reward $$ toward DCL?

Can you use your rewards on the DCL? Can you put that toward your shore excursions first then use your cc? I thought I read on the site DCL but wasn't sure exactly what DCL, shore excursions, or if there was a limit. Thanks!!!!

Rewards dollars can be used anywhere Visa is accepted, so yes, you can use them toward your shore excursions. You can reserve your excursions on line and they will be billed to your stateroom account. Go to the guest services desk and tell them you want to put X amount of dollers payment on that account using your reward card.

ok -- I thought the Disney rewards card that you get could only be used towards Disney stuff -- I didn't know you could use it anywhere a Visa was accepted??? Now, I'm really confused!!!

The actual rewards card is a card issued by the bank which is loaded with the points you have earned using your Disney Visa. It looks like a Visa card, and is used like a Visa card. It just has whatever amount that you have earned. FOr example, if you have earned 100 points, then the card is worth 100 dollars, one point = one dollar. I don't know how many dollars equal one point for earning, but I think its only one percent.

There is a sticky at the top of this forum with more info and at least one thread on this page about it, too.

The deal is that when you use a Disney VIsa to pay for a cruise or a WDW vacation , and probably DL, then you get X amount of months interest free for that amount. ANd you earn points that way too.

The rewards card can only be used at Disney locations. So, if you're using it on DCL toward your shore excursions, so long as payment is being made directly through DCL onboard, you're okay to use the card. If you're not paying Disney, you can't use the rewards card.

I have read that you can use the rewards card anywhere VIsa is accepted. Can you verify that via the Chase Web Site and copy and paste here?

I don't know if it's spelled out on the Chase site, but I can assure you that you can only use the Rewards Card (the card that you load your earned rewards dollars onto) at Disney locations that accept credit cards. Why on Earth would any other company accept Rewards that you earned with Disney? I suppose you could try to use your rewards at the Gap or your favorite supermarket, but they won't take them. Guaranteed.

Take a look at the program... it's Disney and only Disney. It gets you to shop at Disney locations. Just Disney.

You can use the Disney Rewards Visa card (which is what they're calling the Disney's Visa card now) at any location that accepts Visa, but you cannot use the Rewards Card (again, the card that you load your earned rewards onto) anywhere but Disney.

Here is what the Rewards Card looks like. It's different from the Disney Visa and does not have a Visa logo on it anywhere.

At the Chase website, it looks like you CAN use the Rewards to buy stuff other than at WDW, DL and DisneyStore.

But, you have to go through the Chase website to order 'checks' using your Rewards card balance. It says nothing about being able to use your card anywhere Visa is accepted.
