Ringing in 2010, 6 months til we'll be back again

It is now snowing at our house. It is not sticking yet but so much fun to look at. I worry more about the roads being icy. So to all my Disboard friends, please be careful and try to stay warm.

Do you go over to the beach very often? When I lived in St. Pete, I loved going to the beach. Every time I go to Florida and see the first palm tree, it brings back so many good memories of going to the beach.

We do ride over to beach sometimes, but we don't go swimming very much. It's just nice knowing that we can go anytime. We actually have 2 palm trees in our yard, of course it's not like being in Fl and seeing all the palms. I love to stop at the Fl welcome center and get some OJ!:) Our weather here has been very cold this week. They say we might even see a flurry or two late tonight. I wish we would get some snow. We rarely get snow and when we do everything shuts down since we are not prepared for snow at all.:)

Stay warm and safe everyone!

Warm, quiet place to sit and read.
Or maybe catch a nap.

DisDec2009FtWild014.jpg

I wish I could sit there right now!

No snow in Rhode Island today, but we're supposed to get some tomorrow. Unfortunately it won't be enough to cancel school. We need over a foot for that

So our Disney plans have changed due to my mom's work schedule. Long story short, a really important meeting that she absolutely has to go to got moved from Feb to April. But we don't know when in April. So we have two options. 1: Make reservations for my April vacation, and risk having to move it to later(probably to summer, which would be way too hot for people from New England :lmao:) Option 2: Make reservations for my Feb vaction  I'm hoping for that one ;) We're a little concerned about not being able to get plane tickets this late, so we'll see what happens when we go to AAA on Saturday. But there's a possibility that I could be walking down Main Street in 6 weeks :woohoo:

I'm here now. 21 pages behind, but here! I will try to get caught up today/tomorrow.

I just finished your other TR, I know I had some comments...but now they are old news, aren't they? :goodvibes I'll sum it up in this, "lovely report as always!". ::yes::

It's fun to see your pictures now and "hear" your voices in my head.

That sounds a little strange, like men in white coats should come get me...but you know what I mean.

I hope. ;)

I haven't thanked you yet for the prints you sent for Jill and me. Thanks so much! And Trent loved his goodie bag, too. You were too kind!

You're welcome - I got the prints for a crazy low price at the Character Outlet a while back and couldn't resist buying several.....I knew I would find someone else who would appreciate them as much as I did and you and Jill were a natural choice :goodvibes

As far as the gooddie bag, well we in the Gator Nation just like to show off when we can :thumbsup2 and even though they aren't playing tonight we're still proud of them!! :cheer2::cheer2: And besides, it isn't every day we get to meet a famous DIS celebrity :worship: who someone :rolleyes1 hasn't stopped talking about all week!

Glad you got a snow day. We did not. Kept thinking they would send us home early but that didn't happen either...but we do have a 2 hour delay for tomorrow! :cool1: I think we have around 7 inches so far. It has snowed all day and it supposed to keep snowing most of the night! yuck!!!

Love the pictures of WL. It looks so cozy. The more pictures you post the more I want to stay there.

NO SCHOOL TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!

:cool1::cool1:

I had to call John around 2:00 this afternoon and tell him to come on home because they were shutting down parts of our road due to ice. I am very excited about not having to set the alarm in the morning. I also hope to get at least the first day of pictures up so we can get this report underway!

weather report from northeast georgia: NOTHING IS HAPPENING!!!

:rotfl2:

it started snowing pretty heavy around 3:30. i left court at 4:30 and by that time it had pretty much stopped except for the occasional flurry. a few minutes after i got home (around 5:15) it started snowing again really heavy....for about 15 minutes. :rotfl: now it's just cold. no snow. no ice. nada.

it is, however, supposed to get down into the teens tonight, which is very unusual for our neck of the woods. brrrrrrrr!!!!!! i live in the south for a reason, dang it! :upsidedow because of the cold temps tonight, tomorrow morning might be kinda bad on the roads since they are slightly wet right now. thankfully i don't have to go anywhere until tomorrow afternoon, but ray has to go to work in the morning.

so what happened in nashville? erica said it wasn't much of anything.

