Good morning all!!! A little sleepy still but all is good!

Gail, sounds like a very nice night for you :) I haven't seen that yet but it sounds interesting to me.

Lars, glad you had fun playing euchre! I think that game can be so much fun if played with the right people.

Carol, I do like City of Angels but it sure puts me in tears! Glad that your DD had a good time at the dance. Do you have any pictures of her to share?

Good morning!

Glad the dance went well for DD Carol. I'll have to check out City of Angels too....I also thought it was a chick flick.

One of our all-time favorite movies is Hunt for Red October. Matt watched that himself this morning and liked it too. Sean Connery is great in the role of the captain....but when I caught parts of it this morning all I could think of was the jokes about Bernie wearing a kilt!!!

Morning Gail! I must say anything with Sean Connery is a good movie in my eyes... love that accent ;)

Although now you have me laughing at the idea of Bernie in a kilt!!! Wonder if we could convince him to wear one at Riddle Con... for the pool party maybe :)

Morning Everyone,
Heading out to the Race party ..with my low-points dip and fat free chips.....no corona..just h2o today.

Have a great Sunday everyone!!!!!!

I was 'sorta' good at the Euchre party last night.............only glass of merlot then I switched to water & caffeine free diet coke. I did try a cheesy salsa dip though & I ate the first bite of chocolate I've had iin about 2 weeks......the chocolate was covering a raisin though....does that make it any better?? LOL!
Have a good time at the race party Steph!

Gail-I'm heading ovcer to check out that thread now............

I've been reading some of those stories Gail! Some of those are very amusing!

Steph, enjoy your party!! Sounds like you are being very "good" today :)

Lars, that doesn't sound too bad to me. And yep, in my eyes the raisin made that all the better :p

A quiet day on the DIS.

The kids are at choir practice so I am sitting at the computer writing a "letter to the editor" of our local, small town paper. The editor is the owner of the local private school so takes every chance to deride the public schools. Last week, there was a fight at the HS my kids attend. Now the paper is saying how unsafe the school is. I feel I need to write in support of the school and it's administration. My kids succeed in school and I don't think it is unsafe. Just call me a trouble maker.

DD's AP English 11 class got together on Friday and wrote their own letter to the editor in support of the school. I guess it is true about the apple not falling far from the tree.

Hey everyone....I'm back!!!!!

Third place for Jr...we'll take that.......

and I stayed well within my points.

Carol-I would never call you a trouble maker! I would call you a good, supportive parent!! Let that biased editor have it!!!:D

Steph-YAY!!! for Junior & or staying within your points:D

Hi E!-Thanks for the raisin validation......:p :p ;)

I also support the raisin theory!!!!! In fact, I have a whole paragraph of how chocolate is really a vegetable. I'll go look for it!

Carol! Good for you - people all too often tend NOT to make their voices heard....if you ask me THEY'RE the troublemakers!!! Sounds like you've been a good role model for your daughter as well! :D

Lars - sounds like you've been VERY good! and YES, a raisin underneath the chocolate does make it better....everything is relative right? FOR SURE!

I'm with Gail on the Sean Connery assessment!!! I enjoy almost anything he's in!!!

My meeting yesterday went pretty well...it's a long 3 1/2 hours and I get there about 1 hour earlier to set-up and then have about an hour afterward to "de-brief" (no thong reference here) with my area trainer....my staff would probably consider themselves "gifted" and thereby have the need to "challenge" all things.....not necessarily a BAD thing, jsut exhausting for the lucky person running the meeting!!!

Hope you all are doing well!

Also - Carol CONGRATS on the 2500!!!!!!When did you first start posting to have reached that mielstone?

I can't remember when I first started posting. I think I have done the bulk of it in the past 18 months.

Stephanie, Good work staying in your points range.

Things are starting to move here again.

Gail - is this the one you mean? I've got THIS one MEMORIZED!!!!

Chocolate is a Vegetable: Chocolate is derived from cocoa beans.
Bean = vegetable.

Sugar is derived from either sugar CANE or sugar BEETS. Both are plants, which places them in the vegetable category. Thus, chocolate is a vegetable.

To go one step further, chocolate candy bars also contain milk, which is dairy. So candy bars are a health food.

I LOVE IT!!!:p

Hi everyone .... hope you all had great weekends ....
I enjoyed catching up on all the news with my friend .... we did
quite a bit of shopping ... I picked up a few new tops for spring ... I always like to add a few new pieces to the wardrobe each year ...... went out for Mexican too and then to the movie Chicago ... what a great show that was ... really enjoyed it .....
Renee Zeilweiger (sp?) was really good and Richard Gere still isn't too hard on the eyes ........

Just add one more item to that Valerie.

Chocolate-covered raisins, cherries, orange slices and strawberries all count as fruit, so eat as many as you want.

And always remember:
"STRESSED" spelled backward is "DESSERTS"

I like the way that you think:D
Have you had those delicious Harry & David chocolate cherries, strawberries etc.?????

Hey Gail-
Tell Lew (your weather buff) that my DS is studying meteorology pretty hard right now. Trying to learn all that he can...FAST!!! He is competing in that category of Science Olympiad's Regional Competition on the 22nd. So, for awhile now I've got a weather buff here.:D If he does well he may get to MI's state competition at the end of April.

The deed is done. I e-mailed my letter to the editor. I will let you know if I get published.

My DS is learning weather terms in Spanish. Does that count?
