if we have the DAS but my son doesn't want to do a particular ride because he's scared, can we do a rider Switch even those he meets the height requirement for the ride? I've heard that rider Switch is for those who don't meet height requirement but wasn't sure if it's different with a das holder.

According to the Disney website, it's for anyone who "does not wish to board a particular attraction." That said, there have been reports of CMs not giving them. If it was me, I'd press it, but I also have never had an issue getting the pass.

Note: if using the DAS return time, the DAS rider MUST ride.

Also, not all rides offer the rider switch. One of the reasons we haven't gone on Haunted Mansion on our last 3 trips.

They may give you a rider switch pass but it really depends on the CM. It won't work with the DAS if the DAS is your sons and he's not riding. You will have to either have a FP+ or use the standby or single rider lines if he's not riding.

I'm confused by the DAS part. If it is for a ride where you had the DAS return time then you won't be able to use the DAS or if you enter the line with a DAS I don't believe you can get a rider switch either.

If you would just wait in standbye then yes you could request a rider swap card but soem CMs do say they are for too short kids only even though the written rules state otherwise.

We wouldn't use the das if he's not riding - just wanting to use rider Switch. Since he technically qualifies for the ride wasn't sure if they would let us do it.

I would not count on the DAS having impact on whether or not you are allowed a Rider Switch. I know the website states the Rider Switch can be obtained for anyone choosing not to ride, however in practice it seems most CMs will only issue one for a child who is too short to ride. Rider Switch is only offered on those rides with height restrictions. If the child is tall enough to ride, you might want to try and plan FP+ for those rides he is unlikely to do.

Enjoy your vacation!
