Restaurants you did not like

It makes me sad when I see a whole bunch of new places I am trying this time around on this list. Especially Chef Mickeys- It's our first night dinner and I was hoping it would be a great start to our trip!

I wouldn't let the responses here get you down since everyone has different tastes and had different experiences at these places. I say this because many I went to last year are listed and I would gladly go back to any/all of them: 50's Prime Time, Yakitori House, Cosmic Ray's, Tangierine Cafe, Seasons, Sci-Fi., Noodle Station.

Really, the only thing I didn't care much for was a burger I'd gotten at Cosmic Ray's. It was just bland to me and didn't have much of any meaty flavor to it (especially after having eaten a cheeseburger at Margaritaville a few days prior).

Wow I am shocked to see so many Coral Reef haters:confused3
We did it last year and the year before and its on our list for this year and we have always enjoyed it. The aquarium wall is such great entertainment for dd that we will probably still do it.
I also have Mama Melrose on my list for this year (we have never done it) and I think we will definately take it off the list.
I agree Chef Mickey isn't the greatest.....dinner was bad but breakfast was okay but we eat there regardless b/c I think the character interaction is great and there is usually all the Mickey gang and that is a bonus for dd.
Anyone keeping up to what is the worst, which one is getting most bad hits? It would be nice to see the results!

DH and I did not care for Boma for dinner but we loved it for breakfast. We just aren't very adventurous when it comes to food and some of the dinner items were oddly spiced. We did find some good things to eat but not enough for us to want to go back. I know others love it so I guess I would at least try it once. I was really not impressed with LTT last December. The character interaction and the service was very good but the food was just mediocre. We won't be going back.

Coral Reef. Food and service were terrible.
The CS by Biergarten with the frankfurters. They were very bland and so was the saurkraut.

Chefs duFrance....we had really bad service and the food was cold. Iced tea was warm..no ice cubes despite 4 requests for some.

Coral Reef was terrific the first time, miserable the second. A ton of screaming kids, around 8ish....our server was stressed and harried. The food was barely edible, and we couldn't hear each other talk. Never again.

Cape May...love breakfast here, hated the Clam bake. Even my dh who loves seafood didn't care for it. We're from NE so perhaps we have higher expectations for clam bakes.

Tuttu...overpriced, not crazy about the food. Liked Alfredo's much better.

Liberty Tree Tavern...dinner there is just not great. I have not been since they took away the characters...maybe that will help. I just hated the food there at dinner.

'Ohana...just doesn't get it done for me anymore. Our service has been mediocre there, the food was not great. They made too many changes to the menu. It took forever for us to get a beef skewer...had to ask about 3 times..took about 30 mins. Nope, not going back there either.

We did not like the Teppanyaki steakhouse in Japan, but the WORST food was the shrimp pasta at Sci-Fi. But, I found out upon return (from this board) that you are only supposed to get the burgers there. Sorry, but I am not spending a TS credit on a burger.

I thought the Reuben was good, but probably also not TS points good. Then again, it's not $11.99 good, either, but hey--it's Disney, no surprise. ;)

I don't like Boma for dinner. We also feel 'Ohana has gone way downhill over the past few years. Chef Mickey used to be our favorite character breakfast, but the last two times we went we had cold food and terrible service, so I think we're done with that one for a while too.

50's PT - icky food and terrible service
San Angel Inn - our food was cold and the meat was so tough you couldn't cut it with a steak knife
Akershus - only since the Princesses took over...before that it was okay

Not bad considering we've eaten at almost every restaurant on property at least once.;)

I wondered if that would have an impact on my impressions of the place if I ever ate there. I get very judgemental over fish since I'm from NE as well. I have to have it up to "NE standards." :lmao:

We really didnt like 'Ohana that much. Im willing to give it another try, but my wife says "Not a chance". We also didnt like the food at the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show.

the only restaurant that my family said they do not want to go back to is chefs de france. the food was fine but we waited about an hour to get seated with ADRs and then our meal took about 2 hours. we just don't want to have the big of a chunk taken out of our day at disney!!

I didn't think LeCellier was "all that" when we ate there. The food wasn't bad, but the atmosphere wasn't enjoyable at all; the room is dark and dreary. Our service was pretty poor too.

The worst experience we ever had at a Disney restaurant was at Boma for dinner. The food was just horrible! The spices on the food were odd-tasting, mostly too sweet. Many of the cooked dishes (prime rib and salmon, for example) were ice cold.

I'm thinking about giving it another try next trip. My brother who lives in Tampa hears about how wonderful it is from his coworkers, and he'd like to try it. It's also a favorite here--although not in this thread. Ironically, the complaints I had about Boma are all mentioned in this thread, so now I'm getting cold feet again. The beauty of Free Dining is that if I really dislike a meal, I won't feel so bad since I'm not paying big $$$ for it.

Chef Mickey's, Ohana and SciFi are mentioned frequently in this thread, so I just have to say that we love these places.

There are many I agree with, yet some are my favorites.

Citrico's is one I love would put #1 on my list.

At first I kept wondering why someone from Nebraska (state abbreviation NE), would be judgmental over fish.:confused3 Then I saw on your signature that you're from Mass, or New England. Now I know that those "Nebraksa standards" don't mean that you love fried catfish....:lmao:

My very worst dining experience was at the Restaurant Marakesh. I also agree with ABC Commissary. I did not enjoy my dinner at Askerhus, but everybody else in my party seemed to have good food. Cosmic Ray's is also not my favorite.

These are ALWAYS on the "the list":

Captn' Jacks - *shudder*, It was so....nevermind....just, *shudder*
Planet Hollywood
Hollywood and Vine

Our favorite CS, at MK, used to be Pecos Bills. No more. We were there last month when they reopened and the burgers were awful, just awful. The friggin cow was already dead, there was no need for the treatment that meat received! The pulled pork had also been changed. It tasted like the pork you get in the cold section of the grocery store with too much sauce....baaaaaaaad!!!

I don't think I would take Mama Melrose's off my list if I was you. Everyone has their own opinion and even though I am apparently in the minority I really like Mama Melrose's. We ate there in December for the first time and we all (6 in all) really enjoyed it. :thumbsup2

I think that after reading most of the reviews, pretty much every restaurant in WDW was rated yuck by someone! I was really looking forward to some of our meals, but now I'll just go and hope for the best:rotfl:!
