Brooklynn and Bellarie

IMG_6432.jpg

Brooklynn, my sassy 3 year old. She is absolutely hilarious and says some of the craziest stuff. She loves her baby sister to death. She also loves to talk. And talk and talk and talk and talk. This past summer she hit the 40 inch mark and has since become a ride daredevil.

Bellarie, my sweet and tiny peanut. Also known as Dash Incredible. She turned 9 months 2 days after we returned home and is just getting into 3-6 month clothing. She may be tiny, but she is all about food and eating. Don't hold her and try to eat a slice of pizza because she will snatch it out of your hand.

Me, Jill. I am mommy to the stars of the report. I also am the assistant director at the girls' school so I get to see them all day. I love to watch my girls experience Disney.

disney09240.jpg

MeMom, my mom. Also known as the elusive Hidden MeMom. You'll have to look close but you might catch her reflection in a mirror as she takes a picture. My cohort in Disney crime. We enable each other. She loves to walk around just taking random pictures. She gets lots of strange looks from the regular tourists when she is on the ground at Hollywood Studios or putting a Santa hat on a plywood Coke delivery guy!

Now for the guys:

John, my DH. He really does enjoy going to Disney, he just has a different touring style. He doesn't do well in the heat or crowds or when he is hungry. We try to keep him well fed and out of the crowds and give him plenty of down time in the room.

snow011.jpg

Trent. My brother, 25. Also known as Uncle Bubby. He enjoys Disney and loves his nieces. He is the life of the party most of the time. I think the New Year's Eve video proves that.

disneypics020.jpg

Jarvis - Trent's friend. Also adopted member of the family. He came with Trent on our Thanksgiving trip last year and got hooked. He now is the proud owner of a Premium Annual Pass.

IMG_0577.jpg

Drew - my youngest brother, 21. Also known as Uncle D. He is going to school for photography and takes some seriously awesome pictures.

IMG_0333.jpg

So that's the crew. Now onto the report.

Yeah, I'm here to read! :goodvibes

I am going to post it in my TR, but until I get to that day, here are some picstures I took of my sister Alice and Brooklyn at NYE. Your girls are seriously the cutest!!

Have a good snow day!!
Katie

I made it for the beginning of the report! I have been away a while and figured that I would be behind. I can't wait to hear all about it. I am glad you had a safe trip.

Woohoo, you're getting started!! I love the pictures you chose. The picture of Brooklynn on Test Track is hilarious. :rotfl:

/
Yeah! The party has begun! :dance3:

I would love to see some of Drew's pictures. You guys should ask him if he would let you post some of them. I also love photography and have taken a few classes but don't have the time for it that I would like (or the money for the equipment:rolleyes1). I can't wait to hear all about your adventures. You guys have a great family. That is such a blessing!:cloud9:

Can't wait to read the next post!! It will bring me back to our trip in December. Knoxville still only has around 1/2 inch with ice but it was enough to almost close down the city. Too funny compared to the north. Lucky me, we decided to close the office today. Yeah!!

I have all his pictures on my laptop so I will definitely post some. He takes some awesome ones.

Your girls just get cuter and cuter -- if that's possible! :goodvibes

Love all the intro pics -- John and Charles are so similar -- hating the heat and crowds and getting cranky when they need food. Love the pic of him with the girls -- was that taken in the last couple of days with the snow?

Woo hoo for Jarvis getting a Premium Annual Pass -- he'll have to make sure he gets a lot of use out of that!

I didn't realize that you were the assistant director, Jill! That is awesome!

So excited that the TR has officially started. I am already bored with our snow day and ready for some DIS fun!

Great intro Jill the pictures capture everyone perfect ! I totally agree with you Brooklyn and Bella are def the stars of the show :)Can't wait to read all about your trip !popcorn::popcorn::

Also known as Uncle Bubby.

That's close to what my dad used to be called when my cousins were little. Uncle Bubba. His real name is John but my oldest cousin couldn't pronounce his J's when he was really little and it came out as Uncle Gon, so my dad just said to call him Uncle Bubba :rotfl:

Like I have said before, I wouldn't be able to function any further north than where I am.

