Rides while pregnant?

I will be about 5 months pregnant on our upcoming trip. Obviously I will be skipping the mountains and ToT (:sad1:) but I was wondering if I need to also skip Kilimanjaro Safari (which I know has a warning) and Soarin (which I don't know if this has a warning and I won't be terribly sad if I skip it). I know I went on KS at 6 weeks pregnant before and felt safe but not sure how smart that really was.

I did the safari ride at 13 weeks pg. I just braced myself so I didn't bounce around as much as everyone else. I didn't think it was a big deal. I also went on Soarin a few times - just closed my eyes when I started feeling a little queasy. I'm now 31 weeks pg & everything is going fine so the rides certainly didn't hurt the baby.

The safari is no worse than some roads in the Northeast LOL!

I can't even begin to imagine why a pregnant woman couldn't go on soarin?

I've done the Safari at six-months pregnant with absolutely no problem. It's just a few bumps. My doctor said, anything my 16-month-old could go on, I could go on. So, toddler and pregnant mommy both enjoyed Safari. I have not done Sourin' pregnant or not pregnant, but you should get some great advice here....Enjoy and congratulations.

I would probably just ask your doctor, so you feel comfortable with your decision. You'll always get ranges of answers. I've been to Disney 4 times while pregnant at different stages and have ridden everything I could fit into. Though I do not ride Rockin Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, Expedition Everest or Space Mountain even when I'm not pregnant ;) Your baby is pretty well padded inside of you.

I did KS when I was at WDW last time and I was 5 mo PG with my son, no problems. I am leaving this Friday for the parks and once again I am 5 mo PG with our newest addition. I don't like soarin anyways (makes me sick) so I don't know about that one..... Anything that my DD at 19 months last trip could do, Mommy could do.

I did both at 6 mo no problem. Soarin doesn't even have a warning. For the Safari just request to sit in the front row or two. Much less bumpy there :thumbsup2

I see lots of Prego moms ride KS and the CMs always direct them to the front rows if they notice them.

I wouldn't personally risk it again. We went when I was just 6 weeks pregnant, and I rode the safari and splash mountain. I ended up with placenta previa and abruption later in the pregnancy. I'm NOT saying these rides caused it, but you never know if you have are or prone to these conditions. And the rides could set it off. I know now that any kind of bumpy motion could be harmful. Just my experience, though.

I think there is a list on allear.net on rides that have restrictions for pregnant women. Worth checking it out and also talking to your doctor. Congrats!

I'd also recommend checking with your doctor... I actually asked mine about certain rides specifically when I was pregnant. (Good thing he had been to Disney and knew what I was talking about!) I avoided KS... mostly because my bladder couldn't handle baby pressure and the bouncing. :rotfl:

We went when I was 6mths pregnant and I avoided it after speaking with my OB. After all the walking and other rides I actually enjoyed the 30 minutes to shop and have a frozen lemonade with my feet up while the rest of my family rode the ride.
However I do think that KS is not that bumpy, but you never know.
