Hi Y'all!
I have been reading this board for a while, but have not said anything yet because you guys are so helpful, that I haven't had any questions...until now that is! We are getting married Nov 28 at Leu Gardens, just the two of us. We are staying at one of the WDW resorts, having Disney cosmotology do my hair, face, and nails, and enjoying our honeymoon there. I have Randy Chapman as photographer, and just talked with Stan today about being videographer. I'm getting really excited, but have one reservation about my plans now. I booked Rev Tim Herring after talking with Rev Knox and Rev Day. Rev Knox was not available for my date, and I seemed to bond more with Rev Tim than Rev day. However, since booking Rev Tim, I have received some emails from him that make me wonder if maybe he just wasn't the right choice for us. I really liked his style and the way he put me at ease at first on the phone, but then he seemed to get defensive about the service afterwards. I had asked him about adding the hands ceremony, and about the vows, and the wording for the ceremony. (I had a few lines of scripture and such that I wanted included.) He said that he never showed his ceremonies to brides, and for those that insisted on seeing the ceremony he just used a standard one instead of writing a special one. This statement is really what bothered me. Instead of asking what I had in mind he just immediately got defensive. Am I being to sensitive? He never did get back to me about whether or not I could choose or write my own vows. He just says that he wishes that I would leave the service up to him. Am I over stepping my bounds here? Should I just trust him, and hope he does a great job? Has anyone here had him as an officiant that can put my mind at ease? Sorry this is long, but I'm worried about it, and I don't want to offend him further if I am being to over bearing about the service. Thanks for listening!
