Ringing in 2010, 6 months til we'll be back again

I don't know if I've ever seen the birds with the little mohawks (for lack of a better word :rotfl:) -- they are super cute!

I loved seeing the pictures bigger; thanks for that! They are amazing.

Too bad we won't have time for resort hopping on this teeny tiny trip, but we'll get back to Wilderness Lodge this summer. What are your June dates?

June 24th-July 1st and possibly adding on three more nights in the beginning so June 21st. When are yours?

I <3 the pics that Drew took....wow!!!

I tossed the idea around of a summer trip but dh says its way too hot... I countered with the pool and nap midday... he counter-offered with "I can wait another year for Disney".

We've just gotten used to the heat, because we pretty much have to go in the summer, if we're doing a long trip. If you change your mind, come on down for a few days during Fourth of July! The water and the naps feel especially good in the summer. :)

What a fabulous Mother's Day present! You have a very thoughtful daughter!

Whoa, I was 12 pages behind! I need to get here more often! I enjoyed seeing your AK pics.

Have a super weekend!

She is very thoughtful. We have had fun talking about the way we're going to maximize this very short time.

My weekend will be uneventful, so I guess that can be a good thing. I went to the grocery store on the way home from school yesterday, today I'll do house chores, and tomorrow will be church and some schoolwork in the evening. Boring, maybe, but that's okay.

::yes::

It was one of the most fun nights for me too! I think it's tied with the night I had my perfect Wishes view(the one I sent you the picture of!)

Yup! I'm only an hour away!!!

How nice to have the perfect Wishes view!

At an hour away, I think you guys will have some fun meets in the future. :goodvibes

Yes Memom hopefully the weather will be wonderful in May. We just got a terrible wind & rain storm yesterday & here in NH there were 229,000 people without power. The wind gusts were 70 MPH!!! We were without power for 12 hours from 10pm last night until almost noon today. Some still do not have theirs back yet & it could be days!! There were huge pine trees down all over the roads here We also had a flooded cellar as our pump could not work without power. We were bailing out all night but gave up around 6 am this morning. Now we are drying it out & everything is good but...I am ready for May!!!

Sorry to hear about the power outage. We have been so lucky here with that. We have only lost power a very few times for very short spurts. I know that a lot of people who have had so much snow this winter are already stressing about the floods that will some with the spring thaw. I guess that's why I said earlier that a boring weekend is just fine with me. May has suddenly become more exciting to us, too. ;)

Here are Drew's pictures resized plus a few more of his from the AK photo excursion.

Thanks, Jilly-bean! Hope your Friday night pizza was delicious!
I wish he had taken close-ups of the kangaroos.

great pictures!

You come out of hiding to say good job to the man's pictures! :yay: We miss you and Ma around here.
I have been thinking of you guys during the Olympics, since Canada has been in the spotlight.

I agree! Drew's pictures are great!

I will tell him you said so.

Those pictures are just fabulous! Oh to have just a bit of that boy's talent.....

He has found something he truly enjoys, so I hope he can make a living with it.

Great pictures!

Thanks, on Drew's behalf.

Grey Crowned Cranes. I love that he got all the kangaroos in the background.

I love the close up- side profile - view of the turtle! :thumbsup2 So cool!

I liked the turtle picture, too. :)

Drew's pictures are wonderful, he has a good eye for capturing the spirit of the park.

I was glad we got to hang out together that morning. It was enjoyable to me to watch him see something he wanted to shoot and then get at just the right angle he wanted. I will love it if he can find a job doing something he enjoys so much.

June 24th-July 1st and possibly adding on three more nights in the beginning so June 21st. When are yours?

We're arriving late on June 30th. Maybe we can do a quick hello and picture for the report on the 1st?

Dang it! Looks like I still miss you guys on this trip, I leave April 30. :( But I know you'll have an amazing time! :)

Drew's photos are even better enlarged! I love the close up on the turtle statue! Fabulous!

Wonderful pictures! Those two with EE and the water in the foreground are fab-o!:goodvibes
Enjoy your uneventful weekend. Those are the best sometimes because they seem to last the longest.:lovestruc

Wow, Drew is one heck of a photographer!! Except for those bird ones, those were horrible ;) :rotfl2:

We will have an amazing time. We'll meet on a future trip, I imagine. I am hoping we can go 3-4 times a year as long as Trent is there, and more if possible, of course.

All of the colorfully painted animals in the park are so cool. I wish he had taken more pictures.

After leaving Animal Kingdom, the plan was to meet everyone else at Grand Floridian. Drew wanted to go on back to Pop, so I went to GF by myself. While I was on the bus, Jill called and said they were already there waiting on me.

Going into 'The Grand'.

Jill and I wanted the guys to see Fort Wilderness with all of the crazy Christmas decorations, so we boarded a boat to do just that.

The time was now:

IMG_2877.jpg

We all got fun stickers. :)

IMG_2880.jpg

GF is so beautiful and bright! I am definitely making my way over there on my trip in January. :thumbsup2

I've never seen those stickers before!