I'm the exact opposite. I couldn't survive any further south :lmao: If it hits 90 degrees I'm miserable. I get grumpy and I get really bad headaches :sad2: That's why we're trying to avoid a summer Disney trip. In February it's usually around 70 in Disney so that's good :thumbsup2

I was just about to say that it hasn't started snowing yet today, but I just looked out the window and saw some flakes :goodvibes It's only supposed to be 1 or 2 inches, but I love any amount of snow :yay:

so happy for you that the weather worked out in your favor! We got 4" of snow last night and its still snowing now but the busses weren't cancelle.:confused3 It took me an hour to shovel our driveway and sidewalk. I did the neighbour's as well though cause it was beautiful out and its good exercise!

Your WL pictures are beautiful. The themed decorations are so cool!

Brooklynn and Bella are adorable. Bella's smile is just the definition of "joy":cutie:

Hope the weather warms up for you soon. When you are not used to it, it just plain sucks. Also, since we leave in just over a week I am hoping for a heat wave!!:thumbsup2

Just a little lurker here coming out to say :wave2:! I have read all of your/memom's reports and love em! This one is off to a fantastic start. I think you are all very lucky to have each other and equally share the love of Disney. My mom and I took my DS every year since he was born ( he is now 10) and sometimes we would go 2 or 3 times a year. I thought we were nuts for doing so until I found your reports :lmao: ! My dh opted to skip most of those trips ( regretfully) for silly reasons... like " I have to work and make the money so you can go on these trips" kind of things ;) but I think it was mainly because he hated flying. We used to live in NY and driving was out of the question. We moved to NC 3 years ago so DH has now joined us on our magical adventures because we can drive there. We did 10 days last year at the Beach Club and I highly recommend you try this one in the future as a Deluxe add on day- wait till the girls are a little bit older and can really make use out of the pool/SAB area- you seriously do not want to leave the property until evening when you can casually walk to Epcot for dining and fireworks!
Sadly, we are not going this year though :scared1::sad2::sad1: because DH said he wants to try something different. Also my mom and DS go to Disney together on their own every year- this year they are going 2/1 - 2/5 ... but they have a different kind of vacation as they are back in the hotel room by 4:00pm everyday and they don't take any pics -crazy :scared1:! Last year I took over 1500- and that was low for me. They stay at All Star Sports because DS is obsessed with football- so he will literally play on the field all afternoon and meet kids. It drives me insane that they do this- but they like to take it easy there. My mom loves taking my DS on her own because she says I stress him in Disney trying to get too much done - no such thing! Anyhow, this year instead we are going to spend 6 historical days in Williamsburg, VA- is there a "yawn" smiley? it should be fun :guilty: and I am in the depths of planning like the crazy planner that I am and will have them wishing they were back at Disney in no time!

So with that I will live vicariously through your reports and dream of a ticker- a Disney ticker that is.

I just wanted to say thank you for writing these reports- they especially keep us Disers without tickers smiling :) ! Your girls are gorgeous and how lucky they are to have each other to share all the wonderful Disney memories with!

Oh and forgot to add that my ds calls my MIL ( which I could share some stories about ) Bubby- which means Grandma in Yiddish- My DH's family is Jewish and that is what DH called his grandma too! I cracked up when I first read about Bella calling your brother that- I thought" he doesn't look like a Bubby" in the yiddish sense of the word ! :-)

Love the pictures of the girls - they are adorable. Hope I get to meet them and you and Memom tomorrow at the Hippo if all goes well.

Wow! You better just take it easy for a while!
I HOPE YOUR RECOVERY GOES WONDERFULLY!
A Disney trip at the end of the wait should make for a nice reward. ::yes::

Thanks MeMom! :flower3: We just rescheduled our trip for April 29-May 4th staying at Pop Century!:cool1: My son wants to stay at the hotel with the giant yo-yos! You have inspired me to wake up early one morning to explore the grounds while it is still quiet. Can't wait!:thumbsup2

Great intros Jill! The girls are adorable as always. princess:You must have gotten Jarvis hooked if he has gotten a Premium Annual Pass! :thumbsup2

I remember thinking how similar John and Charles were as I was reading your reports.

Jarvis and Trent both have the premium annual pass. They go and so the water parks in the summer. John, Mom, Brooklynn, and I just have regular annual passes since Brooklynn isn't really big enough to fully enjoy the water parks.

Hope to see you tomorrow!

Great intros Jill! The girls are adorable as always. princess:You must have gotten Jarvis hooked if he has gotten a Premium Annual Pass! :thumbsup2

Jarvis definitely drank the Disney Kool Aid last November. Trent said when they were driving home from the Thanksgiving trip Jarvis asked when we were going back again!
