Return to the Scene of the Crime: The Lurkyloos’ First Anniversary at WDW! New VIDEO!

I need to back track to to the previous post you made for a second...please tell me that those black and green things sitting in those seats in the picture below are NOT real people.

What the heck are they? :confused3

People in ponchos! :thumbsup2

Good one! I thought they looked like the aliens from "Signs"!! :rotfl:

You're right, they did, especially the green one. Good movie by the way.:thumbsup2 I thought of aliens, too when I saw them.

We love how the river starts in the lobby, then appears to turn into a waterfall outside...

...and then appears to turn into a river that goes straight into the pool!

That is so stinkin' cool!!

But the best part of the swim was seeing these guys:
IMG_9752.jpg

Apparently the pool is like Ducky Day Care, where mom and dad ducks dump their kids so they can get a break. While these three cuties paddled around the quiet section of the pool, the grown-up ducks were on the patio, hovering over piles of doots on one leg as they napped.

DH was fascinated by them, and we slowly swam up as close as we dared to see if we could get some pictures.

DH even got them to “walk” on his hand by sticking it just under the surface of the water as they swam by. They were so cute – and so close! When they started to feel threatened by kids in the pool they’d go “PEEP! PEEP! PEEEEEP!” and eventually a mom came over to watch them.

OMGoodness this pics are hysterical!! "Ducky Day Care" had me honest-to-goodness ROFL! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Another great update! I'm going to have to try Cali Grill sometime. The view looks amazing for Wishes!

You're right, they did, especially the green one. Good movie by the way.:thumbsup2 I thought of aliens, too when I saw them.

Weird - I just thought they looked like... people wearing ponchos! (And usually I'm the one with conspiracy theories!)

So I thought - "What do you mean what are they? People who don't wanna get wet!" :rotfl:

Hey... actually... didn't the aliens in Signs not wanna get wet too? Hmm ;)

People in ponchos! :thumbsup2

Oh MY GOD...you are a GENIUS!!! :worship: I swear, for the life of me, I could not even begin to comprehend what was going on.

I'm glad I wasn't the only person to be confused and other posters thought that something alien was going on.

I know, but trust me - I had to put on my thinking cap for that one! :cool2:

Sorry if us paranoid chicks are raining on your parade, Carrie :rotfl: Back to the topic at hand.

... Duckies!

Yea for duckies!! I wonder if the duckies realize that they live in Disney World and everyday they feel like this :woohoo: and this

It was nice to see that you had a good experience at CA Grill. I haven't been able to return after our first failure to be seated (long story- involved John Stamos and his then wife Rebecca Romyn arriving and leaving all of us little people to be ignored and it was like 7 or 8 years ago, so you can see I'm still bitter  .)

Oh my gosh - now that is a story I would love to hear! popcorn::

The shot the restaurant sent you was a great picture of you and DH; was it just the manager who took the shot or did they actual have a Photopass type person there?

As near as we could tell, she was a member of the restaurant's staff - we didn't get a PhotoPass card and she didn't have any PhotoPass insignia. And, considering the quality of many PhotoPass pictures, I think we were lucky! :cutie:

Great pics- we were at WL in 5/07. Loved the hotel- but completely agree about the EWP. Cute but I wouldn't do more than go out on my balcony to see it!

Ah... then we haven't been missing much. I always say it looks like LA's Department of Water & Power Light Festival, a musty collection of light-up flats that looks like it hasn't been updated since the '50s.

I should have known better than to read your TR on the hungriest day of my life (since yesterday). I just had nachos an hour ago and now cali grill makes me want, well... exactly what you had (but I'll take the raspberry swirlies)... and some wine!

Mmmmmmmmmm........ nachos....... :rotfl:

I am very happy that you got to see the fireworks at CG and had a good meal. It's ironic that you showed the pictures of the 80's style part of the Contemp while "Sister Christian" is playing on the radio. Like, totally, for sure and gag me! (I loved Miami Vice, BTW.)

FABulous! :lmao: You know I'd give this trip report a soundtrack if it were possible!

:rotfl2: I'm so glad the other lovely readers of this trippie could clear that up for you!

Great TR Carrie! Can't wait to read more.

It was great meeting you at the UK. I apologize for crashing your dinner but it had to be done! Now... start writing more!!! :surfweb:

No need to apologize, Tracy - it was really fun meeting you and Rachael and Dawn! I can't wait to get to that day of the trip. :goodvibes

I would have loved to be charged by the cattle.

:rotfl: Cute!!!

California Grill looks really amazing! I really enjoy your food reviews. :woohoo: Nothing beats free dessert, too!

Amen to that!

Another great update! I'm going to have to try Cali Grill sometime. The view looks amazing for Wishes!

I recommend it! But I guess I'd say to make your ADR for an hour beforehand - or go when it first opens. They let you come back later and watch the fireworks from the catwalk outside.

I love seeing baby ducks!!

Me too! (I wish the DIS had a duck smiley - they really should, considering that WDW's duck population rivals the number of CMs.

Yea for duckies!! I wonder if the duckies realize that they live in Disney World and everyday they feel like this :woohoo: and this

:lmao: They have no idea how depressing it is to be a duck elsewhere...

No need to apologize, Tracy - it was really fun meeting you and Rachael and Dawn! I can't wait to get to that day of the trip. :goodvibes

It was actually me, Christina, and Dawn. Oops!!! But then again, with your disbride celebrity status, you can't possibly remember all our names!!!

That's weird - she told me that her real name is Christina but she goes by Rachael - oh wait.... maybe it was the other way around.... Hmmm - better confirm with her before I get to that part of the trippie! :rotfl:

I finally caught up. Didn't realize how far behind I was!

Awesome updates and great pictures. I especially enjoyed DAK day. We tour MK the same way...early morning commando style to see just how much we can do before the crowds arrive. :lmao:

Very cool to have found your Anniversary trip, I remember reading your TR about your beautiful wedding! I'll have to jump back and read about riding to Haunted Mansions in one day!! It looks like you and your DH had a great time so far, can't wait to read more!!

I loved reading about your wedding, and I'm sure this TR will be just as fun! Gotta say I actually laughed when you said you "nerded up" at AK.

Oh!! Your WL shots made me so excited!!! I have forgotten how pretty the river is!

(and when I hear "Miami Vice" I always think of the TV show not the movie..guess I am old!!! hahha)

It’s a good way to work off the extra Dole Whips...

Ummm.....never had a dole whip either. :scared1: We were on our way to get one when DD found some fruity orange thing instead. Kids! :confused3

Love the ducky day care! How cute! love all the WL photos!

DANG it, i knew i should have booked there! :headache:
