Review of Disney Cruise with toddler

Great review! We will be sailing for my daughters 3rd birthday and its great to hear from others that have done it with toddlers. I can't wait for all of the fun activities. My daughter will also love the hot dog dance!

Thanks for sharing! We just took our son (same exact age as your daughter) on our family's first cruise on the Disney Wonder and agree that it's totally worth it! What a fantastic trip full of magic for everyone. Loved seeing his eyes light up throughout the cruise. Already can't wait for the next one.

Were you able to take you daughter to any of the scheduled activities in the kids club? I know that you can play in the area during the open house, but I have wondered whether toddlers & parents can join in for the other activities (like story time & parachute games)?

During open house hours you and your kids can join in whatever activities the clubs have going on at that time.

we were on the Magic from Galveston last week and had similar itinerary. I traveled with my husband, daughter and 2 year old grandson

Grand Cayman - loved the turtle farm. Bought my tickets on line with a significant discount and bus ride to and from. Spent three hours there. My grandson loved holding the turtles. The biggest plus was he was allowed to swim in the lagoon and go down the water slide (not big enough on the Magic) wore both of us out going up the stairs. We spent about 2.5 hours in the pool - on the Magic he could only go in the splash zone, which he loved, but this was a great treat for him. The price in the restaurant there was a bit pricey but there was a lunch buffet that had BBQ chicken, cole slaw and more for $12.95. I consider that pretty reasonable. Alcoholic drinks were about 13.00 (think umbrella drinks), lemonade was $2.95 with a refill. My chicken wrap sandwich was $14.95 a bit pricey but fed two of us and we had fries left over.

Costa Maya - we stayed on the ship except for a quick visit to the port stores. My husband went into town and said there wasn't much there. It was pretty stormy that day and the coast was rough. Diamonds International and the Tequilla store were closed for Yom Kippur. The other vendors were pushy but no more so then any other Mexican port I have been to.

Cozumel - Husband went to the ruins, daughter, grandson and I walked through town. Again get used to saying no - that is the culture - but picked up a couple of things and had a beer at Carlos and Charlies..back to the ship for lunch and a snooze.

Didn't get to go to Castaway Cay - but sailing out of Galveston it wasn't an option this year - Next year we are booked though!

This is such a great review, thank you for posting!! My DD is the same age as yours so this was very helpful. We'll be on the Dream in 3 weeks and I was wondering about the "Wake up with Disney Junior” activity you were talking about... Where does this take place? I haven't heard of that before. If there is a hot dog dance, we cannot miss it, my kids would LOVE it! :)
