Revival of the angry thread!

Sorry to hear about your job Jen. I hope you can find something even better!

I don't know Jen :sad2: ...that really does stink. Can't believe it.

I'm sure something better is coming your way. You deserve it.:wizard:

Just need to vent.... My DH has been in a very particularly nasty emotional state for about 3 months now. No matter what I say, he comes back with sharp, cutting remarks. I try my best to ignore them, but sometimes it just overwhelms me & I get nasty right back at him. Then the shouting match begins. I know the economy, our IRA dumping, and other things are eating at him, and therefore, I become the brunt of his frustration. So....
GUYS of the board, give me some insite as to the workings of the male brain. If you get in this state of mind, how do you wish your wife would react to you?

It was so bad yesterday that, we were almost to the entrance to FtW to ride bikes, and we turned around and went home. I told him that I couldn't take another day of his bad mood - so we went home. He took off for about 7-8 hours which he's never done in all 35 years we've been married. So I need suggestions from the men on the board.

TIA

I'm sorry :flower3:, I don't know how I missed this. Been a little preoccupied lately as you know.
Anyway...just want you to know that I'm thinking of you guys. There's a lot of this going around..you aren't alone. I think a lot of men are pretty anxious these days. Rightfully so. You think you've done everything right..only to have the rug pulled out from under you through no fault of your own. It's overwhelming at times.

Thanks guys. I am a little better now. I applied for a job at the county I used to be in (and loved to pieces) for a district technology integration specialist this morning. I am going to go heavy into the business too for a while. It is kinda good that Chris didn't get a job with the county because they cut half of those positions and made them 10 1/2 month positions instead of full year positions. Most of the cuts were in "administrative and technological services", which I am a part of. I will be applying for everything in sight, but with them closing two schools here and getting rid of all the reading and math coaches too, it is going to be really tight even finding a teaching position in a classroom, much less something like I am doing right now. I know I will get another job, the thing that worries me is the time factor. But for now, I have my contract until the end of the year and all I can do is get the suits out of the closet and get ready to run my mouth when someone calls! (one of my strong points being a teacher and all...:lmao: ) I know this is for a reason, but by golly, I need to see lights at the end of the tunnel that aren't at the front of a train for a change!;)

Jen,

Sorry to hear that at this time and I wish you the est of luck.

Remember, President Obama:worship: will help. To feel his AWESOMENESS, just watch the video below. He will Bless you and lift your Spirits. He will Heal You and the Planet. He has answered our calling and will pay for our Mortgages, Gas, Health Care and He will Replenish our Retirement Accounts. He will make our planes and our streets safer by banning guns. I know this how? Because he said so and he IS THE ONE!:worship:

Deb ~ I'm sorry ~ I missed this, too.

Thinking of you and sending lots of  your way!

Update to DH...

The day he took off for about 7 hours, he went to visit his mom. She lives about 1.5 hours away. She called me the next day and told me that all he did was complain about me! THEN she told me that she gave him a royal chewing out because she could tell he was being a jerk and that he should appreciate all that I'm doing to keep things going. She told him it would be very nice if instead of complaining and "byatching", accusing and assigning blame, if HE would be thankful for who he has and to quit feeling sorry for himself.

My DMiL has never interfered with our lives in the 35+ years we've been together, and she & I have always gotten along great. She was a tremendous support to me when my mother was dying - cooked a bunch of meals for us & actually brought them to our home & stuck them in the freezer with a note on the table for me. That was when we lived closer to her - and yes - she had a key & carte blanche to use it. It was a wonderful surprise.

While Rick hasn't apologized for what he did & said,(and most likely won't) and how he's been acting...he has lightened up this past week. I think a good chewing out by the momma helped put things in perspective for him.

Ever since we moved to where we now live, I've been begging his mom to sell her house & move in with us. We have enough space we could add a "mother-in-law" suite for her. She would really enjoy living in our neighborhood - with all the activities and pool and clubhouses. She'd even have a golf cart at her disposal! Who could ask for more?
I keep telling her that my DH could go live in her house & take care of her husband, and she could come live with me and we'd have FUN! Tempting....but she's not biting......yet!!!

ETA.... Thank you to everyone!!!

Remember how Obama said that he was gonna take your guns? Well it seems that his allies in the anti-gun world have no problem taking your ammo! The bill 20, that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illioins, and Indiana) requires all ammunitation to be encoded by the manufacture a data base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers. Nobody can sell ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded. And privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011.(including hand gun loaded ammo). They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 per box.

If they deprive you of your ammo, THEN they need not take your gun !

This legislation is currently pending in 18 states : Alabama,,Arizona,,Califirnia,,Connecticut,,Hawaii,,Illinois,,Indiana,,Kentucky,,Maryland,,Mississippi,,Missouri,,New Jersey,,New York,,Pennsylvania,,Rhode Island,,S.Carolina,,Tennessee and Washington.

What about those who load their own ammo? My DH did this when he went hunting, or when he & I would go to the shooting range.

I think the problem will be with getting primers and casings. They'll figure out a way to control that too. Black powder is already getting harder to buy.

Like I am going to just throw away that kind of money by destroying my existing ammo. They can keep dreamin'.

It's going to be one of those unenforcable laws. It will be one more additional charge they can put on a criminal if he is caught robbing a 711. Otherwise, they would have to do a house to house search to track down rogue ammo. Seems to me Adolph did things like that with a little group he liked to call the SS.

These are all at the state level anyhow - you have more of a chaance at stopping them there. This has nothing to do with Obama.

Come on, Al. It's got everything to do with Obama. The present administration is providing the momentum for it all. Actually, it's highly doubtful it will ever become law. So many of these laws get everybody worked up but never come about. But it's fun discussion, anyway. In the case of PA, most of the laws passed have no clout since the state can't afford to enforce anything.

Wonderful. The day we reserve to let DD celebrate her 9th birthday is the day that a doctor decides to stab me in the back, and my company jumps in the fray without even checking to see what happened. This day sucked.

Happy Birthday Sweetheart, we're gonna kick your Daddy in the b@@@@!

You guys have a very high opinion of the power he wields! He's got enough problems with his own party in DC to focus on this kind of stuff. Besides, he's got the Special Olympics people after his tail now. If he knows what's good for him, he'll get a portable teleprompter and keep it with him at all times!

This might put the debt the US is acquiring in perspective. Debt as a % of GDP is a really good relative measure. While this is not good, the slope will level out since there was a huge recent expenditure which will not be repeated.
