So it's been years (over a decade) since either DH or I have been to Disney world and are thinking about riding the monorail resort loop once just for the relaxed fun and to get peaks at the different resorts.

DH raised a question though that I hope someone here can answer for me. Just how long does it take to do a full loop on the monorail?

Express loop: maybe 10-15 minutes.
Resort loop: maybe 20-25 minutes.
Epcot loop: maybe 25-30 minutes.

We always ride the monorail just for fun! I always try to get different colors at each stop too! As usual, Mesaboy has the timings pretty much perfect! :thumbsup2 Have fun!

Thank you! DH was worried that it might take an hour! I didn't think that seemed right!

The always helpful Disers to the rescue again! Thanks for the help!:thumbsup2

Considering the sad news involving DME today, this squirrel brightened my evening!

I have "fond" memories of being stuck near the Poly for some technical issue for 45 minutes, but it definitely wasn't squirrel related!

our last morning before heading to airport, we always eat at ohana, then hop on the monorail for a final loop to say goodbye to the castle.

I love the monorail! I always try to make a point of staying at one of the monorail resorts at least once a year, as they are amazing and I just love the idea of being on the monorail. When I'm not staying at one of the resorts though, I love to just take it for a ride. If you can, try to get on it at night. Maybe grab dinner at one of the hotels, dessert at another, and drinks and the final one. Going around the loop and seeing the lake at night is just amazing!

So I am guessing that if you aren't staying at a resort and staying off site (Bonnet Creek), But you are visiting the park. You can take the monorail to a resort(s) of your choice and take a look around and then get back on it to get back to the park.....

yep, you can take the monorail to resorts you aren't staying at. you just get on, they don't check anything.

We could save ourselves a bundle of money and just take my youngest child on the monorail all day long! As far as he is concerned, riding the monorail is just as much fun as going to the parks.

Often the monorail is more cramped and uncomfortable to me than "fun" but kids seem to enjoy it. The boat is fun, too. You could take the boat to Fort Wilderness and walk around there for a bit, too, for some non-park fun. Though, just don't get stuck on one of the open boats when the afternoon storm starts!
