Ridiculous

It's actually getting beyond ridiculous. Last week had insane amount of trouble using very legal transferred in points.
DVC wants us to do things OURSELVES and yet when we really want to and try, we can't. Makes totally no sense.

It's all becoming far too much work in order to have fun.

Were you trying to use transferred points more than 7 months out? Even after the change last fall to transferred points showing online, home resort bookings have always still required a call.

Have to say I never had issues in the past booking with transferred points once they showed up online. They were resale points booked on a resale only membership at the time.

I didn’t either booking within 7 months. But most report it doesn’t work during home resort bookings of the points and have to call. Once 7 months hits, no issues.

Okay called and asked to have my rooms merged on October 25th.

Still not merged as of tonight.

Calling again today as things are still not merged.... Wanting to get my room request in but waiting until my reservation is combined to do so.

We are now 10 business days and 14 days in to the request being submitted.

Question for those of you who are waiting such a long time for the merging of reservations. What are you doing about park passes? I know w/an AP you have to link your park pass w/a specific stay. Once the reservation gets merged do they also move your park passes to the one continuous stay?

It didn't impact mine at all once I had a merged one. It just showed that I still had all of my reservations there. Since I don't have any that are not attached to a trip, it doesn't apply to me for the number you can have outside of that.

Got it. I just wondered if they had to do something on the backend to tie them all to the same reservation number (and perhaps that is why it is taking so much longer to merge reservations now.).

Well still issues and they can't merge my reservations with the 60 days approaching.

Hoping it gets merged so I can make all my dining reservations together otherwise I might need to find a work around.

What some have done as a work around is book a cash stay, pay the deposit, book your dining, and then cancel it. Since you still have your DVC reservations for all the days, it should not impact them at all.

Coming soon: member services Lightning lanes! For only $15 per call you can skip the stand by line to speak with MS.

I would pay $30 to use a workable website that allowed you to make all changes yourself.

We did this over the summer when we were doing a 3 way split. We booked a cash only stay at Pop for the entire duration of our stay (only having to pay a deposit for the first night). Booked our dining and then cancelled.

Okay, I just called to have 2 reservations merged into one so I could have just one reservation # and now instead of just doing it on the spot, the CM puts through a merge form. Since when has this been happening? You would think doing something like this should get easier not more time-consuming. I was told it would just be a couple of days but after reading some of these posts, I expect that is just a pipedream. :sad2:

Read through the thread, it's what it is about. You can figure out the timeline from the posts....

Okay. So fairly recent then. I did browse through but I just thought there may be other threads about the same topic that I just couldn't find. It's been a while since I've had to contact MS.

I merge alot and have never had a CM do it by phone. They have always had to submit a request. Of course, normally, I just request via chat or via email. Its mostly often down within a few days.

Really? I thought they would be able to go in and do this. I too, usually email them but decided to call this time and was taken aback when she mentioned a merge form. Maybe I'm misremembering, but I thought they had done this for me at least once before. :confused3 I guess not. There's one good thing though, I learned not to waste my time calling.

Which is why I just use chat now most every time. Easy and much less wait time than by phone!