The boys have seen her?! I'm jealous! :upsidedow :rotfl:

Yeah, but around here, that's not really a big thing. Nashville is full of country music 'stars', so you quickly figure out they're just plain old people.

Update..... Our school has decided to dismiss at 10:00.:confused3 They just started at 8:05. That is crazry to make the kids get out on those icy roads twice. I don't think or new Superintendent of Schools here understands country roads apparently. It is also going to get bitterly cold, down to 8 degrees and stay that way through the weekend. We aren't use to that at all . Everyone is going to have to run water in their houses to keep it from busting their pipes. We have a German Shepherd that is an outside dog. She has a dog bed on our garage, but I will be bring her inside and she hates it inside.Ty scares her.lol He weighs 22 pounds and she is at least 120 pounds and she is scared of him.I'll have to block her off away from Ty.That will be hard because he climbs everything. Plus she smells really bad.:rolleyes1
Luke.jpg

P.S.I read what you posted about Taylor Swift.... I really like her. I hope she stays grounded like she has so far. I'm not much of a music person but she has a few songs I like when the girls have the TV on CMT.

I covered my outside faucets. I'm stressed about the pipes bursting with this many days in a row of cold temperatures.

I hope your 120 pound baby comes in and stays warm. Maybe a good hot bath will make her smell pretty. :)

It's always heartwarming to me to hear of young people involved in improving things for others. One of Drew's old school friends is the son of Rhett Akins. He's a country singer, too. He and I messaged back and forth a couple of weeks ago just catching up, and I was so impressed with the young man he has become. It makes me so happy for his parents, because I know they have to be incredibly proud of him.

Hooray, Hooray for a snow day!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1: Looks like we might be getting some of that fluffy white stuff after all!!!!!:woohoo::yay:

WL looks fantastic. And it did make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!;)

Here's hoping you can squeeze as many snow days out of this thing as possible!:wizard::wizard::wizard:

We're getting two out of this, and even if that is all we get for the whole winter, that's better than what we get a lot of times.

Glad you liked the Lodge pictures.

It is very rare for us.

As luck would have it, it is snowing in the county next to us, but as it crosses the county line, it is changing to rain. Always. This always happens.

You got out early, right? I guess us southerners just have to know that snow days are going to be a rare thing for us. It is bitterly cold out there, though. If the roads freeze tonight, you may get an ice day.

What beautiful photos!! I would so love to stay at WL someday!!! YAY for a Snowday hope you are enjoying your day off!!!!!!!!

Bummer about the Disney store closing I really wish we had one closer to me although the fact its hours away is probably a very good thing for my budget!

If you do, you might like the area where our rooms were. Just steps from the Villas pool and the beach. :)

If we lose our other store, at least we still have Disney Shopping on-line.

Knock on wood, nothing yet so far!!!

And you are far from bragging. He seems like a great kid. :goodvibes

Thanks. :)

Welcome home! Can't believe I am already 7 pages behind! Although I do have a good excuse. I had surgery to implant 4 neurostimulator leads and the transmitter/battery implanted. Ouch! In the long run, it will be awesome, but right now, it pretty well stinks! Anyway, my sad :sad1: news is that we are postponing our trip to Disney. We were supposed to leave 2 weeks from today, but I am not going to be able to travel for about another 11 weeks or so. So, we are now looking at the last weekend in April! Yeah! :cool1:

back to your TR! :)

Wow! You better just take it easy for a while!
I HOPE YOUR RECOVERY GOES WONDERFULLY!
A Disney trip at the end of the wait should make for a nice reward. ::yes::

I've been doing alot of that myself the past few days! I was just checking out the new 2010 parks merchandise. I like the 2010 Mickey and Minnie!

Lots of sun in my neck of the woods today but it's really cold. BRRRRR I've got to go up to my Mom's house and then drop some movies off. I don't want to go outside but I'm going to have to. Snow isn't expected here until sometime tonight, if at all. If it does snow I'm sure I'll be getting a call at the crack of dawn advising school will be closed.

The WL looks so nice all decorated for Christmas!

.
Scoot over and share that fireplace! Here's some warm stuff to go with the fire and the book! :coffee:

2010 stuff was everywhere, for sure. I looked for 2009 stuff - in particular a 2009 stuffed Mikey that I was going to send Happy Elf for Owen, because I read that she regretted not getting one. Unfortunately, I never came across one. We were there the last several days of 2009, but the merchandise was gone.

