Just wanted to know if anyone on here has had the opportunity to ride with characters recently? I was reading around and it seems to be more common at DL than at the Magic Kingdom (I only recall seeing Alice and the Mad Hatter riding the Tea Cups by themselves one time during my many visits to MK) so just wondering if anyone has gone on a ride with some lately? Anyone know if they are only allowed to ride with kids?

We've ridden the carousel with Alice and the whole gang before. It was very fun! I've actually seen them on that ride lots of times. :thumbsup2 I haven't seen any other characters on rides myself though, but maybe someone else has?

I saw Gepetto and Peter Pan on Storybook Land once. It was quite funny to see how scared poor Gepetto was when they went through Monstro. Sadly as I noticed this walking by the attraction, I don't know what other fun things happened. I've also heard of the princesses riding the carousel.

We got to ride the Carousel with Tigger and Pluto in Dec. And I've seen Mary Poppins riding the carousel before.

While I haven't seen it myself I have also heard that kids have been offered the opportunity to ride Pirates with Captain Hook and Jack Sparrow.

Whenever I ride with my relatives or friends, I am riding with characters! hehe! ;)

Haha Gisele! That was cute.

I haven't ridden with characters but I think they ride all the stuff in Fantasyland. I've seen Alice and the Mad Hatter ride with people, Peter Pan does it sometimes as well. I imagine they probably ride with kids as a first priority too so maybe that's why I've never done it.

Forgot to add, whenever you ride public transportation, such as MUNI (S.F.) you never know what group of characters you will end up riding with, and that can include the driver, as well!
You can also either learn a new language, or review one that you are learning.
Now this was off MUNI, but some time ago, on Geary Blvd. which has a Russian community, I was checking out one of the stores, and decided to practice some of my Russian with the clerk, well I am quite sure that I pronunciated my words correctly, but she kind of stared at me, as if I had weeds or something growing out of my ears, she grinned at me, and you know, I cannot remember if she responded, I believe she just said Thank you, in Russian. I have not practiced that language in some time, I need to work on that, I am also still interested in becoming fluent in French, Spanish, and German, sometimes I still have to work on my English! ha! ;) ( I was born and raised in Ca.)

Last December my son ALMOST got to ride dumbo with his favorite character Pluto. We saw some characters over on he other side of Dumbo and some kids. My son asked if he could go see Pluto so we walked over. We were the only other ones over there and stood back because I didn't want to intrude if it was a special thing. There was a CM and I think there was 3 of 4 characters and some families. We found out later that some families were chosen to ride with the characters on Dumbo. Well the little boy that was chosen to ride with dumbo was too scared and walked away so the cm looked over at my son and motioned us forward.......but then my other son came over to us also and the Cm saw so he waved another child over to ride with Pluto. My heart sunk for my son. He didn't know what was going on, but I did and felt bad for him :( We waited so maybe we could get a pic with Pluto when they got off and I asked the Cm but by then there was a TON of people around trying to get pics with the characters and the Cm was trying to make is special for those families. He told everyone where they could see the characters later that this was a special dream for these families. He looked at me and said sorry that if he let my son take a pic he would have to let everyone take pics too. I understood but was bummed for my son since we were there b4. Anyway he was sad he couldn't take a pic and was crying of course. Well all of a sudden we saw the Cm come up to us and apologize many times. He told me that he was going to let me son ride with Pluto until he saw my other son--they both couldn't ride so he didn't want to be unfair. (The sad part was our older son said he wouldn't of cared if his brother rode with pluto....) The cm gave the boys a couple signed pics of the characters--that made their day :) My heart still sinks to this day when I think about how he ALMOST got to ride dumbo with his favorite character Pluto. He would have remembered that forever :)

It is too bad, that the CM, assumed that your other son would want to ride as well, that is too bad, how awkward, and rather annoying!
I hope that your family will not be disappointed on your next trip.
I believe that the CM, was trying to do the best job possible, it is just that between having to work within certain confines, and distractions, as well with differing cultures, and personalities, not everyone can be made happy all of the time, although it sure would be great if that could be done. ;)

I agree....I don't blame the CM for anything...he did his best :)We were lucky to almost have been picked anyway---we were just at the right place at the right time :) We are taking the boys back in October so who knows what can happen :)

I've seen Alice and the Mad Hatter on the Tea Cups several times with other kids..

My boys were able to play musical chairs with peter pan, capt. hook, alice, the mad hatter and the rabbit(not sure of his name :). It was so cute :) Except my son said he didn't like peter pan after that because he was mean :) Every time peter got behind him he would tilt my son's hat forward :)being playful as peter is :) But my son took is as he was being mean to him---my husband and I thought that was funny :)

That is too funny, in time, I am sure, that he will figure out the difference between being slightly annoying, to just being down right out of line, and all that can take place between the two.
