We are going to a party that DH's Aunt is having at the country club.BORING! Who has more exciting plans???

We'll probably go to the beach for part of the day which should be fun. There's a "neighborhood" block party on the street next to ours but whenever we've gone we've never felt really welcome. Unfortunately we have some snobby young girls around here that are less than friendly to our kids.
We'll probably listen to the music from our yard this year.

When I first read the riddle I started thinking of all the kilt comments we've made.....especially what's worn under one!

We're either going to the pool for a bbq or to a friend's for a party...or both!

We may be in for a spate of bad weather, though, so it all may be moot.


Desserts....lemon bars and brownies are a personal fave, Lorraine.

We used to always make home made ice cream on the 4th, but since my grandad passed away, we haven't done it much. We usually go to fireworks. We are going to the baseball game in the evening, and fireworks are over the Mississippi river in DT Minneapolis afterward.

I used to want a canopy bed when I was younger. Now I'm thinking they would be giant dust collectors, slowly sagging down with the weight of millions of dead little bugs and dust mites. Of course you could always get a cleaning lady and make her wash it once in a while.

Not that anyone cares but, we went to Taste of Chicago Tuesday with my parents and, on Wed nite (tonight) we're doing the fireworks-thing with partial family and, some friends at the Park Ridge display and, on Friday, we've been invited to my parents. Late nights and loooonnnggg days!!

I'm salaried, Diane - it's expected....

Boy, I understand that! So is DH, and his cell phone connects him with work at all hours of the day and night. He occationally has to go in in the middle of the night to fix a problem. When it is a phone line or something telecomunications at a security company, it can't wait! I hate it when we are on vacation and he has to leave a show etc. to answer someone's question.

Fred rolls his eyes at the salaried part. He hires workers at double time and a half on the weekends......

Kim Raye, we have Taste of Minnesota going on here right now too. They have wonderful fireworks set to music on the State Capitol grounds, but parking in St. Paul is such a pain, we rarely go to that one. Kind of nice to have two major cities to chose from though!
