RideMax Users Thread (FAQs Linked in First Post!)

I really wish that they would come out with a RideMax feature for the iPhone and other portable devices. If you end up with an unexpected wait at a restaurant one afternoon (such as being seated way after your ADR - which is highly likely) then the rest of your schedule is messed up and there is no way to redo it on the fly in the parks. You just have to wing it which to me defeats the purpose of purchasing RideMax.

How awesome would that be :cool1: I'd even buy an iPhone if they had one :rotfl2:

I'll actually be in Florida (Disney and the beach) for a week before my kids get there for our family trip. I'll have a computer so that I can run RM the day before they arrive, but without a printer, it's going to be a pain!

Open RideMax. Pick a park and day. Then select Tips & Hints. Select Which Days, Which Parks. There they are.

I hadn't seen this before and just did it. I'm so happy - every day but 1 we'll be in a RM recommended park!! Our first day we'll be at MK which is just "OK". But at least none are not recommened days!

I'm not downloading RM til next week, but do they agree w/ the UG as far recommended park days?

I actually use TGM for my recommended park days...they agree pretty closely....but, not always with UG. The only one I am not is Fantasmic night at DHS....obviously gonna be busy.

subbing & waiting for june dates...
I just found this thread. This sounds really cool. Can't wait to start.

If it's good for 30 days, should I go ahead & purchase it to play around & get familiar with it?

Is it worth having RM as well as TGM?

I have a long time to decide (October) but would love to know if you guys also use TGM...

I think you mean 90 Days. Sure you can since your with in your window, or wait and check this thread from time to time. I as well as others will announce when June is up.

If you do subscribe right now, just be aware that it will be like having a new toy at Christmas, but without the batteries. The other thing is that even if you put your plan together 6 weeks out, you want to re run you plans shortly before your trip to get more accurate show times and in case Mark has had to change the wait time bucket.

I have a feeling that this year will be unlike any other.

I have not, but if we pull the trigger and go for my Birtday in Sept, I probably will get it just because that is the way I am wired. :rotfl2:

Ok-i just downloaded it. I've been playing w/ May. :thumbsup2OMG! I'm hooked. it's so cool. I just can't wait til june comes out so I can do some serious planning!!!

I'm glad you are enjoying it. I have so much fun making my plans. I am anxiously waiting for June to be released too. Not that I won't change things up until the last minute, but I would love to see what sort of wait times we will have compared to our January trip.

Is there anywher I can see a sample real sized, not just the small one with little bubbles. I find that sample really hard to look at.....

Just if anyone has an old page saved from a past trip etc?

I was almost going to quickly throw together a plan using just the 4 and 5 star attractions and provide a link, then I noticed that RideMax is "for your personal use only, and otherwise may not be reproduced or transmitted ... including the internet ... This restriction extends to prohibit the sharing of individual wait time estimates, tips, recommended touring order, and FASTPASS "return window" recommendations." I agree RideMax would benefit from a better sample.

I'm in for the ridemax trip. Just got ridemax SW 4/11 and I'm really impressed. Made four experimental plans in less than 1 hour. Will use these to tweek and devise multiple plans for days and times and morning and afternoons. I really think the flexibility is what will put this above the other I have used to date, UG. Now I can go with plan A, plan B etc. Will know just how good it works by May 17. I see you can't do Sundays. So i just used another day during our week there for Sunday. DHS Fantasmic I "computed" on Thursday instead. Interested to see how that comes out. I need to spend time on this thread to find all of the hints and helps. Thanks to all for sharing. Hope to see you some day at THE HAPPY PLACE.

Has anyone had a problem getting a decent plan in AK in "slow" mode? We'll only be there from 9am-1pm, and if a put in a morning break for the safari (b/c we want to do it first) the slow mode seems to always have me waiting in the standby line for EE (usually a 30-60 minute wait :scared1:!). I can get a near perfect plan in "normal" mode-- it sends me to get a FP for EE right after my Safari "break" in the morning. Will normal mode be too much for me, dh, my mom and dad (who still move fast), and our two preschoolers (in a double stroller)? I've been able to use the slow mode on all the other plans, but this one's just not working out. Anyone have advice/experience? --Katie

I don't think these can be shared or reproduced. But, you can buy it - it is not expensive, and if you don't like it get a refund. I just used in from 4/5-4/10, yes while parks were being closed due to attendance, and I am very happy with RideMax.

Kathy-- Tell us your stories!!! Were the wait time estimates right on track with RideMax? What about the best days for each park? How long did you have to wait for some of the big headliners? --Katie

yes, I find that I definitely have to use "Normal" mode for AK if we want to do Safaris first - and I'm thinking we do, b/c DD will not be tall enough for Everest, so I'd hate to have the boys go to that and do something without her first. We're also planning a 9-1 day, on a Sunday, so I'm using the Saturday before for our plans. If I do Slow mode it has standby line for EE with a 57 minute wait - no way!

Our kids are a little older, but I'm using slow in MK and I think Epcot to avoid too much bouncing around more than anything. We'll have 1 stroller most days I think, but I know DH would not be keen on going from Fantasyland to Frontierland and then back again, etc.

But for AK, I think it's going to work for us to do normal. We're only listing 4 attractions - Safari (as a break), EE, Kali and Dinosaur and lunch at Flame Tree. Has us using FP for EE only and a little backtracking, but just for that (so DD and I don't necessarily have to walk back there with them). If the plan is too 'fast", it also has us with 1 hour and 20 mins of free time. We'll maybe check out the tree, play in the Dino area, or go to see characters at Camp Minnie-Mickey (or DD and I will do that while the boys are on EE). So if it's too fast, it will just shrink that free time a bit - which is right before lunch, with only EE after.

Sandy-- I have a feeling we may run into you at AK-- We're going to be there on Sunday, May 3rd (I'm using May 2nd for the plan)-- by your countdown ticker, I'm guessing that you guys will be there the same date :goodvibes! We'll also be doing many of the same attractions. We're doing the safari first and we also want to do dinosaur, EE, triceratop spin, and the Lion King Show (I might switch this one for Nemo-- my two boys are in disagreement about which show to see!). The boys will spend some time in the boneyard, too (probably while some of the big people are riding EE), and we are planning on eating at Flametree! We'll be sure to wave if we see you (I'll look for the other mom with a RideMax plan in her hands :rotfl:)! --Katie

LOL, Katie!! Yep, that's when we'll be there!! I need to get a LGMH to put on the stroller, I'm sure we'll run into you at some point!
