Table Service: Whispering Canyon-too long for food, food mediocre at best

2 restaurants that I didn't like are Tony's and Bongos. We just ate at Tony's in November; I wasn't impressed and neither was DH.

The last time I ate at Bongo's was in 2002 so I am thinking I will give it another shot in August.

DH and I really love LeCellier, however, the last 2 times we ate there we feel that the quality of food has gone down. The cut of meat wasn't as good as it had been. Maybe we just had some bad luck. I'will give them another shot or two before I decide to give them a break from our business and try some new establishments.

My husband's favorite part of our WDW trips is trying the different restaurants. We are certainly not gourmets but can certainly appreciate a good meal. That said we have our list of must dos every trip. One of those I have to defend Cape May dinner. Now we also are from New England and I enjoy seafood but I must admit we do not go there for a great clambake. Instead we find a good variety of offerings and have had consistently good quality of food and service overall. We went twice this past DEC (skipped Mama Melroses which we were going to try for the first time - guess we made the right choice ) One night was significantly better for service and the chicken but we were satisfied both times. Also the kids always find a lot they like. As buffets go its a good choice. We also really like Boma breakfast and supper buffets.

I agree Ohana has gone downhill. My husband will not admit it. Our service was not up to par also during our last trip. However, we' ll try it again in October. The 90 day mark seems so far away
But, our absolute avoids are : Gullivers Grill, Cosmic Rays, and Rainforest Cafe (food not worth the wait or price for what you get). Our worst meal to date though was at the Liberty Tree Tavern dinner. I wanted to like it - really. The food was not good and it was a very hectic atmosphere with very rushed character interactions. I must admit our server was very pleasant despite it being so busy.

Second this - worst meal of our trip for dinner. I'm sure breakfast is great, though. We're probably going to give it a second chance, but only for breakfast.

We really didnt like 'Ohana that much. Im willing to give it another try, but my wife says "Not a chance". We also didnt like the food at the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show.

See, now Ohana is my new favorite, but I am in total agreement on Sprit of Aloha. I almost cried I was so disappointed in the food.

Even though we really liked the setting - the last time we ate at San Angel (July 08) in Mexico - it was THE WORST EXPERIENCE....the tables were too close together, service was toooooooo sloooooowwwwww and when the food came it was not worth the wait - hopefully with the remodel - this place will return to the great place it once was.....so sad....

Favs are Cali Grill and Rose and Crown Pub - have a pint in the bar and order fish & chips - especially if its raining outside - you can watch everybody scurrying for cover

I didn't like the ABC Commisonary (My BF and I got burgers that were too gross to eat) and the resturant in Mexico (the environment was nice but the food wasnt that good.)

We've only had poor experiences at 3 places in Disney:

1. Spirit of Aloha: Food was very disappointing. It was cold, chicken and ribs were tough, and rice was bland. We barely saw our server for drink refills and the dessert was gross. The show was also terrbile, IMO. The first half was SO hokey and the performers didn't seem into it. The behavior of other guests was terrible. We had Tier 1 seating and people (kids AND adults) were standing in front of our table, blocking our view. Even when the CMs asked these people to sit down, they still wouldn't.

2. Kona Cafe (dinner): My fish was super salty and we can't even remember what DH had, but it was a very small portion. Service was poor- just disappointing overall.

3. Coral Reef: Food was not good and portions very small for the price. Our server had attitude.

We won't be returning to these places but there's plenty of other restaurants that we love!

First--I wouldn't base my decisions on anything anyone wrote on here--everyone has their own opinion.

Second--here is my list :
Coral Reef--cheap looking restaurant, boring food (although if you go get the land sea appy--awesome!), rude waiter, long waits

I think that's the only place I absolutely would never go back again. My list of likes/loves is much longer.

Well there isnt a restraunt that we wouldnt retry but heres are bottom picks
1BoatWrights at POR without Breakfast its more of a miss now.
2.Brown Derby we just were not impressed at all.
3.Cape May use to be our number1 but has really changed so now it really is losing ground.

Since I am currently planning a trip to WDW, I found this thread very informative and useful. Many of the restaurants at WDW received at least a couple of votes, and several more than five. We all have different tastes and several of the restaurants mentioned are some of our favorites, but I was interested to see if there were any stand-out trends. So I did a little unofficial tally of the votes so far counting any negative remark (about service or food ranging from disappointing to horrible) the same.

By far ABC Commissary recieved the most negative replies--22 so far. From this and personal experience, I think it's safe to say that I will never eat there again.

Receiving more than 10 negative comments were:

Between 5 and 10 were:

I am not listing the under 5's. While the numbers so tell me something, I am keeping in mind the comments. Most people seemed like they just thought that Le Cellier was overrated, while many had stronger comments against Hollywood and Vine regarding their food and cleanliness. From these statements, I would be much more likely to visit Le Cellier than Hollywood and Vine (I haven't been to either before).

Keep in mind that the numbers have probably already changed as I have posted this rather lengthy reply, but I hope it helps for you to see some trends too. I probably won't eliminate any of the 5-10 range as some of my favorites are there (except for the ones that got really strong comments against), but I am having second thoughts about making ADR's for the 10 and above.

We did not like the Teppanyaki steakhouse in Japan, but the WORST food was the shrimp pasta at Sci-Fi. But, I found out upon return (from this board) that you are only supposed to get the burgers there. Sorry, but I am not spending a TS credit on a burger.

Yes the shrimp pasta is to be avoided at all costs!!! I got very sick the one and ONLY time I ate at Sci Fi!

We did not enjoy Boma at all. It got great reviews on this board and in The Unofifcial Guide but we found the food just odd. Most of the meats and vegetables were sweet. It was very loud and just not worth the wait or cost.

Nine Dragons!!! We ate there last month and the food was horrible. It was very bland. We thought that the counter service Yak and Yeti at AK was a lot better than the food at Nine Dragons. It is extremely overpriced for what we got. I was really disappointed in it!!!! The service was pretty slow, too, and we had a very hard time getting refills on our waters. Never again!!!!
