Return to the Scene of the Crime: The Lurkyloos’ First Anniversary at WDW! New VIDEO!

Glad everything turned out ok with your new room. ;) We haven't stayed at the Beach Club yet, but will sometime soon & I had no idea they had a secret path to Epcot. You should stay at the Boardwalk sometime & get the preferred view...it's heaven. You can see Wishes over the Y & B Club & Illuminations over the ESPN club.

Wonderful Epicot pictures. I especially loved the stained glass window in Morocco. I would love to have seen you up there dancing with the belly dancer.:thumbsup2

Great TR! Do you have a link to your new book? I would love to see it. If it is anything like your wedding, it will be a best seller as your wedding was amazing.

I agree! I always find something new in the World Showcase every time we are there. (Speaking of which- where exactly is the museum in Morocco?)

Great update! I am not sure if it is just because I am hungry at the moment but I could jump through the computer and eat your lunch! The lunch in the pictures that is, I was not threatening to come steal whatever you may be eating at the computer. Great pics!

Ah, Beach Club DVC....:cloud9: Your Morocco pictures are also quite lovely. So many little details I've never noticed. Like that funky teapot!
I really like eating at Marrakesh - they have this minty iced tea that's fabulous. They also have a dessert that is crepes with honey and apples. Divine!
When I was on the college program I was eating there with three friends and the bellydancer tried to get us to join her. I was the only one who got up and danced. There's nothing like bellydancing in a pair of way-short jean shorts and a collared polyester thrift store shirt from the 70's.
I'm surprised Patrick didn't grab one of those wacky marionette puppets on the stand behind him in China. Then again, who wants to work on vacation?

I can't believe I just discovered your TR! You guys sound like so much fun! I had no idea there was a museum in the Morocco pavillion!

the pictures of Morrocco are beautiful! Still not quite sold on Restaurant Marrakesh yet.....maybe just dessert to watch the belly dancer! :thumbsup2

Carrie,

Why do you love BCV so much? I ask because we've only stayed at BWI and BWV, and I am crazy about BWI, but everytime we've gotten a preferred view at BWV it's of the quite pool or has a view of the Swan/Dolphin and I think the rooms need to be redone. It's never impressed me.

We're looking to buy DVC sometime soon (maybe after we're done paying for the wedding), and I love the Boardwalk, but I am wondering if maybe buying BCV would be a better choice. I guess we'll just have to try it out first.

Oh, and could you please spend less time working and more time on your trip report? I'm bored right now and your trip is so much fun to read about!

Okay I totally agree with you on that one, and I am only just discovering how much there is to see and how much I clearly missed the last time we were there in Nov. Clearly too busy with the FWF! We didn't even get into many of the Epcot pavillions, we were too busy chow hounding. :rolleyes1 I can't wait to take my time.

Totally! Epcot is the park that makes me wish I were a local so I could really get to know the place!

OMG O-town..do you remember that band?? I still love ashley parker angel.. hes soooo hawtttty. nice pics as usual lady!

:rotfl: I do vaguely remember them, but I'll bet they weren't even actually from Orlando!

lol..I don't recall seeing that one used...ever!
You got my vote. :)

Whohoo! :hyper:

Oh my gosh, that sounds fabulous! Do you ever rent your DVC points? :cutie:

AW.... thanks! :cloud9: You can check it out HERE.

It is directly across the courtyard from Tangierine Cafe. It was under renovation for months and months, which is why we always missed it.

:rotfl2: Good thing, too - I don't recommend Lean Cuisine's meatloaf!

Right on!!! :thumbsup2 Do you have a video? :lmao:

Hiya! You've been pretty busy posting your own trip report, Ms. Newlywed! :lovestruc

Totally worth it! :) Also, if you like Greek food, I think you'll be OK with the main courses there.

:lmao: Well, if you insist....

I like BCV because it's small, closer to Epcot than any other resort, and has light/bright room decor. But I'd love to stay at BWI/BWV some time (not crazy about BWI room decor though) just for the liveliness of the BoardWalk and all. And I love that resort's public spaces. Although I hear it feels really big and you walk and walk to get to your room. Also, the parking seems a lot farther away than at BCV. :confused3 But I definitely want to try it!

The rest of Day 4 turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. When they came out to Disneyland for their honeymoon, our wedding photographers-turned-pals the Roots spent a day with us in Los Angeles, which Jensey chronicled here. (Yes, I made Patrick’s Kermit apron, no our house is never that messy – the Roots must’ve added that stuff in Photoshop).

