E are going on our first trip in nov. I have vertigo pretty bad.. I get dizzy pretty easy. What rides do you think would be ok for me and which ones should I stay away from. I want to ride and have fun but also don't want to get on something that would put me out for the day cause wants I get sick it last for a few hours.

It's really hard to say since everyone is different. What types of things in every day life cause the motion sickness? For instance, if elevators and escalators cause problems I would imagine you'll probably end up sitting out lots of rides.

Have you considered taking Dramamine, something similar or even ginger pills to help alleviate the motion sickness? Have you considered talking to your doctor about getting the patch for your trip? I'd really hate to go to Disney and not be able to go on the majority of the attractions.

You should absolutely stay away from Mission Space- my wife gets motion sick and that's the only ride she doesn't do.

If dizziness is the issue then I would definitely avoid the spinning rides. The Teacups and other "spinners" are obvious of course, but also watch out for Mission: SPACE (though the Green Team side does not spin at all), Primevil Whirl, Kali River Rapids (as the boat can get to spinning), and Toy Story Midway Mania (it whips around the corners with a spinning motion, though it is not very fast). Honestly I doubt Kali and TSMM would really make you too dizzy, but I just wanted you to be aware. Hope you have a wonderful trip!

OP I think your question will be very difficult to answer since different vertigo sufferers have different triggers. Aside from the coasters and simulator rides, it is difficult to know what might trigger you, but BrianL had good suggestions. Are you already on medication for your condition? If not, I suggest a visit to your doctor.

Have you guys tried Mission: SPACE Green Team: Less Intense Training? It does not spin at all, and honestly I find the experience to be largely still a lot of fun. I ride it because of my back, but it's a good solution to avoid the spinning for any reason. Now, claustrophobia on the other hand....

My DH gets motion sickness from anything that spins. He also doesn't like motion simulators. He doesn't go on these:

MK
Mad Tea Party
Dumbo
Carrousel
Astro Orbiter
Aladdin's Magic Carpets
Mickey's Philharmagic

Epcot
Mission Space
Soarin'

DHS
Star Tours

AK
Triceratops Spin
Primeval Whirl

There might be other rides you feel sick on. DH is fine with drops and speed.

I would also say to avoid Space Mountain because it is a bit jerky and there is one part specifically that I can remember where you circle round and round on the track.

Like PPs said, need to know more about your triggers, if its spinning something as simple as Buzz could trigger you, if its heights something as simple as TTA could set you off.

While I don't suffer from vertigo or motion sickness, I've gone to WDW with those who do, and the rides they avoid are Soarin', Tower of Terror (that falling, tummy-flipping, knees-weakened feeling is what gets them), the teacups, Primeval Whirl, Mission:Space (though my bf was able to do this and ToT with no issues, he couldn't do Soarin'), and Expedition Everest (the backwards motion is the trigger, but the rest of the ride is fine).

I would think you will be fine on -(Magic Kingdom)

• Jungle Cruise
• Pirates of the Caribbean
• Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room (not really a ride)
• It's a Small World
• Mickey's PhilharMagic(not really a ride)
• The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
• Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor(not really a ride)
• Stitch's Great Escape!(not really a ride)
• Tomorrowland Speedway
• Tomorrowland Transit Authority
• Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress (not really a ride, but it moves)
The Hall of Presidents

Hollywood Studio's
• Raiders of the Lost Ark.(not really a ride)
• Muppet*Vision 3D, a 3D film experience starring The Muppets
• Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show, a car/motorcycle stunt show
Honey, I Shrunk the Kids: Movie Set Adventure,
• Studio Backlot Tour,
• The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow, a special effects experience(not really a ride)
• The Great Movie Ride
The Little Mermaid (not really a ride)

Animal Kingdom
• It's Tough to be a Bug!(not really a ride)
• Kilimanjaro Safaris

Epcot
Journey into Imagination with Figment
Living with the Land
Ellen's Energy Adventure

Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the responses... I guess I should put some of the things that make me dizzy.... The Carousel does can't do it... When riding in front of car can't turn around to back. I know at the fair I rode the pirate ship and let's say that wasn't very wise but did it for kids had to go straight home sick rest of the night lol... Let's see at water park I was good on all water slides except the enclosed one where you pop out at end had to lay down with eyes closed for a bout hour to recoup lol.. I really avoid a lot due to fear of getting sick but I really want to ride some rides with my kids....
