Our group ranged from 4 to 7 depending on the day and the meal. Core group was myself, my sister and her kids, twins 6.5 years old. Then we added our parents, (celbrating their 50th anniversary) and my sister's husband as the trip progressed.
First day dinner (Wed., 8/11) was at Crystal Palace. We had PS for 5:30pm for me, sis and kids but asked to eat earlier as we had skipped lunch because of trip down. We were accommodated and the server was friendly and kept the glasses filled. The fod and characters were another story. Reminded me of our first dinner, three years ago. The food was not to our taste, it seemed to be much better last year both in selection and taste. The characters, actually Tigger and Eeyore were very unfriendly and rude. Eeyore THREW the pen at my nephew and Tigger tossed the autograph book at my niece and could not be bothered to take more than one picture. This actually set the tone for the entire trip where we encountered more rude, sarcastic, unfriendly, unhelpful CMs than in three previous trips in the last three years.
Second Day (Thurs., 8/12) Breakfast - Again it was just me, sis and the kids. We has PS at the PSB and it was very good. We were about 20 min late as we were dealing with trying to change airline flights for my parents (so they would not be flying in the hurricane) and then getting caught up in the park opening, the staff was very nice about it and we were seated right away. First there were cinnamon rolls on the table then came the fruit and then the scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and cheesy potatoes. Overall the food was better than last year. The princesses were Aurora, Jasmine, Mulan, Snow White and one more that I cannot remember. All were very nice and took there time. One even complimented my sister for putting sunscreen on her kids. We thought that was really nice.
Dinner - 1900 Park Faire Only disappointment here was that the CMs kept on telling us the Fairy Godmother was out to tea instead of saying she was not there. Prince Charming and Cinderella were okay, and the mice were wonderful, Suzy and Perla. The food was quite good. I love the strawberry soup. We were a bit disappointed by the Cinderella's slipper and dog bones. First they only had the dog bones on the PS and we had to tell them that a slipper had been ordered also. They looked nice and the dog bones were really good but the cream in the slipper seemed to be spoiled. It also was not worth $14.00 as they came on a regular plates. For two tiny pasteries, it seemed high even at WDW. The kids were really happy to see them though so I can't complain too much.
Third Day (Friday, 8/13) Breakfast at Restaurantosourus was cancelled as the AK was closed and the POFQ desk was less than helpful in trying to get us another character breakfast so we picked up my parents (who had arrived late Thurs. night) and went to the Kona Cafe where we were seated right away. Food was very good but the server was not friendly and seemed like we were bothering him. He never came and checked how we were doing.
Dinner - Was supposed to be at Chef Mickey's to celebrate my parent's ann. but we were told not to go, that all PS for the night had been cancelled and we could eat somewhere at the Poly. We were at the concierge bdlg so they put out polynesian rice (sort of like fried rice), ribs and chicken wings and they were good. We got the kids chicken fingers, burgers and fries from Captain Cooks and they were also good. We had an assortment of desserts in the lounge but at 8:30pm were told to go back and stay in our rooms until the storm was over. We were given flashlights and told to stay away from the windows and the safest place was the bathroom. Not the most fun night I have spent at WDW.
Fourth Day (Sat., 8/14) Breakfast at the Poly concierge lounge. Lunch was chicken nuggets and fries for the kids from the McDonald's stand and nachos from the Mexican cantina for the adults at EPCOT. It started to pour just as the adults started to eat so we packed up and ate in the lobby of the Mexican Pavilion, standing up.
Dinner - At Chef Mickey's, even though we had a PS for Friday, they were able to seat us on Sat. All of the Characters were especially friendly and came around more than once. Even Donald in the lobby. They had on different outfits than last year and looked cute. The only problem was that we had to remind the CM when we got the bill about my parent's ann. so we had to wait for them to prepare everything. But it was worth it. Mickey and Minnie brought my parents a card signed by all the characters with a picture of the characters in it, a placemat and a decorated cupcake with two candles. Then Mickey and Minnie took a picture with my parents it was very nice.
After dinner we had an Illuminations Cruise with decorations and a decorated cake. Again it was really nice but we were charged $100.00 for the party package instead of just the decorations ($25.00) and cake ($35.00) that I had ordered a la carte.
If anybody has any questions, I will gladly answer them.
