Return to the Scene of the Crime: The Lurkyloos’ First Anniversary at WDW! New VIDEO!

Shopping for candy in Japan was a lot of fun.

Candy!

More candy!

Not candy, but it looks like candy!

I also spotted a really cool, colorful mobile that I loved, but I couldn’t justify spending $40 on it...

This guy, however, was TOTALLY worth $20! I held an informal, prizeless naming contest on the blog but couldn’t pick just one name, so it changes daily.

...a.k.a. “Steve”

CandyQuest hit a snag in Morocco, where a CM told us Moroccans don’t really eat candy so the Pavilion doesn’t sell it (???). So instead, we got our neighbors a jar of Moroccan honey.

We had pool-hopping privileges for Luna Park at the BoardWalk Inn, so we put the rest of our candy shopping on hold and left Epcot.

I want to get this posted, so I’ll tell the story of our last evening tomorrow!

oh!! Can we start a contest???

I call it!! That bump wasn't a Mickey Waffle!

sorry..the unkeeping of secrets is pathological with ME!!!

Oh lordy - I didn't consider what direction the term "surprise" could go! :rotfl:

Let's put it this way: The only shape any bump in my tummy EVER will be is Mickey-shaped. :thumbsup2

THose poor gloves!!
And you had to post my two most amazingly obsessions... penguins and bunnies ddn't you?? Oh lordy Loo lol

LOVE Japan, their rice candies are the bst and of course the Yan Yans (I grew up eating these, dont know why) lol

And mr elephant I adore. I shall name him bubble... Did they have any others like that? I have a rather fat penguin that may like to be his friend here at work!

Looks like yuo had yet another amazing time! I always look froward to your posts!! YUM school bread...but what is it exactly?

:rotfl::rotfl2: Agreed, either that or another trip to WDW which means more Trippies!! :thumbsup2 What else could be more exciting than either of those two things?

Oooh - Bubble is a great name, too! There were 2 others like him, and then some smaller ones. For me, though, the bigger the stuffed animal, the better.

School bread is like a giant donut filled with cream and topped with icing and coconut flakes. They have something of a cult following on the DIS!

What else could be more exciting than either of those two things?

:rotfl2:

Oh you don't even want to know about the unglamorous movie filming life.

:thumbsup2 Yeah, I guess I probably got off easy compared to the kind of work your DH does!

I used to do it too! Just in a different area. Now my life is all about changing diapers....hmmm its kind of a toss up on which I prefer.

Hmmm Can I take a guess? You've decided to renew your vows in disney?

Im hoping more towards the mini lurky-mickey shaped of course.... but this is fun to guess!

I got so far behind, but i was with you all in pooping spirit! :rotfl:

Oh Candy around the World! Now that's the kind of basket i would like!

And :thumbsup2 for a good lunch at Plaza Restaurant! Good to know it's an option!

Boo for Flying Fish not properly "sharing" your meal! but that does raise an interesting point....do most restaurants at WDW divide it in the kitchen for you, and is there a charge for sharing a meal?? Not that i think DH and I could share a meal, our tastes are wayyyy different! :rotfl:

Candy around the world, I love it! I considered myself somewhat of a "candy rebel" today when I bought a bag of "Crazy Combo" skittles for the plane ride to WDW... but somehow yours seem much more adventurous.:rolleyes1

Oh and I guess I cannot go to "the real Morocco" without bringing am ample supply of gum and candy... good to know.:thumbsup2

Steve works for me BTW, I think it works for him! Good name!

Vinnie and I did the candy around the world thing last year but we didn't take any pictures. In morocco though, we got a dessert...does that count lolol.... it was some pistaccio thing... and then we ended up getting abunch of the japanese candy along with their sweet potato pie cake!! YUMO.... My all time favorites are of course....crunchies though! England!

So what candy do you reccomend???

Love - love - love your report. We are leaving tomorrow for 10 days in Disney so I will have to finish your report when I get back. I am going to go into dis withdrawal - no internet service at DH's fathers house (well it is dial up and I takes FOREVER so I usually just do not go on).

Can't wait to learn what the surprise is.

Unless they reverse their policy prohibiting outside photographers at in-park events, it's never gonna happen at WDW.... :sad1:

Most of the restaurants we ate at did divide the meal up for us in the kitchen - it was just a few that didn't, so that was cool. And none of the restaurants at WDW seem to charge a split-plate fee, which is very cool! :thumbsup2

Oh I love Steve. He's cute :)

Me too! :cloud9: (I mean, I love Steve too, not that I am cute too! :rotfl:)

I dunno... Crazy Combo sounds pretty dang crazy - the real question is, do you eat them individually or a bunch together? :lmao:

Definitely Crunchies! I ODed on Crunchies during my 7 months living in London, though. But every once in a while, I gotta have one!

Loved this update, Carrie! Can't wait to hear about your surprise :rolleyes1

:hyper:

Oh I hear ya - before I got my iPhone, I had major DIS withdrawal at WDW, which seemed so silly to me because I was actually at WDW, so why was I itching to be online talking about being at WDW? :rotfl2: I think there is no explanation for it - we just have the DISease....

DDNut....
Why is it that everything you say is so often absolutely true..... :cutie:
