Are there any rides that we should avoid because we are pooh sized people. I would die of embarassment if I tried to get on a ride and didn't fit. We have been to the Magic Kingdom before with no problems, but we are going to all the parks this time and I am a little worried. Thanks!

there is a section on allears.net (allears-dot-net) addressing this. Dh is a big guy and he really doesn't have any problems in the other parks. At MK he doesn't do the Astro orbiter but that's about it.

I think that you are gonna find that almost every ride at Disney will be able to accomodate you. During my trip of june 08 I was around 320lbs and only had to get off one ride. It was the roller coaster simulator at Disney Quest. since that time I have lost about forty lbs:yay: Im positve that ur gonna be able to ride just about anything they have.

If you follow the link in my signature to the disABILITIES FAQs thread, post #3 has a link to the attractions picture page at allearsnet.comthere is also a link to my DISphoto album which contained many attraction seating photos. Many of them are shwing the wheelchair accessible car, but they also show the Companion seat, which is the same as other seats for that attraction.
Also, near the top of the disABILITIES Board, you will find the Epcot FAQs thread. That is not complete yet (real life gets in the way of finishing things on the DIS). It does have a lot of attraction photos though.

you might want to ride alone if you think you'd be squished with someone else in the vehicle. Disney is really good about this! This is one reason I LOVE taking my kids to Disney...I had a traumatic experience at the Mall of America when my older son was small. I couldn't get the seat belts or lap bars to fasten and had to get off rides because of it. I weighed a lot less then than I do now!

I'm happy to say that in a total of 5 Disney trips I've never found a ride at any park...California or Florida...that I couldn't ride!

Goofy's Barnstormer can be a tight squeeze as it's built for the little people of the world.
HM felt a little tighter this time (post-2 babies) but I'm not sure how much that was me or the child I was holding in my lap...

Check with allears and see how you feel after that.

I didn't have trouble on any of the rides. :goodvibes

Turnstiles, however, were snug at Small World and Haunted Mansion. I thought the exit turnstile on the left at Small World to be a bit bigger than the others. ;)

Hi! I am very Pooh sized 5'2" and weight is 260lb size 22/24. So yes very Pooh sized. I went on all the rides with my size 14 daughter. I or we had no problems. I did not feel squished on any ride. Have fun and don't let size worry you on vacation. I actually saw Pooh Size people in bathing attire walking around the happiest place on earth. Have a great vacation:thumbsup2princess:

Other than the turnstile issue a pp mentioned the only issues I had were when riding with my little one on a couple of rides. The issue was not that I didn't fit but that the bar didn't come down all the way to my DS's lap so I was worried about him slipping out between the bar and the side of the car when we went around some of the turns at high speed. This in particular was a problem on BTMRR where the gap was bigger than he is and the car is sideways almost as it goes around some of those turns. I had to keep a tight hold on his waistband to keep him from sliding around too much.

Both my DH and I are pooh sized and we have no problems at all at WDW. Just don't be afraid to request a car for one if you think it's needed or request to be put in a different part of a ride vehicle. Some of the water boats have smaller front or back rows and if you are in one of those it can get a little squished. Don't worry and just relax and enjoy the magic!

I myself am Cinderella's Fairy Godmother's twin. I have never had a problem at Disney. Be yourself and have fun. Life's too short to worry.:thumbsup2

Count me in on the Pooh sized..The only ride that I though was uncomfortable was Dumbo, but I was riding it with my sister who is also pooh sized!! Losing weight for this trip, so hoping that we will be a lot more comfortable ridding my childhood favorite!!

Here's how to do BTMRR and other lapbar rides: Have your child get in first and sit down. Then, as you are sitting down, pull the lap bar with you. Do not sit first and try to lower the bar.

A Pooh sized friend gave me this tip before my first trip and I was amazed at how well it works. I could get the lap bar down to the top of my thighs...tight enough that I didn't have to worry about my kids flying out!

Yes, it is a little squooshedy for me, but I'd rather have a roll of fat rearranged for a couple of minutes than risk having my kid getting tossed around!