Hope you stay safe and warm at your house.

Our 8lb chihuahua is also scared of my 15 month old son too!! :rotfl: The dog just runs away from Caleb!:lmao:

I like Taylor Swift...she is a very talented girl..and i think she is very grounded.

Here's hoping for no work for me tomorrow...i think we are only getting about 3-4 inches but it is supposed to be windy...so here's hoping for no visibility and I don;t have to go in! ;)

Yes, everyone just stay in whenever that is an option. :)

A walk on the beach would be nice tonight. Even if it is cold, it's probably not bitterly cold.

We got to stop at the Welcome Center for juice this time, too. The last several times, we have flown, but there were no good flight prices this time. I suspect we'll be flying again in the summer, because the prices are looking pretty good.

I wish I could sit there right now!

No snow in Rhode Island today, but we're supposed to get some tomorrow. Unfortunately it won't be enough to cancel school. We need over a foot for that

A foot of snow to get out?!?!?!?

Even with all of the changing, you will get there eventually, and it will be awesome!

You hear those cuuuuntry voices in your head now, right? ;)

It was great meeting you. Maybe we'll get to see Henry awake next time we cross paths. He just wasn't one bit interested in the fact that the year was changing, was he?

We didn't really get to talk as much as I would have liked. The entertainment got crazy and then I started walking Bella and you were trying your best to get Joe and Henry there before things started up. Before we knew it, it was over.

You're welcome - I got the prints for a crazy low price at the Character Outlet a while back and couldn't resist buying several.....I knew I would find someone else who would appreciate them as much as I did and you and Jill were a natural choice :goodvibes

Well, thank you for thinking of us.

The guys had a great time. Trent loved seeing UF, and he seemed quite happy with the tour guide. :)

Love the pictures of WL. It looks so cozy. The more pictures you post the more I want to stay there.

Sounds like we need to start planning a big Wilderness Lodge Dis meet one of these days!

Stay warm up there!

NO SCHOOL TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!

I am very excited about not having to set the alarm in the morning. I also hope to get at least the first day of pictures up so we can get this report underway!

I am glad you will get to sleep in a little...if Bella allows it.

weather report from northeast georgia: NOTHING IS HAPPENING!!!

:rotfl2:

it started snowing pretty heavy around 3:30. i left court at 4:30 and by that time it had pretty much stopped except for the occasional flurry. a few minutes after i got home (around 5:15) it started snowing again really heavy....for about 15 minutes. :rotfl: now it's just cold. no snow. no ice. nada.

so what happened in nashville? erica said it wasn't much of anything.

Not much in the way of accumulation, but enough to make the roads treacherous - for us anyway. I watched cars slide on my road. It was snowing again when I went out to cover the outside faucets. Your grandparents may have gotten a little more, since they're a little further north.

It's enough to keep us home again tomorrow. I just want the temperatures to get a little higher than they are predicting.

I'm here! I just finished your last TR and I am ready for another one. I just love those pictures of WL. It brings me back to when we visited it in early December this last year. I am so excited to stay there in May. We have a very thin layer of snow in Knoxville with ice underneath. My office manager has already canceled my morning patients until 10 or so and is warning the others that she may be calling them in the morning. Yeah!! I get to stay home with my boys for awhile. I hope everyone stays warm! Keep the updates coming.

You got out early, right? I guess us southerners just have to know that snow days are going to be a rare thing for us. It is bitterly cold out there, though. If the roads freeze tonight, you may get an ice day.

Our superintendent decided at 3:20 today that classes were canceled tomorrow. I do like someone who is proactive like that! :lmao:

Ok now I am thinking WL would be a good place to stay. Hmm will think about this.

We are supposed to get 1-2 inches in the morning. We will see.

A foot of snow to get out?!?!?!?

