Revival of the angry thread!

It's 47 out right now and there are freeze warning tonight! The hottest forecast is 71 for the next 10 days but the forecast is never right -probably won't even get that warm. Yesterday there was a 0% POP and we had heavy rain overnight. :confused3

LOL! Funny you posted this today Al, as I was thinking about you last night when I was watching the weather. I saw where they said it was some 49 degrees, and their were frost warnings up your way. You were spoiled by your recent Florida visit. You just might have to make another one soon to warm up!

All I want to do, is go to work, do my job and come home. Sounds easy enough.

Well it seems Tuesday when I was off the Asst. Manager went to corporate about the Manager ( which she had every right to do, he is NOT doing his job ). So now we have politics and divisions for each manager. Well today the Asst. Manager told 2 of the girls refusing to work under her watch to go home, and the screaming and cursing started. So I went to restock the bathrooms, when I came out we had a customer :scared1: , so I calmly told them we had a customer, that now made ME the brunt of their anger. My shift was already up I was just helping out staying late, so I asked the Asst. if I could leave, she said yes, I was SO out of there.

Sounds like I'm in for a FUN weekend. :scared1:

We have been self-employed since 1983.

My questions are, do people "work" at your workplace? Is there backstabbing, politics and fights there? How do you deal with it?

Sorry you have to deal with this Denise.

Unfortunately, yes, at every place I have ever worked. Even being self-employed from 01-07 didn't help. Then the fighting and politics came from my clients (that's what I get for working for lawyers). I don't see as much in my current job, mainly because we are spread out all over the country and all work from home. That keeps the contacts down a bit, and help dampen the political games. On the other hand, when someone is palying games this means that you can't see it coming. Pros and cons.

Here's a hug to my favorite couple from Tennessee.

There is always a little bit of that - everyplace I have ever worked. i don't engage in it which is why I didn't progress any further than I have. It stinks.

Fortunately, Frank was working his "peaceful" self-employed job today. But he's in the "fryer" (pun intended) with me tomorrow.

Thanks Phyllis, I hope to come thru this stronger. I just need to stay out of their way, because threats of physical violence was mentioned between 2 of the "ladies".

To Al: It's a shame the good workers get the shaft.

I just saw that the largest US banks paid billions in bonuses - the average per employee at Goldman was $160,000! How many people here earn that in a salary every year - how about half that? These clowns don't get it.

Even though Goldman wasn't that unhealthy, if we hadn't bailed out the other banks and AIG - Goldman would have failed. What's wrong with these clowns?

I know the average is skewed because of the large bonus paid to a very few employees - but........ do they deserve that kind of compensation? Not in my opinion they don't

I have heard that Al got a HUGE bonus. He is buying the beer in October. What a guy!

THE TRAILER LEAKED AGAIN TODAY

They delivered it back to the house after testing it. Nancy had the service guy show her what work was done before letting him disconnect. They opened the trailer and found it soaking wet in the back from the drive over from the dealer.

Back it went for more work.

As mad as I am, I have to say that the dealer is being very responsive. If they don't have the leak fixed and returned to us by Monday afternoon, they are re-imbursing us for the lost reservation fees at the local state park, and they are picking it up, returning it. Also good at explaining that they have to try a series of fixes before they have to send it back to the manufacturer for them to redo the thing. Unfortunately, it sounds like they are way too familiar with this process (like Donny said), and it seems like this is too common.

Amazing! If I were the manager (asst or otherwise) I'd tell them to go home & not come back. There are too many people needing work for someone to have that kind of attitude - whether they like the manager or not.

My questions are, do people "work" at your workplace? Is there backstabbing, politics and fights there? How do you deal with it?

At Verizon, there was this kind of behavior all the time. I stayed away from it all as much as I could.

Working at THD, remarkably I see very little of this. We're more of a family & help each other out. There is talking behind backs, but most of it is good-hearted teasing or discussing ways to help people who are having problems. Another reason I love working at THD. We have a great staff of people.

Now, at church, even though I'm the only one, sadly members come in and try to gossip about each other. I either tactfully change the subject or in the case of some, tell them outright that I don't care to hear it. When I first started at the church, people would come to voice their grievances about others. I handed them a composition notebook and asked them to write it down so I could remember what was said and address the issue with the person being complained about. That tactic stopped people dead in their tracks!:rolleyes1 I learned this method from a wise Pastor from my youth & never forgot it. Thank you, Pastor Rehkopf.

Okay..correct me if I'm wrong..but didn't you have a leak in the old trailer...and that's why you wanted to replace it?....:confused3
So..now...you've got a leak in the new trailer that you haven't even used yet?....
That just stinks. :headache: I'm sorry to hear this. I certainly hope they manage to get it fixed for you..but frankly, I'd want my money back. Or at the very least a new camper.

That's what is going through our minds right now, knowing that there were other options in the same price range and a little better built. They just didn't have the floor plan that the kids and Nancy fell in love with.

From what I understand, they try one more time, if that does not work, it goes back to Keystone. Waiting and waiting. Beautiful weekend weather right now and I wish we were camping somewhere.

I can't believe it. My daughter totals her car in January, she spends 5 months riding the bus, she buys a new one in May, she makes ONE PAYMENT and wrecks the thing today!

OMG.... that ...that ..Oh man..I don't even know what to say. That just really stinks. Sorry Jim.

Wow! I'm sorry to hear that & hope it wasn't her fault & that she wasn't hurt. You can replace the car....not so easily the daughter.

Sorry to hear that Jim, hope she is OK and that everything works out. Having a newly licensed driver in our house is unsettling to put it mildly.

She has a second degree burn on her hand from the chemicals in the air bag deployment system and some abrasions. Fortunately, she wasn't going very fast but she did rear end of all things a BMW and the police were having some issue with the driver and mentioned "illegal" a couple times in reference to him, but he threw them off by starting to complain about his neck and being removed in an ambulance. Looks like he had minor damage, but Chris has front end damage, every airbag in the car deployed and the air bag on the passenger side up front shattered the windshield. Her loser boyfriend kept whining about ringing in his ears at the emergency room - I told him when he gets his insurance card at home (why don't people carry these things with them?????) he can get his butt to the emergency room and have it checked out. He'll probably sue Chris. I'm sure the other driver will. Thank God she is not on our insurance. It was definitely her fault, and with 2 accidents in 7 months, I am sure the consequences with her insurance will be severe. I really think, for the safety of others, she falls into that category of people who should not drive. I am going to strongly suggest she take a driving class as a refresher before she gets behind the wheel again. Carol and I have about had it right now. I am going to front her the money to cover her deductible since, of course, she doesn't have enough money, but I am making her sign a promissory note and setting up a repayment schedule. I can't stand other people's mistakes costing me money.
