I've read the ride descriptions under themeparks on this website. Only Incredible Hulk was obvious in that there is a loop and it will go upside down.

Could anyone tell me what other rides may go upside down?

Also I was kind of underwhelmed while reading the rides and descriptions. We try to ride everything together but there are exceptions. What would you consider must do's for a "family" to do together? (DH and DS9 and myself)

Other than FJ in Harry Potter are there other rides that have size limitations?
(not height requirements)
TIA

Other must dos are Spiderman, Jurassic Park, The Mummy, MIB, ET and Terminator. There are others, but these are my favorites and IMO are the absolutely must do. YOu already mentioned the HP ride. These are all fairly tame rides too, no upside down, except the Mummy does get fast at one point and turns into a coaster kind of. But it doesn't go really high, just really fast. But its such a great themed/movie type experience ride, its not to be missed. The special effects and story is very cool.

The Dragon Challenge, Hulk & RRR go upside down. As for size, it all depends some have modified seating-Hulk, Dragon, RRR & FJ. Some may be tight depending on shape and size like Mummy, Ripsaw Falls & ET. As for family must do's depends on age, my favorite rides are the water rides JPRA is my fav then Popeye. But there are a lot of rides that ride 3-4 across the seat or car that the whole family can ride together.

We enjoyed all the rides together as a family.

as for upside down, the hulk. dragon challange, and Rip Ride all are upseide downers....Harry Potter ALMOST goes upside down.

I think most of the rides are great as a family...especially the Sipsons, ET, Spiderman, MIB, and the Mummy.

I dont think that the descriptions, especially on the US website do the rides justice...they are better than the descriptions

FYI. RRR DOESN'T go upside down - it goes OVER the top of the loop. It's lap bar only, so you'd fall out if it did! :scared:
I thought it was the most uncomfortable ride in the park - they really need to put more padding in the seats.
I think The Mummy is a great "intro" roller coaster - it's dark enough inside so you really can't see too much of the track to scare you, plus it doesn't have too extreme of a drop or go too fast. Plus, the ride theme keeps you interested enough so you don't get too scared of the coaster part. It's kinda like an old school "woodie", with a lap bar only. Hope this helps! :goodvibes
I like The Simpsons, ET, Spider Man, MIB & Minion Mayhem too for a family-type ride.

Pretty much everything is a must-do for someone. Take a look at youtube videos. They will give you a great idea of what might work or not work for your family.

The rides that people may have size issues with have tests seats outside somewhere.

These include Hulk, Duelling Dragons, Dr Dooms Fearfall, Forbidden Journey, RRR and The Mummy.

Hulk and Duelling Dragons do have loops and you will go upside down.

And RRR definately doesn`t go upside down. You do have an amazing vertical climb at the beginning though :thumbsup2

We ride everything together. But it is a good idea to have a look on youtube for videos and see if there`s anything you will or won`t like.

Have fun :thumbsup2

Well, it's not really just a lap bar. The lap restraint is very wide and broad, and it nearly meets a between the legs bar that would prevent you from slipping all the way out (like during the flat on your back ascent). I studied that restraint hard after going on it with my son and bruising both of us b/c I was so afraid he was going to fall out (like my hand grip could keep him in!).

And physics would actually keep you in your seat through a loop even without ANY restraint. Restraints for many coasters are not just for the forces of the ride, but to keep the overly-adventurous or suicidal people from standing up.

All of the "big" rides have size constraints. All the big coasters, and FJ, and even the Mummy. DH is about 340 and 5'10", with his weight spread evenly on top of a very muscular build, and he can't ride any of them yet. Getting closer though!

I can't wait until he can ride the big stuff, because then he can retire as the bag-holder and I can retire as the go-on-terrifying-rides-with-my-son person. Oh it will be a good day. :) I'll still ride Mummy, though...LOVE that ride!

But even without being able to ride *everything* DH still loves it at Universal, and we have a great time there!
