No flames to any of the posters please!

Would you or have you ridden Test Track pregnant? If so how many weeks along were you?:

No. It's not something I would ride while pregnant. Remember there is that part where they demonstrate a break failure. You get tossed around a bit. Definitely not worth the risk.

I was 14 and 15 weeks along and I chose not to. If the ride suggested not to ride if pregnant, I followed that advice. Though things may have turned out fine, I just didn't want to risk it. And if something in my pregnancy had gone wrong, I would have likely wondered if it was from riding a non-recommended ride. I still had a good trip apart from being sick with all day sickness (I would have been thankful to only have morning sickness!). Overall, I still felt like there was so much I could do. If you are going soon, hope you have a magical time! :goodvibes

I would have. I found test track no rougher than riding on 95 in the northeast or bumpier than the roads in the spring time. What about the bake test? you stop quickly, the baby is padded and you aren't thrown against the belt that hard. It isn't like you are thrown at great force it is just a quick stop, you are probably thrown harder against the belt on a plane with a quick landing. If you are afraid of test track then you better not fly.

You can fall flat on your face without hurting the baby so I seriously don't think a bit of pressure from a seat belt will do anything. If it was hard enough to hurt the baby people would be getting off with deep bruises!! and they aren't.

I was not pregnant at disney..that said there are very few rides I wouldnt have done while preg. I would have done test track, after all we ride in cars everyday
I did ride horses while I was pregnant, carried hay bales and a variety of other heavy lifting chores including shearing sheep.

I will tell you the advice my doctor gave. If it is something you are use to and do on a typical regular bases(like i usually rode horses) then there was no reason to stop unless you start having any trouble/symptoms. However, if you didnt typically do something..maybe you never rode horses before, during pregnancy wasnt the time to start.

so are you active? in good shape? healthy? do the rides scare you a lot? is your pregnancy going well?

every person is different on how they will answers these, so whether you should do a ride or not do a ride will be based more on your personal health and activity levels, than whether someone else could do it safely or not

The only reason to not ride is if you are too big to fit in the car or if the seatbelt is cutting in because it won't extend far enough. Other than that the baby is encased I'm water and won't feel anything. Mothers are paranoid and Disney wants to avoid litigation and that is the only reason why the signs to not ride while pregnant exist. It says to not ride the safari while pregnant and that is so gentle it's ridiculous.

I am thinking if you have to consider if a particular ride is safe while pregnant than you probably should skip it.
Why would anyone want to take a chance?

I didn't ride while pregnant only because I was having issues getting dizzy from pressure on my sinuses, but I will tell you DH rode and I walked up to the line with him and the CM suggest I not ride. The only ride I went on was the Safari because here in MA the highway has worse bumps then the safari does.

Very well stated :thumbsup2

I rode Test Track while 9 weeks pg. My doctor (a HUGE Disney World fan) gave me the same basic advice as the previous poster's gave her. I'll mention that this was my 5th pregnancy and I had always had textbook easy first and second trimesters during my pregnancies. I had ridden TT several times before so I knew when to expect the roughness and was prepared for it. During the early stages of pg, that baby is extremely well protected by fluid. I've had friends go through car accidents, a fall down a flight of stairs (that broke bones), and a fall from a horse with no effects on their first trimester pregnancies.

My doctor told me that he wouldn't recommend me going on rides with long periods of high gravitational pull (like Mission Space). He was fine with me doing Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, etc. I did choose not to do the roller coasters but did ride Splash Mountain.

ETA: I've been to numerous amusement parks in addition to Disney while pregnant. I swear that 95% of the rides have the "do not ride if pregnant" warning -- including Merry-go-rounds and kiddie trains at some parks. Like a pp stated, it's to avoid litigation. Having that warning on most rides makes it difficult to make an informed decision. I choose to follow my doctor's advice since he's the pregnancy expert and he knows how my body handles pregnancy.

If you are not very far along, I would definitely ride it. If you are pretty big, it may be really uncomfortable. That being said, my doctor cleared me to ride coasters while pregnant with no problem. We went to IOA while I was pregnant with our youngest. I did all of the roller coasters several times, although they did make me queasy, with no problems.

I'll be 25 weeks pregnant this time at WDW. I hate to miss the thrill rides! BUT pregnancy is for such a short time and there is so much to lose if something did go wrong. So, I will pass and ride them next year. I feel when it comes to baking a baby that that's it better to be safe than sorry.

If Disney was a once in a lifetime trip for me, I'd cancel and go at a later time when I wasn't pregnant.

I went on a hay ride when I was pregnant and that was way bumpier/jerkier than Test Track is. Not saying you should or shouldn't ride it, because I think you should make that decision. If you are worried about it, I think the best person to ask whether or not you should/could ride it would be your doctor.

To the people who say they wouldn't risk it there are so many things you are doing (for most people) that cause actual harm to the fetus that you don't even think about that it's funny that something so innocent is considered a "risk". I would be far more concerned about drinking from plastic bottles when pregnant than riding test track lol. Regardless if there was a miscarriage of course the person would blame disney because that is what is easiest to do. Fact is tons of people jog well into their pregnancies and in fact it is encouraged to stay active and the force on the fetus from jogging is probably very similar to test track

No, I wouldn't. What if you were on that outside portion of the track that goes really fast and a situation occurred where they had to stop the ride suddenly? Disney posts warnings for a reason. They take scenarios like this into account when making the decision whereas your doctor will probably base their opinion solely on normal riding conditions. There are so many rides at Disney without the warning pregnant ladies can go on and enjoy without worrying. To me it's just not worth the risk, no matter how small it might be. I'd sit it out until after the baby was born.

I did ride it when pregnant, but I didn't know I was pregnant. I was about 5 weeks at the time. I rode all sorts of rides, but then again, the baby was well inside my pelvis. Had I known I was pregnant, I probably would have skipped BTMRR, Splash Mountain, and Test Track. Nothing happened though. I have an adorable 9 week old now.