We dragged them all over LA on a whirlwind tour that included such sights as the ocean, the front gate of the (closed that day) Getty Center, the original Farmer’s Market/The Grove, the La Brea Tar Pits, DH’s sweet private tour of the Jim Henson Company lot, Hollywood and the Walk of Fame, the Griffith Observatory, Crossroads of the World, Amoeba Records (OK, some of these were drive-bys – we only had 7 hours!), the Arclight Theater, Hollywood & Highland/Kodak Theater, Grauman’s Chinese Theater, Disney’s El Capitan Theater, and the Disney Soda Fountain & Studio Store. As you can imagine, after they recovered they swore never to spend 7 hours with us ever again.

Fortunately for us, we know where they live! And we seem to be in town a lot! So on Saturday afternoon we hopped in the car, rolled up all the windows and locked all the doors (which, as you can guess, took about 35 minutes), and timidly ventured forth into The Real Orlando. Well, OK, first we went to Celebration.

And the very first thing we did when we saw Nathan & Jensey was shove past them and accost their cute lil’ doggie, Huck!

OK, I have to confess, I love all animals (even bugs!), but I am definitely more of a cat person than a dog person. And I am more of a big dog person than a small dog person. I think dogs are a lot of fun for about five minutes, and then I just want them to go be slobbery somewhere else.

But Huck is different! [Cue “Romeo & Juliet” theme, shot of Lurkyloo and Huck running toward each other in the field Nathan & Jensey like to use for engagement shoots]

He is so friggin’ CUTE! For one thing, he’s fat and wiggly like a fuzzy little pig. And for another, he’s really clean and totally not stinky. And also he makes you feel like you are possibly THE most exciting person he has ever met or ever will meet.

This picture is blurry because Huck is set to “vibrate”

Let’s see that again, only this time good!

Huck’s Best Side

011.jpg

After introductions had been made, we got to go on a tour of Nathan & Jensey’s place and see some weddings they were working on (gorrrrgeous!) and then sit down in the living room and have a conversation. We never get to do that on vacation! DH also got to play some hip new videogame that all the kids are playing and that I don’t know what it’s called because I was under the couch trying to get Huck to play with me again....

And then we met Jensey’s freaky puppet half-brother, whose personality – even his name! – had been undiscovered all these years... until DH came along.

012.jpg

Turns out he’s kinda like a cross between Gollum and Chucky! There’s the frenzied, guttural cackling; a murderous streak directed mainly at Nathan; some hissing and cowering when threatened; and a single-minded devotion to attempting to ride the dog...

Eventually we were able to subdue him and return him to his cell. Oh yeah - and although Nathan says DH was able to find out more about the puppet in 10 minutes than Jensey was in 12 years, we still didn't figure out his name! I'm voting for something creepy sounding like "Damien" or "Azriel, Overlord of the Underworld" ... Either that or "Steve"!

And then it was time for our Orlando tour!

I’ll have to stop there or you’ll never get an update today...

I have to say Huck looks adorable. He looks like one of those dogs that will snuggle up to you and keep you warm.

Great update. I LOVE all animals too...even bugs :)
I love L.A., visit every July and I love the Farmer's Market/The Grove.

Oh how I would love to find out if this is true! :lovestruc

Hey, that's cool! It's nice to hear somebody else loves LA - we take so much crap!

Oh my lord. Small dogs and puppets. Two of my favorite things. Next time you should get some video of Huck and his puppet pal so we can see them in action!
I think the last picture looks like an album cover.

Also I love the picture that's hanging in the background of your pictures :magnify:

What a great visit!! Huck looks like a lovey little furball. I love doggy affection! I mean that in the least weird way!! :lmao:

I contacted the Roots about the AK pics you posted, but I haven't heard anything back. :confused3

Thanks for your thoughts, we'll definitely have to try BCV. The pool alone looks worth it. Yes, you can have a very long walk at BWI/BWV, let me just say that the walk to the Attic seemed short compared to the walk to one room we had!

Lurkyloo where is the info on the private Illuminations Party??? Am I too early???

:rotfl: "Lets call it Steve!"

"Oh great and powerful Steve! ... What do ya want??"

OK, it looks kinda crummy, but you could actually see the top of the American Adventure, and we later learned you could see some of IllumiNations!

Sounds like a good view to me, although I am kind of partial to that location ;)

I think I recognized the shot of DH when he was at the Roots house holding Huck :goodvibes
