I have looked at all the info available here and at wdwig.com, but thought I'd read a post that someone said if you take the rookie experience (8 laps) they offer you the option at the end to go another 8 laps for $100. Can't find anything officially, so does anyone know if this is true?

Thanks.

My husband took the rookie experience in November and they did not offer it then, they did however offer a 99.00 ride along experience discounted for the spectators.

Hubby did the 8 lap Rookie Experience last Sept. They were told they would be asked if they wanted to go around again, before they are helped out of the car.
I don't remember the dollar amount and I don't know if its something that is only offered on slow days.
He did this on Sept 11 last year and there were only 2 other guys driving and 1 who did a ride along. So, it might have been a function of that.
I can ask him if he remembers the details.

My Hubby did the Rookie experience in February - they only had 12 or 13 people driving that morning and announced at the beginning of the training session that you could do 8 additional laps for $199 (the Rookie experience was $349) Only a couple of students did the extra laps.

BTW - DH had a GREAT time and wants to do it again! :-)

Sounds like the offer is hit or miss but I think I'll surprise DH with the rookie pkg. as opposed to the next level and he can take his chances on getting extra laps!:D

Thanks for the replys!:D

I asked hubby and he said the same thing - $199.

They told them during the training and then asked as they got out of the cars.

I also suprised hubby. He loved it.
You might have heard this already, but I found a Petty Matchbox car and gave him just that. It didn't take him long to figure out what the whole gift was.

Take you camera if you go and watch.

We did this at another track (Homestead), and it was not offered there. Maybe its new or like someone else said, hit or miss. It might also be contingent on how many folks are in the class or when the next class starts. Sometimes with the Rookie experience, they do two classes a day.

My DH loved it, though! Also, it's cool to take the kids, because they let you right up by the cars, and even take the kids (they call them Tater Tots) around the track in a van so they can "feel" what it's like. The whole thing is very family oriented.
