As far as a CT meet goes, I would like to but I don't know how DH feels about another trip as we are going to RiddleCon. We don't visit my brother on a regular basis. Maybe I could leave DH home, take DS to my brother's and bring SIL to the meet.

I am waiting for President Bush to stop talking so Suvivor can start. Probably just as well that ER isn't on tonight. It would be going until midnight.

I'm glad there's no ER tonight too.....I'm pooped and I didn't even shovel today. (DS was in the doghouse for some poor choices he made this week so this was his way to redeem himself and he did a great job with the driveway!!!)

I like your plan too Carol......you deserve a weekend away......my DH will even keep you appaised of the weather for your drive north!!!

I just got in and yes....my VCR is TOTALLY not going to show me Survivor based on the delay....so PLEASE....what happened????

anyone else who watched please fill in the blanks!!!

guys won reward and immunity......reward was to build a total of 4 fires.....to burn a string and release part of a banner.......they were given flint, stone, magnifying glasses.....and had access to wood, etc. women took an early lead.....men passed them to win....reward was a working fridge full of Coke

immunity was 1 hour to catch fish....tribe with most (by weight) wins immunity and the fish......they were again given basics...poles, bait, hooks, etc.

in the meantime, matt talked about trying to get closer to the other guys because he had mostly hung out with the 2 who have been voted out....

women were still basically divided by age......jeanne & joanna were getting up early to work......but clearly resenting the others who were not following their lead......much was made of deena being the leader at tribal council....but they didn't really show her actively in that role during the show

deena did align herself with the younger 3 thinking it would be to her benefit to be part of a group of 4 and that she'd have a better chance with them than with the "stronger" ones like jeanne & joanna.

shawna was the big focus....she wanted out and basically told everyone to vote for her if they lost immunity...she had a major meltdown/pity party for herself. deena struggled with that because she wanted to vote out joanna, she saw her as her biggest threat......she didn't want to "give in" to shawna and felt she committed herself and should be in for the long haul.

Ultimately joanna was voted out but shawna is not happy about that.....

Phew.....that was longer than I thought...guess I was paying attention!!!!

THe thing that was wearing on me was how much the younger ladies...especially Heidi.....continue to talk about how young/thin/pretty they are and that's how they'll get ahead and remain ahead. Last week several spoke of going topless as soon as they merge with the guys because that's how they'll stay in the game.

Maybe it bugs me because I'd be delegated to the "old group" if I were there....

Made me laugh when Heidi said that the "older" ones could do more work because they had more fat to live off of ..... what a dolt .... she really irritates me ...... the "little ones" comments remind me of a bad high school flashback...... I'd be right beside you in the "oldies" group Gail !

my question....what do you think that "old"/"young" age group divide is? I've seen some of the more "senior" people do QUITE WELL on shows past!

I somehow feel that we'd mostly fit into a "middle" group....