The Grand is even more beautiful when it is decorated for Christmas! :lovestruc I love that the serve cider there!

Cute stickers! I haven't seen those before either.

Beautiful pictures of GF, the GF is one of my favorite places to shop(just look),relax, and people watch when I just want to get away from the crowds.
If I am lucky their is a wedding party having pictures made that is always fun to watch.

*Sigh* I love the GF. :cloud9: I could just sit in the lobby all day, listening to the band and people watching.

I hope to make it there over Christmas sometime! I really want to see that gingerbread house!!

Great update! The GF is just gorgeous! I hope to visit in May.
I couldn't help but think when I saw your pictures of Fullhouse when Jessie played the piano for Rebecca.

I always love your GF pictures. was so excited to finally get to go there myself. I actually found myself thinking several times, "I recognize this from MeMom's pictures." :rotfl:

I really, really want to go to Disney for Christmas sometime. I love the way that the resorts are decorated. That tree is crazy!

How nice to have the perfect Wishes view!

I think so too :goodvibes

The view was amazing!!!! We were at the end of Main Street near the flag pole. I had the beautiful lit up Main Street buildings on both sides and the castle right in the center of my line of vision. :cloud9:

I love the GF pictures! I saw the GF in person for the first time this year! I looove the lobby!!!

I like to walk out on the beach. That's where Brooklynn first walked on sand, and it was so funny. She didn't walk, really, just stood there wondering what was going on beneath her feet, and the whole time she was calling, "Hep me!" in her little voice.

I hadn't seen those stickers before, either. The CM just insisted everyone have a couple. :)

I thought of you when I put those up and was hoping it wasn't going to hurt too badly. You're still going to eat, though, and you can go over there for the night activities, if you wanted to - maybe a movie night? :thumbsup2

It was very nice seeing the guy with the cider greeting everyone. It made just the walk in the door even more special.

We've seen wedding stuff going on over there, too. It is neat. I think getting married on the beach of the Polynesian or the GF would be rockin' awesome! :cool1: Do you have to have special permission to do that if you have your own preacher and everything, or can you just walk out there and get married?

*Sigh* I love the GF. :cloud9: I could just sit in the lobby all day, listening to the band and people watching.

I know you will love it when you get to see it in person. It's kind of hard to get the gingerbread house pictures with no people in them, though, because it's usually a busy spot.

Great update! The GF is just gorgeous! I hope to visit in May.
I couldn't help but think when I saw your pictures of Fullhouse when Jessie played the piano for Rebecca.

We will look forward to the pretty pictures you bring back. :goodvibes

Wouldn't it be fun to stumble upon some show in the process of filming sometime when you were visiting there?

Glad we could be of service. I'm hoping tinkgurl and wigd can find the way and feel comfortable at Pop when they are there from seeing our pictures, too.

Every resort is so nicely theme-decorated at Christmas. You will enjoy seeing them all.

Enjoy your uneventful weekend. Those are the best sometimes because they seem to last the longest.:lovestruc

It has been quiet so far. I put some papers in stacks to be graded when I get in the mood. I washed some dishes and folded some clothes. That's about it so far.

Wow, Drew is one heck of a photographer!! Except for those bird ones, those were horrible ;) :rotfl2:

Thanks for the compliment for Drew. I think the birds are cool. I am glad I am not afraid of them. One of these days, you and Dawn can go to The Tiki Room together and squeal away while the birds chatter away overhead.

I think so too :goodvibes

I'm glad you got to see it in person. It's always fun to do something new on a trip.

Wow, the GF is really pretty!!! It seems pretty fancy. I'm not sure it would be my style. Is it your style MeMom?

While MeMom and Drew were at Animal Kingdom Brooklynn enjoyed some down time watching Stacy.

IMG_5989.jpg

It was also time for a bath.

IMG_5993.jpg

Can you find her?

IMG_5995.jpg

John, the girls and I ate lunch in the room and then we grabbed Trent and Jarvis and headed to the Grand.

IMG_5997.jpg

There was an Epcot bus at the stop and a huge line at the Magic Kingdom stop so we hopped on the Epcot bus and planned on taking the monorail over. We got to the monorail station and it was blocked off. There were two CMs standing at the bottom. They were turning people away. We walked up and they asked our destination. We said we were headed to the TTC and then on to the Grand. They asked to see our park passes. We all pulled out our annual passes and they let us right through. As we were walking up the ramp the CMs were turning people away left and right. Just a few people were getting through.

We figured out why it was so hard to get to the monorail because the cars were packing into the TTC parking lot.

IMG_5998.jpg

We headed to the Resort monorail.

IMG_5999.jpg

We headed into the Grand to wait for MeMom.

IMG_6003.jpg

Wish I could have seen the balloon release but we were too busy having fun on the Poly beach.

IMG_6004.jpg

While we waited I took some pics of the girls in front of the tree.

MeMom finally arrived and we hopped the monorail to MK and then caught the boat to Fort Wilderness.
