What’s the best non-Disney part of your Disney visit? No, the airport doesn’t count.

We often combine our yearly few nights at WDW getaway with a few nights in Ft. Myers, so I guess I'll say going to the Ft. Myers area.

As a kid, we did this a few time and it was great! One year we did Sanibel Island but then Ft. Myers Beach 2 times after that.

When we go to WDW, we stay on property and only do Disney stuff.

For Disneyland, we also typically just do the parks and DTD. But occasionally we will stop by Old Town Orange to walk around and visit our wedding chapel. We used to live down there so it's always fun to reminisce.

Also, for Disneyland, we like to drive instead of fly for summer vacations so the road trip part is something we really enjoy (1500 miles, each way.)

I hit the road when I went to Disney this year. Definitely an advantage on the ground... you get to visit other places in addition to Disney! I might end up flying next year...

Definitely Universal. Lately I spend a bit more time at Universal than Disney on most of my Orlando trips.
I feel like a nobody when I’m at Universal TBH. Somehow when I’m at WDW it’s a whole different experience. Much better characters at Disney than at Universal…

Just got back from a Universal trip and know I am definitely a Disney Girl.
It was fun to look at but I really didn't do much. Loved Isle of Berk though.

Even though we drive to Disney, we never leave the bubble during our stay. So I guess my favorite non-Disney thing is mentally checking off the landmarks along the 1,000+ mile drive to Disney and tracking all of the various state vehicle license plates we see along the way. I really do enjoy the drive to Disney (I'm always the passenger -- I'm not an aggressive enough driver for DH on a long trip like that. I'm content staying in the right lane most of the time as along as it's moving at the speed limit. He's not happy unless he's the lead car of the "traffic clump". :D)

Cool! When I was on my way to Disney… I actually fiddled around with a small FM radio that I took from my house and scanned around to see which stations I would get along the way. I’ve gotten such stations like G105 in Raleigh, 97.3 KISS FM in Savannah, and 95SX out of Charleston among others. When I start hearing XL106.7 out of Orlando… I know I’m getting close to HOME.