Unfortunately, yes. Or if the roads are really slippery and icy. Then they'll cancel school. We had 22 inches a few weeks ago(We don't usually have that much! That was crazy!) and that was enough for a snow day

Hi MeMom and Jill!:yay:

After a couple of months away I am finally caught up on all the TR's!:yay: Sorry I missed so much! But life got away from me...but now I am back and all caught up! I'm glad to hear you all had a happy Christmas and New Years! Also glad you had a good couple of trips and are home safe and sound! I can't wait to hear more about this last trip! I hope you New Year is going well! :)

Add us to the list of people who got snow days today. School was called off without a flake in the air. By the end of the day we ended up with 5 inches, but it looks like the kids are going tomorrow - at least in this system.

How fun for you guys who got two days off! I loved the double days when I was teaching! Stay safe everyone and I hope everything clears up well for the GTG at the Rainforest/Disney Store on Saturday!

All caught up now. :goodvibes It was fun to read the live reports and also to read people's reactions to the NYE meet. :rotfl: Trent's dancing was hilarious - and I don't know if the camera picked it up, but Jarvis stopped at one point and asked Trent why he even knew "Bye, bye, bye"...which made us all laugh even harder!

Love the box you sent Dawn! How very sweet!!!

Wow, lots of crazy weather happening around the country, isn't there?! We got a bit of snow last night, but nothing major. Our road outside is a pure sheet of ice-which doesn't surprise me much considering the storm that was happening when we left for our trip. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 20's finally, but unfortunately that still isn't warm enough to melt it a bit!

Stay safe in that weather, I know it's a whole different world for you guys when it snows like that!!

And unfortunately you probably hear my raspy voice. :sad2: My voice came back on January 2nd, and the cough is almost gone. Thankfully! It was just one of those coughs that hang on forever after a cold. Blah.

I really enjoyed meeting you guys. You are all such wonderful people! I agree that we didn't have enough time to really talk, there was so much going on at once. It was fun though! My cheeks hurt from laughing and smiling at those nutty boys. :goodvibes And what time we did have to talk, I truly enjoyed. I felt like you and Jill were old friends!

I wish Joe had arrived on time, it really bummed me out and made my New Year's a tad bittersweet. And poor Brooklynn who asked about Henry. :guilty:

I guess that just means we need to line up another meet now, don't we?! Perhaps one during the day would be better for the little one.

Maybe Thanksgiving...hmmm...Is it generally warm around Thanksgiving in Orlando? Swimming weather? We are tossing around dates here...we want it to NOT be a peak sickness/cold time in MN so we can hopefully avoid getting sick (Joe was battling a cold the entire trip-and still is), and we want swimming weather while we are there. We want to leave the COLD behind!!!!!

it was so nice of them to give me a taste of disney since i've had such a long break. i really needed it!

You deserved it!! And always so fun to get on even a 'needed' day!!
memom & jill - sorry if i've hijacked your thread but i had to share with everyone how awesome you guys are. ;)

I, and prob everyone else, am glad you hijacked :thumbsup2.....not like we don't know, but we can all SEE how sweet they are!!

Jill, Brooklynn, Bella, and I are planning to be at Opry Mills this Saturday, if the weather cooperates. Erica, Stasieki, and anyone else who would like to, we'll meet you at the hippo at 11:00. We plan to see what Disney Store has on sale, of course, and say a proper goodbye.

:sad2: I'm so sorry I won't be able to come....we have a game at 11a Sat!! Boooo!! I was thinking though I will be in rivergate at babiesRus registering Sunday, and if I drive separate I might come see you to.....see below

Didn't we surprise you with a little present you haven't had a chance to pick up yet?

Yes......

Feel like putting

Also meant to tell you I bought the princess set for Katelyn when we went in Dec....and seeing her play with them just melts my heart :cloud9:

You ratted us out on the towels! :scared1:

:lmao::rotfl::lmao:

i wanted to mention that i'm planning on calling jordan very soon and seeing if she'll let me have margot for the day that friday (2/19). audrey (my stepmom) seems to think she will be fine with it. just wanted to let you know!

That would be FUN!! I will get off around 1ish if I could come meet you somewhere too!!

The view from upstairs.

DisDec2009FtWild004.jpg

I LOVE the view from this angle seeing the whole lobby. Such a cool place!

Glad you got a snow day today....I enjoyed watching the small snow showers we had through out the day. Here's hoping it's not going to be hard to get to work tomorrow morning
