The kitchen before this new house...when I was remodeling, I could not make a decision other than hardwood floors.......so I put my island on wheels.. and we moved it wherever we wanted.. of course it was just to eat on and to have cabinets under.. but it was great and worked for us..

Just one word of advice...this new house.. I did a white on white kitchen.. what was I thinking... and I got a Subzero refrigerator...I have had more problems with that refrigerator and would never recommend.. Just sharing a little info.. but of course I have no idea on the riddle..

Diane....I would love to put a dream kitchen together. Everything else I would leave to the pros. I just have so many ideas as to how I'd love it to look and function!

Sorry to hear about your cold Bernie. DS was feeling punk yesterday but this morning he's just fine.

Mahsha....DH went to PC. Funny you should mention former-Mayor Cianci. I was just thinking he's been in the "big house" for almost 3 months now and nobody has managed to sneak out a picture of him without his toupee! In his defense, he did wonderful things for the city of Providence.....but his methods didn't exactly follow the letter of the law!

THanks everybody for your kind guesses as to the year of my second picture. No winners yet!

Don't worry, I would never do a white on white kitchen in a log home!! We looked at the Subzero fridge, but opted for a Jennair counter depth built in since it is manufactured by Maytag, and I LOVE my Maytag fridge.

Kealakakua Bay is in a lovely spot between Kona and the southernmost point of the United States. It is just south of the coffee district and absolutely gorgeous! When we were there last year, they were worried about the proposed development by Japanese airlines. Turning this area into a heavy resort area would truely ruin it!
