Somewhere in my readings about IOA and Suess Landing I read about a ride that I don't think ever got up and running....it was something like.."Mr. ______ Crazy driving machines"....It seemed like a ride that was on tracks that went aroung the Suess Landing area and even bumbed into eachother. I didn't make this up did I?

TIA to all you experts out there!!

i have heard that the workers in suess landing have had to awnser that quesion a million times!

That is really too bad. When I read about it I thought it sounded so Suess like...and looked forward to riding it. But alas...it was just a tease.;)

Do you know why the ride never came about? and...what was the planned name?

Thanx,

Original name was:

Professor Monkey McBeans Very Unusual Driving Machines

There are a tons reasons why the ride was never opened (way too many to list).

And why the ride will never BE opened? Universal is very smart in their decision. Look at it this way, for the millions and millions of dollars it would take to rebuild and open the attraction - how many additional park guests do you really think the ride would bring in the park gates?

In relation, the same money could be invested in another brand new ride (no, I'm not dropping any hints about the new ride) and could make a big difference at the front gate.

I thought it was Sylvester McMonkey McBean's very Unusual Driving Machines.

thats what it would be if they could ever get the project passed laying the track out.

I was wondering why that track & entrance was there. I'm curious as to why they never opened it, I can't imagine that they didn't have a plan before they built all that track, then didn't go any further
What is one reason out of the many?

I'm sorry, you're right.

It was Sylvester McMonkey McBean's Very Unusual Driving Machines.

They have (had?) three cars with Seuss characters on the tracks at one time recently, but they were not there my past couple of visits. Makes the tracks look a little less goofy with those cars on them at least :)

There's actually two of the cars, or AP's as the are called. There still there and run whenever there not out for maintenance. As to the reason the ride was not completed, the very short version is that the manufacturer is a Britich company that really screwed up the desgin. Once the track was put up, major design problems were found that prevented the original car concepts from working. There is also a problem with how to evacuate the ride if needed.

That's the short version of the story. It really wasn't Unioversal's fault. The got hosed by the manufacturer.

I remember the ride name was shortened to the Sneetches.

Too bad the ride will never open. It sounded like fun to ride through Circus McGurkus.
