Rider Switch: 2 guests?

I was looking on Disney's web site regarding the Rider Switch pass. It says it is good for only 2 guests. I know in the past it was good for more. Has anyone used it recently? How many did they let on with the pass?

Perhaps 2 is the official number and cast members make their own decisions from there?

The rider switch pass that I have from Saturday states that it is good for 3 guests.

The rider switch tickets are preprinted (my one from Saturday is valid until 7/31), the CM cannot decide the number to put on it.

As far as I remember the passes were valid for the holder plus 2 additional guests. The last time we used these passes was about 6 or 7 years ago so things may have changed.

Edit: Just looked at the link from the OP. It looks like things have changed. It seems to be a max of 2 guests on the switch.

We used the swap system in April, and they still said up to 3 total. I had read they changed it to 2 online, so I looked. Granted, we never used it for more than two, but the card does say up to 3 total.

We were at MK last Friday, 6-27, and we did rider swap for many rides, they all allowed 3 people to ride the second time. We had 5 people in our group, and Space, SDMT, BTMR, all allowed 3 guests to come back to ride. Peter Pan would not let us swap; the CM said only rides where there is a height requirement. But, our 'scared' daughter was tall enough to ride those rides, she just didn't want to and we were allowed to swap for everything else. They gave us a paper ticket to bring back.

To get a rider switch pass your family must approach the entrance, stand-by or FP+ if you have one scheduled, and request one. You'll ride while your husband stays with your daughter, and when you're finished he'll take the switch pass to the FP+ entrance for his turn.

Yes, talk to the CM at the beginning of the line, and ask them what to do. It seems like each ride was slightly different; at space mountain we all had FP+s and they made us all go in through the FP line, and my wife and two kids waited while my daughter and I rode, then we switched right away and I waited with the two little ones and she rode with my daughter. Some other rides just let the two riders go in, and gave us a paper FP right there that we could come back any time to use. Others the two riders went partway in the line and got a FP paper pass there. Just ask the CM at the beginning of the line.

I think it could depend on if your child is ABLE to ride the ride or not. I received the rider swap tickets when my child was too short for a ride, since they won't let someone in a queue who is too short to ride. When some of my kids were too scared to ride TOT another time, they did an internal rider swap where I rode with my son and then swapped places with my husband who was then able to ride with my son again. I think this helps cut down on the abuse of this system

You will all have to wait in the SB line or the FP line if all have them, yes, that means you would have to burn an FP for the one who is afraid to ride and do a Rider Swap.

It seems to me that what many people have been reporting lately is that most CMs assume the second option and have not been allowing the first option (even when all members have FP+ including the non-rider).

I always ask for Rider Swap, and they always hand me a card for three people. I never knew there was another option.
