Restr. in Epcot that turns?

They had changed it, but they've gone back to the family-style skillet if that's what you are looking for. Hope that helps!

Family style Skillet? Could you please explain? :listen: thanks

We also love the Garden Grill. It has great food and service and has continuously had the best character interaction of any of the character meals we have experienced (we've been many times to Liberty Tree Tavern, Crystal Palace, Donald's Breakfastsaurus, Princess Storybook breakfast, and Chef Mickey's). We make sure to get a Garden Grill ADR each time we go to WDW.

"The family style skillet" is a plate in which they bring all the meats, potatoes, and veggies. They are all together but not to the point that they are mushed together. Someone posted a nice picture of what it looks like when they bring it.

Thank you so much for the pictures, I had been dying to see some, especially of the desserts. ;)

Look at my pictures a few posts back. You can see what she is talking about. You get one plate for everyone that has the steak, turkey, fish, potatoes and vegetables on it. You then take what you want from this family plate onto your own plate. The same goes for the dessert.

Okay what is the red stuff on your plate???? And what is that dessert? It looks yummy!

Do you mean the cranberries that were on the turkey??

The desserts were pecan pie, cheesecake, lemon pie and I believe ice cream in the middle. I can't remember exactly on that one.

Thanks for the reassurance on the menu. My kids love the family skillet- especially the flank steak. The prefer the adult food to the kid choices.

We ate at the Garden Grill back in the late 80's and one of the neatest things on the table was the MM butter statue. LOL the kids didn't want to use the butter! LOL Thanks for mentioning this resturant and sparking a fun memory.

We just ate at the Garden Grill 2 weeks ago and it was great. We never tire of this restaurant. We love the characters, the food and the atmosphere! The new desert sampler is very impressive!

WE LOVE THE GARDEN GRILL!!!

The food is fantastic, the scenery is great, and we got a lot of interaction with the characters.

My DD loved the build your own cupcake! :thumbsup2

We went a few weeks ago, and it was one of the best meals we had!!! My kids loved the build your own cupcake, too! I would definitely do this again.

OK...I am looking for something different to do this time as far as a character meal. Is this meal at the Garden Grill the same thing as the "Ice Cream Social" that i have heard about??

Thanks for your help~~~ :confused3

The Garden Grill is no longer offering the Ice Cream Social :guilty:
We ate there last June, and my DH actually got nauseous with the revolving room. Based on what y'all have posted here, I'd love to try it again (We had the old new menu--blah)--but don't know if DH can stomach the turning... :teeth:

AWESOME thread this was on my list of possible ADR's to make and I think you all made up my mind for me! WOOHOO!!!!!! :thumbsup2

Just wanted to say to mikkimouse3, welcome to the DIS!!! :wave2:

Does anyone know.....I'm a veggie but the rest of the family are confirmed meat eaters - DS6 loves anything but the only vegetable DH eats is chips (ie french fries).

We have a ADR here - how will they cope with me??

Thanks

I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one that gets motion sick from eating there! I've gotten sick on anything that spins sideways from the time I was born. I can't tell you how many timesthat I got sick on merry-go-rounds in elementary school. I kept going back though, and will probably be going back to the Garden Grill (after taking Bonine!) I think my problem was that the first time we went, I looked at the floor a few too many times where it was turning and would feel sick afterwards. The last time we ate there, I made sure to sit the way the restaurant was turning, but I could see our reflection in the glass/plastic below the handrail and see that we were moving. That night, laying in the hotel bed, everything was spinning and I barely made it to the bathroom in time. I will definitely need to take bonine and stop looking around too much! We love the restaurant, the food and especially the character interaction.

As for vegetarian options, I know that portabello mushrooms with tomato sauce was offered.

Thanks for those pics!!! I've been thinking about adding it and now I think I'm convinced!! It's been a while since we ate there and we loved it the first time. :yay:

Sorry, could someone help me with this? I'm actually thinking about changing our ADRs in case they can't cope with a veggie!! :confused3

Looks like you'll be fine, it seems like they have an option. I just checked the menu on allearsnet and it lists this .....

Vegetarian Selection

Mushroom and Asiago Ravioli served with fresh vegetables in a light tomato broth

It seems like they would be able to just bring that out for you. HTH!

Great thanks. I managed very well last year as a veggie but we didn't eat here - it looks great though so I will keep the ADR.
