I bought my son a shirt at Kohl's the other day. I (stupidly) took the tags off and ironed it. He put it on and it looks terrible on him. If I bring the tag can it be returned, or no since it's not attached?

Thanks.

Kohls has one of the best return policies. There should be no problem. If you don't have the receipt but used a credit card, they can look it up for you. If you don't have the receipt and didn't use a credit card, they will give you a store credit.

I've returned stuff there with no tag and no receipt and had no problem. If you bring them the tag, you should definitely be able to return it. Kohl's has a great return policy.

I just feel bad about it. There is nothing wrong with the shirt and it fits fine.. just when he put it on it's not "him". I wanted him to wear it for Christmas but we all hate it. Oh well..

yesw you can return with tag or without. just makes life easier for everybody if you have tag.

So weird. The Kohls up north (IL) where I used to live was a nightmare to return items to. I really hated that store and avoided it as much as possible. I was always put through the ringer whenever I had to return gifts there, since my ex SIL always insisted on shopping there for occasions. Funny how people have such different experiences.

If you decide to shop there again & have the same problem, then you should report that store to the corporate headquarters, because, as you've read here, that is NOT Kohls corporate policy. And yes, calling or writing corporate headquarters does make a difference. I, and I know several other people who have complained about various companies like Walmart, Walgreens, Rite Aid, and have gotten positive changes made at the store we shop at.

Returning items are now easy, is their whole advertising.

Perhaps if you don't have an account, or credit card they can look up (because it's a gift) it's harder. If you have no proof of purchase (cc/their account/receipt) they do only give you the lowest sale price.

My daughter just returned something I bought on my card for her, and I gave her my card number, and they gave her the cash.

Kohl's was great for me.

I had mistakenly spent way too much on pants for DD just so we could be done shopping. None of them fit her waist a month later when she went to wear them.

Three of them had to be specially hemmed so I knew I couldn't return those 3.

But the 2 that did not, I was able to return them both. I had cut the tags off and washed them. I did have my receipt and had used my Kohl's charge to buy them.

I was so glad they took them back. At least I was able to get some of my money back.

And I've learned my lesson to always double check fit on DD. She didn't want me to and said they fit fine but they really didn't.

It won't hurt to try and see if they'll take it back.

Kohls drives me nuts with all their sales, cash, etc...I can never quite figure out what I'm paying. Then they give me more money to go buy more! ;)

I learned here that I won't lose my Kohls cash if I need to return something, I can get a merchandise credit. I learned here that Kohls cash is still good for quite some time after it says it expires. All good things!

That said, we were in Lancaster this weekend and ended up in Kohls. DD had $20 of Kohls cash but the expiration was last month. The girl wouldn't take it because it was expired so I just told DD to hold on to it and she could use it at home. The cashier kind of smirked and said "well I don't think so!" We called when we got home to our local one and they said the Kohls cash was good for about eight months after it expires, so I guess some of them are different.

Customer Service Desk has a sign that indicates that they will honor expired Kohl's Cash. I don't understand why it would vary from store to store.

I bought my teenage DS an awesome sweater to wear for Christmas at Kohl's last week. He hates it...want to trade? What is it with these boys...I thought they were less picky than girls about clothes!
