Resurrecting an oldie but goodie! What is the craziest thing you have witnessed on a cruise?

I wish I had a photo of it, but on my first cruise the Fantasy was new and I guess there was a problem with the railing somewhere. I tend to get up early and had trouble sleeping, but DW was fast asleep so I snuck out of the cabin and went to the upper deck.

It was still dark out and not a soul was stirring... except 3 maintenance men scurrying along the deck with a long railing held between them. Since it was twilight, it looked oddly like the scene from The Secret of Nimh where the mom was asking the dad if they had noticed anything odd with the rats and in the background the rats are carrying an electric cord between them. Like a couple of thieves in the night stealing the railing.

I mean I know maintenance goes on - obviously - but the whole scene just struck me as funny.

Not sure if it is the craziest of all time- Adults doing canon balls in the adult pool on the Fantasy last summer. :dance3:

I had friends who were on a cruise on the Fantasy where people were trying to do cannonballs from the top of the stairs on deck 13 into the pool on Deck 11 in the adult area. Needless to say, the crew put a stop to that idea quickly

That is crazy! There were officers on the way to stop this as well I believe. I was sort of surprised, usually the adult pool is quiet. This was a pretty rowdy cruise. Some folks were having a beer with their breakfast in Cabanas at 7am. To each their own. I am more of a mimosa person! LOL

In the fantasy a few years back, late at night, after a tasting seminar, decided to go to the hot tub in the adult area for a few minutes before going to sleep...
a couple in their 30s was there, so it was just the 3 of us...it was all very quiet, very few ppl around if any... then all of a sudden both take off their bathing suits and put them on the side.. the girl said: "I hope you don't mind" - I said I didn't as long as they were ok with me there... I just got in and wanted to stay in the hot tub a few more minutes.. we were in the same tasting seminar and had a nice chat for a few minutes..no one else showed up..no CM.. I left after another 15 minutes or so..
I always wondered if they were reprimanded later on in the cruise as the cameras must have surely picked up their enthusiasm for public nudity.

Whoa...where to start....but one that was more recent that sticks out is the family that brought their portable potty everywhere they went on the cruise. I personally witnessed them putting their portable potty in the aisle of the Walt Disney Theatre during a show, have their child pull down their pants and "go" and then carry the potty out to empty. Also heard from other guests that they brought it in the main dining room. They were reported to the Head Server and were told they could not bring the potty in the MDR's. I am well aware of how important and difficult potty training can be (currently potty training our grandson) but a cruise is not the place to carry around a potty.

On the Wonder several years ago for the EBPC cruise. In Palo and we were just being seated at a 2 person table next to the windows when I noticed the next table was ordering. The waiter, very professionally, was explaining the menu to both the people sitting at the table (or so I thought). As the dinner progressed, the lady at the table was facing me and the other person (so I thought) had their back to me (my DH couldn't see any of the goings-on from his vantage point). The server returned to the table often to bring the next course and chat with the diners. My DH kept asking 'what are you look at'? The lady was very animated in her discussion with her table mate, hand gesturing with fork and knife flaying around. The table mate never moved. Our dinner was starting when their desert was being presented (souffle with warm chocolate sauce), one for each. Their waiter presented her with the receipt for signature, thanked them, and departed. She signed the receipt, got up, and grabbed the table mates ... it was 3 stuffed animals in a tote bag!

This is my favorite! I always like when you share this story.

So I missed it (asleep with a 4 year old in our cabin), but my 2 SILs went to see the late showing of Captain Marvel on the 8-day June 2019 Fantasy cruise. Some guy comes in during the middle of the show, wearing only a bathrobe. :confused3 Then he starts shouting about his girlfriend/wife (?). Thankfully, he didn't 'DIS-robe' (pretty punny) and some CMs quickly escorted him out.

We saw a couple "finding the Magic" in the adult hot tub once but the circumstances were a bit different. They were an adult couple that were definitely mentally disabled as we had seen them several times before this incident. They were a sweet couple but I think things just went way too far in the hot tub. I guess passion trumped inhibition. We happened to be on Deck 10 looking down to Deck 9 and my BIL said that couple OMG I think those people just finished having sex in the hot tub (it was obvious by the sounds). Someone else had also seen (heard) it and made it to a CM before we could. Now before you think we are peeping toms we noticed it at the end...do not know how long they were at it. Needless to say they had to drain the hot tub and power wash it.

woah.. that is wild.. If these types of things happen in a 'family oriented' cruise like DCL I can't imagine what its like on other lines.. I've never sailed any other cruiselines so no idea..
I've seen many other crazy things but the the R rated ones are fun to witness or read about.

This happened to be us as well, not on a cruise though. We were on a duck tour in Seattle. The lady in the row in front of us pulled her portable potty chair out so her daughter could go. I was so grossed out by it, if the potty fell over it would have spilled all over our feet.

The bill.

I was on that cruise, but I didn’t witness that. Wild!

Being on the Disney Wonder when the pandemic was declared.

There were many ‘unprecedented’ things about that sailing.
At least, from what I saw, people were well behaved. The stories coming in from WDW and DL were much more dramatic in terms of guest behavior.
